Ever since man came to be, there was Yin and Yang. Many say the two were great enemies, but they are the exact opposite. They were in love, and one day, Yin bore children, two sisters.

One, was almost the definition of an angel, with beautiful white hair and piercing blue eyes. She always behaved and did just as she was told, causing no trouble at all. Yin and Yang named her Salicia, meaning whole or good hearted (1).

Her twin sister was the exact opposite, with bright red hair and fiery red eyes, always misbehaving and causing trouble wherever she went. Her name was chosen to be Kayara, meaning troublesome (2).

Now, since Salicia is most like Yin, who is pure, she has the power of ice. Ice is considered pure and beautiful, so it fits her personality.

Since Kayari is most like Yang, who is always causing trouble, she has the ability of fire, also fitting her personality.

As the two grew, they became inseparable, despite all their differences and arguments. Each day since the two could walk, they would walk as far as they could across the earth until sunset came. Whenever the two walked, they would leave trails of frost and embers behind them. But one day, when the two were on a normal walk, a great crack came to be where the frost and embers met, unleashing demons who wreaked havoc over earth.

The girls tried to stop it together, but they would only cause more trouble and problems. Until one day, the two of them came to an agreement...

One of them must die.

Every new generation, the two of them would have a great battle to see who would take the opponents powers to keep the demons at bay and keep the generation safe. Whoever lost the battle would be born into a new life as soon as the victor of the fight finished defending the generation. Then, the two would be born from the generation they saved as sisters, just like always.

And they would continue this battle forever more, until the great crack in the earth ceased to exist.

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed the prologue of my first book! If I somehow took someone's idea, it was a complete and utter accident, and I'm sorry.

(1): Now, I don't know if Salicia means what I said it means, so just go with it, okay?
(2): I don't know if the meaning for Kayara means what I said it does either, so please, just pretend it does for me, okay?
