Janus pouted.
"Musssss'!" He whines as Remus didn't move. He had been tasked with waking Remus this morning—but no one mentioned he slept as heavy as a rock! He snored loudly, body sprawled out comically and Janus was ignoring the fact that he is indeed only his boxers.
Shoving at his shoulder, Remus didn't even stir, merely snoring louder.
"Ugh!" Janus complains. The others had tasked him with waking him because they had insisted that Remus would have mercy on him for being woken from his death sleep. Janus didn't care about his reaction at this point. Climbing onto his bed, he flung his body on top of him, grinning in victory as Remus groaned lowly. He struggled to stir to see if he had opened his eyes, but he didn't get the chance as his waist was suddenly grabbed as Remus rolled around. Janus whined louder as he was stuck in his arms, his face pressed to his chest as Remus used him as a stuffed animal.
"Mus!"
Another snore.
Groaning, Janus wiggled around, only to find he was stuck. Giving in, he grumbled as he snuggled close, his body unnaturally warm.
"Musss gotta get up," He murmurs, managing to wiggle his arm up, poking at his ribs. As he began to squirm, Janus grinned and continued until Remus let out a series of chuckles and lightly swatted at his fingers, grabbing at his arms.
"Jannnn," He whines, his voice low and tired. Janus is finally able to sit back up, pouting at Remus who finally cracked his eyes open, squinting at him. "Is too early," He complains, rolling over, snatching his pillow up and shoving it over his head. Janus shakes his head and climbs on him, lightly bouncing, earning more groans.
"Nuh uh mister! Gotta get up! Lo says so! And Lo is gonna kick your butt if you don't!" Jan insists with a firm nod while Remus snickers from beneath his pillow and stretches his long, slim yet muscular limbs out, throwing a playful glare at Janus who grins innocently.
"Come on Mus' Pat made bacon!"
"BACON?!" Remus squeals at the top of his lungs, suddenly shooting up. Janus' hands shoot to his ears at the volume, hissing lowly. "Why didn't you say that in the first place! Come on kid!" He shrieks, lifting him with ease, earning a small squeak then a giggle as Remus tossed him over his shoulder.
"Musssss!"
"Bacon!" Remus chirps as he skips into the kitchen, inhaling the salty, delicious smell of bacon.
"Took you long enough," Virgil snorts, munching on his breakfast along with everyone else, except for Patton who was tidying up, having wanted to wait for the two to join before beginning to chow down.
"I almost went and got ya! I was afraid you got lost Janny, you're so little," Patton cooed lovingly, stealing the man from Remus, grinning at the slight pink blush that adorned his cheeks.
"Not lil' m'big!"
"Aw, of course!" Chirps Patton, carrying him on over to his highchair, earning a great big pout and a glare. Though, it faded as his breakfast—while finely cut for him—was served on a Mickey mouse plate. He didn't mind the design and merely lifted up his baby fork and began chomping down while Remus and Patton soon joined.
"Today, I will be leaving the base for matters outside superhero work," Logan announces.
"Ro and I were planning on going to the movies, anyone else wanna come? We just wanted to get out of the base, we haven't gone out in a while." Virgil explains, glancing briefly at Janus.
They hadn't gone out in a while since they had began this whole age regression ordeal.
"I can stay with Jan," Pat offers.
"Nah you go," Remus says, smiling lazily at Patton and his hesitancy. "C'mon Pat, you deserve a little break, I'll watch him, its no biggie. What's the worst that can happen?"
Everyone opened their mouths.
"Don't answer that."
No one spoke.
"Alright," Patton agrees, glancing at Janus who was plopping his yummy pieces of bacon into his mouth. "Only if Janus doesn't mind."
"M'don't mind m'like Mus," Janus says with a mouthful of food, though, quiets down at the scornful look he received from both Patton and Logan.
"Then it's settled, I suppose Remus is..." Logan took a deep breath. "In charge."
"That's something I never thought I would hear," Virgil snorts while Remus merely grinned wide.
"Janny and I are gonna have a grand old time aren't we?" He asks, glancing at the tot as he swung his feet and continued to shove sticky pancakes into his mouth. He gave a rapid nod at the question, barely paying much attention while Logan sighed and grabbed a few wet wipes, beginning to clean him up. While he gave a bit of a fuss, he was soon syrup free and wiggling to be let down.
"We can pillow fight Ree!"
Remus grinned ear to ear and held out his hand for a fist bump. "Hell yeah little dude."
Janus giggled and eagerly pushed his fist against him and they both let out a mock explosion noise as they pulled away.
"Just please don't break anything," Patton sighs. "And not too much sugar! And no running in the base, jumping on the furniture, cursing, scary movies-"
"Yeah yeah!" Remus interrupted as soon as Patton began counting on his fingers. "Got it! We're gonna be so mellow."
Patton didn't seem convinced but merely let Janus down from his highchair. "If you say so."
"If that's all we should leave soon yes?" Logan questions as he places his dish in the sink. "It's Remus' turn on the dishes anyway."
Remus groaned at that. Stupid chores!
"So early? When does it start?" Patton asks with a frown, obviously hesitant to leave.
"It's in the mall," Roman answers as he too slid his plate into the sink. "That way we can look around a bit and chill before the movie!"
"I don't know-"
"Too late you already agreed!" Roman exclaims, gently grabbing Patton by the wrist. "It's for your own good Padre! You never relax anymore. Don't burn the house down!" He chirped before proceeding to drag the worrying dad out of the base with Logan and Virgil hot on their tail.
With them gone, Janus began tugging on Remus' pant leg. "Pillow fight!"
Remus merely ruffled his hair. "Sure kid! We gotta clean up first. Can you be a big boy and wipe off the table?" He asks, handing him a wet cloth. He noticed he liked being treated like a "big boy" and figured the kid couldn't do much harm when wiping down the table. Whether he did well or not didn't matter, Remus would just fix that later when he had his nap.
Janus immediately bobbed his head at the question. Of course he could, he's a big boy. He went and grabbed a cloth from near the sink and went to work wiping off the counter while Remus filled the sink with warm water and plenty of dish soap. When Janus deemed the table clean enough, he dropped the rag in the sink and rubbed his hands on his fuzzy pants.
"Pillow fight now?" He pesters, his job being done. Remus peered over, scrubbing at one of the frying pans and Snickers at his whine.
"Sorry Kid, I'm doing lame adult chores ya know? It won't take that long. How about ya get our pillows ready? We can build a fort and everything, go gather some awesome supplies."
Janus perked up at the offer of a fort and rushed off without a second thought or attempt to rush him further, having a new mission in mind. He went around the house-like structure and gathered as many pillows and blankets he could find and had them all bunched up in his arms, dropping them on the ground in the living room in a great big pile. He was a very patient kiddo as he stared and fiddled with the supplies, barely inching towards the walkway again, staring intently at it.
Any minute, he reminds himself.
He lasted about two more minutes before he poked his head back through the frame, pouting at Remus who was, sadly, still scrubbing away at the many dishes that had piled. Six mouths, five currently active superheros, are a lot of mouths to feed after all.
"Reeeee!" He whines, giving a little stomp to emphasize it. "Hurry up!"
"Relax kid," Remus snorts. "What? You got somewhere to be?" He teases, setting a newly cleaned dish to the side on the dishrack. "Hot date?" He muses, cackling as Janus went red at the question and sputtered.
"S-Shutup!"
"Oh so you do have a hot date," He continues his teasing just to see him squirm, and successfully steer him away from his oncoming tantrum.
"Nuh uh!"
"No?"
"No," Janus huffs, turning his head away. "Jus' you! A stinky rat!"
"Oh I get it," Remus laughs. "I'm the hot date."
Janus chokes on air and Remus cackles louder as his face blossoms with a shade of red that he didn't know was possible to form on someone's face. He doesn't deny it, he merely whines and ducks back into the living room and Remus deems himself successful.
Only a few moments later is he walking through said doorway, hands dried and dishes stacked on a drying mat. As he walked in, his lips quirked as Janus had his under one of the many blankets, hands curled tight around the fabric to keep it down over his flustered face. Remus took it up on himself to head over, carefully stepping around the mess of pillows and what not. "Huh," He says aloud, tapping his chin in mock thoughtfulness. "I wander where Janus went!"
Janus smiles from behind the blanket, curling up a bit further as a giggle slips past his lips.
"That's so funny I can hear his cute little giggle-" Janus buries his face into his hands, unable to stop another flurry of laughs. "There it is again! Alright, which one of these blankets are ya huh?"
Remus stomped around the living room in exaggeration, pretending to flip up different blankets and what not before slowly creeping towards the obvious lump where Janus had his himself. "I wander...if he's hiding..." He trails off, letting Janus wiggle a little in anticipation before suddenly tugging the blanket off, earning a thrilled squeal. "Here!"
"Nooo!!" He cackles, immediately rushing to run off but Remus quickly caught him and tugged him into a tight hug, beginning to tickle his stomach and sides, earning a squeak and a few weak kicks. "R-Remus! Tickles!!"
"No shit, really?!" Remus asks in false surprise, laughing as Janus wiggled in his hold. "With the way yer wiggling? Here I just thought you had ants in your pants!"
"No!" Janus squeals. "No ants! It's you!"
"Me?" Remus gasps out as he squeezed at his stomach, earning a loud shrill of laughter, his legs kicking a bit harder. "I'd never!"
"R-Ree!! Can't breathe!" Janus gasps out through giggles. Letting up at that, Remus decided that Janus surely needed to breathe, and merely held him in his arms instead as he breathed heavily, a few giggles leaving him after, despite not being tickled any longer.
"Whatcha so giggly for?" Remus teases, earning a weak swat in response. "You're so weird Janus, laughing at nothing," He croons, leaning forward to blow a raspberry on his cheek. Janus squeaked and moved away, laughing as he rubbed at his cheek in mild disgust.
"Eww!! Ree that's icky!"
"Nah, it's perfectly non icky, here I'll do it again to prove it-"
"Noooo!"
Remus grins and rolls his eyes playfully. "Oh fine, hey we gonna build a fort or what kid? Jeez, you bug me about it and then you're slacking?" He snickers, playfully tossing Janus onto the couch. Janus giggled and immediately crawled off, sticking his tongue out at him.
"You were ticklin' me!"
"I'd never do such a thing!" Remus picks up a pillow and lightly smacks him with it. "If ya keep raking my good name through the mud you and me are gonna have some problems here kid."
"What good name?" Janus mocks, dodging another swat. He dove and grabbed for a pillow, immediately swinging at the man. "Besides you like mud! Would be a comp- compli- compliment!"
Remus snorts a little. "Having trouble there buddy?"
"I'll smite you!"
"Do your worst rugrat!"

After a long day of pillow fights, building a giant fort that did indeed take up the entire living room and a million sheets, the two ended up on the floor, the Scooby Doo theme song playing for the thousandth time that day.
Janus pulled Roman's comforter over himself, as they had stolen about everyone's bedding and what not, and Roman's was the coziest. Remus had his own blanket but was using it as more of a pillow than a blanket. Janus didn't blame him, he could feel the heat radiating off of him, which only made him scoot closer.
He felt his hand run through his hair, making him shudder and simply melt into the touch. It was so odd, touch before had burned his skin, as if he was being branded with fingerprints over and over. The heroes touch didn't do that, it was warm and loving. It didn't burn, it didn't hurt, it...it's lovely.
Remus didn't comment on his shudder, he merely repeated the action, stroking his hair and drawing him closer. Janus could feel himself being lulled to sleep, his eyelids growing heavier with each stroke. He slowly lifted his head to glance at the other, watching as he followed along to the cartoon, his eyes squinting ever so slightly as he tried to keep them open.
Janus smiles at the scene and without a second thought leaned in and pressed a small peck to his cheek. He paused after, watching as Remus' eyes went wide and his head turned towards his. Janus' cheeks quickly warmed, immediately sinking into him as his lips spread into a grin. For once he didn't tease him, he merely leaned in, pressing a silent kiss to his head, snickering as Janus' face burned a bit brighter. He hid it in response, sinking into the loving warmth, squeaking as Remus moved to wrap his arms around him.
Closing his eyes, Janus breathed in his musky scent and began to drift off.
Well, until footsteps began approaching the living room.
"Are those my sheets?!"
Janus sniffled a cheeky giggle. He liked it here.
