Eva POV

The next few days had passed in a bit of a haze. Surprisingly spending time with Joe now felt completely natural and it was almost like I had known if him forever.

With reunion fast approaching I needed to find something to wear and of course Lola had insited on tagging along. In her mind Joe and I were really a couple and I had found the perfect guy.

In reality the more time I spent with Joe the more I liked him and the more that scared me.

"So do you have an idea of what you want to wear" Lola asks

"Not really" I sigh looking through a rack of dresses

"Alright, lets just focus and making you look incredible for Joe" she smiles "we want his eyes to stay on you all night"

"Lo, this thing with me and Joe isn't real" I say "and I think that's a good thing"

Lola walks around the rack and silently wraps her arms around me. I let out a sigh as I hug her back

"I see what's going on here" she says softly "it was four years ago Eva, you need to forget about Leon. Joe isn't him"

"How do you know that?" I ask "You know what they say if something is to good to be true it usually is"

"Right, we are going to go and grab some lunch and then while we eat we are going to do a pros and cons list for Joe" she says making me laugh

"Why do we need to do that?" I ask as we leave the store and head towards the food court

"To show you he is worth taking a chance on" she says

Moments later we are sat at a table with our lunch and Lola is poised and ready with a pen and paper.

"Ok pros" Lola says clicking her pen

"Well......he's sweet, he's protective" I say "he's an amazing kisser and he gives the best hugs.........oh and he has a beautiful smile"

"I'm just going to over look the fact the you missed out smoking hot" she laughs "now cons"

"He's perfect" I sigh "and that's in itself is a red flag...........after that I have nothing"

"See Eva you can't think of one single thing" she smiles "that should tell you everything you need to know"

"Only because I don't know him well enough" I say "give me some more time I'm sure I will find something"

"Eva, you're my best friend and I love you but you have to stop convincing yourself that every man you meet is going to be just like Leon" she says "Leon lied, he cheated, and he know showed your wedding day. That is a special one of a kind type of asshole never to be repeated"

"Well I'm not prepared to take that risk" I say "I just want to get this reunion out of the way"

"So what you are just going to spend the rest of your life alone" she asks "Eva......please just give yourself another chance to be happy"

"Maybe one day" I shrug "but Joe is such a nice guy he deserves some one who will give him a proper chance"

"No he deserves the woman his heart is clearly set on" Lola says giving my hand a squeeze "she just needs to open her heart to him"

Joe POV

Taking in my reflection at my final suit fitting I was happy with what I saw and I was certain that Eva would like what she sees too.

There was only a few days left before the reunion and I didn't want the end of reunion to be the end of us. I wanted this to become something.

"You look good big uce" Jimmy says "I hate that you always look good in a suit. Can't you look bad just once"

"Jealousy is not your colour Jim" I laugh

"So you all set for the reunion?" He asks

"Yeah, there's just one last thing I need to pick up and then I'm good to go" I say

"Hey real talk uce" he says coming to stand behind me "if she doesn't want to be with you after all this she's a fool"

"Thanks uce" I smile "just gotta give it my best shot right"

"Exactly" he smiles "win your girls heart uce. You got this"

As I head back to the fitting room to take of suit Eva isn't far from my mind. Everything about her makes me smile, there is nothing I don't like about her she is absolutely perfect.

I get changed and hang the suit up before taking it to the counter to make the final payment.

Heading out of the store with Jimmy we decide to head somewhere for lunch. We cross the street and head into the mall only to Eva walking around with Lola.

"Hey Jim, you see that woman over there?" I ask "long hair, incredible body, beautiful smile. Waking with dark haired woman"

"Yeah I see her uce what about her?" He asks

"That's her.....that's Eva" I smile

"Man you weren't kidding about her being beautiful" he says

"Hey you are a married man" I say

"Don't mean I'm blind uce" he laughs

Just then Eva spots me and walks straight over to me with a beautiful smile and Lola following right behind.

"Joe hi" she smiles wrapping me up in a hug

"Hi Eva" I say "uh this is my cousin Jimmy. Jimmy this is Eva"

"Nice to meet you Jimmy" she smiles "this is Lola"

"Nice to meet you Lola" Jimmy smiles

"Nice to meet you too" she smiles "anyway we still have a dress to find for you missy" she says pulling Eva away

"Oh yeah right" Eva says "I will see you soon Joe, it was good to see you"

"You too babygirl" I smile "see you soon"
