I sat on the bed with Elijah's head in my lap. Thanks to Nik's bite Elijah now has a fever and it's running beyond high. Hayley came in with a cup of water.

"Here drink this" she helped him drink but he ended up coughing it back up.

"Forgive me please" he raised his hand for me to take which it did

"It's okay honey, it's okay"  i kissed his sweaty forehead. he hummed in response.

"remind me to annihilate your brother once your healthy." Hayley says taking of her cardigan

"yes, remind me to remind you to get in line" i rolled my eyes.

"doesn't help we decided to stay in the middle of a swamp either." she went and opened the door looking out. i had reverted to my vest as well my cardigan making me too hot. he started coughing again.

"you okay?" i asked

"I'm fine." he replied

"Hayley why don't you continue reading" i suggest

"I've finished it, it's just a regular bible with and entry in the family tree which may or may not be me." she sighed

"Hayley please, this fever will make me unstable. And once this hallucinations i will start to see things. I will start to say things. You must leave us here. Bethany can take care of me."

"I'm not leaving you like this. Your my friend." she denies and he starts coughing again.

"Hayley go get some fresh air I'll stay with him" she sighs but nods.

"you know we have to stop meeting like this, i know we're both hot but seriously" i joke he chokes out a laugh.

"you know you haven't told me your idea's on names."

"okay as long as you calm down and breathe, focus on my voice" he settles down

"well i was thinking something mundane like George or Anthony. I even like Noah and Jacob."

"those are nice" i smiled

"yes well it was better than my first thought when it is presumed we're having a boy." i laughed

"what was your first thought?" he wondered

"Kol" i answered laughing he chuckled

"but i didn't think you would be so keen on naming your first born after your brother so..." he then kicked his leg out jolting out of a trance. Hayley came back in as i put my hand on his forehead. i was sucked into his thought. Elijah and i had no secrets, we had shared memories and life stories in order to get close to one another. He insisted i know his life when Autumn and Sophia weren't around.

"Celeste" he breaths as i see images of her in a bath tub. it made me uncomfortable but it didn't freak me out.

"Elijah it's me, It's Bethany" he snapped out of it and looked at me.

"Bethany, I'm sorry i thought you were someone else."

"i know, you thought i was Celeste"

"who's Celeste?" Hayley asked

"a witch he loved during his stay in New Orleans." i answered "that's all you need to know"

"I'm not well, i should go" he sat up coughing and panting. "this is ..."

"this is fine, you're sick and we're taking care of you. Remember in sickness and in health" i kissed his temple he looked up as if realising something.

"we're being watched" i looked at Hayley who looked out the window.

"Hey!" she called leaving

"you need to rest, if you want i can send you to sleep. you won't have to suffer and you'll wake up brand and new" he shook his head.

"there is a reason why Niklaus bit me, i must suffer" i pulled him back down onto my lap. Hayley came back with a rag and water. She handed me it and i dabbed his head as i saw more memories he had.

We were brought out of it and Hayley wet the rag.

"Girls please, this fever. My mind is flooded with these torturous memories. You have to leave."

"How many times must i tell you, I'm not leaving you. I am your wife and I love you. Hayley can if she wants but not me so deal with it."

"Same, we're going to take care of you." she stood up and put the bowl next to her cardigan

"What about our visitor what do they want?"

"I'm guessing she is the one that left the mystery bible on the doorstep last night. Would be nice if she stuck around long enough to tell me why."

"Hayley you came here to gather information about your family not to help play nursemaid to a vampire with a temperature. Please find her and learn what you can"

"no"

"Hayley, go. I have things handled, i swear if you don't go i will force you" she sighed

"fine but i promise i won't be long" she grabbed her cardigan and left. It became dark and i was sucked into another memory, only this time it was him and Niklaus. When he found out that Nik had spread a rumour that witches were killing people for a sacrifice. One of which included Celeste.

"Niklaus I'll kill you, you damn basterd " he snapped and pinned me against the wall, okay now he needs to sleep.

"Sleep, Elijah. shhhhh" i place my hand on his head and his eyes fluttered as his gripped released. I pushed him over to the bed and laid him down as his eyes fluttered shut. i took in deep breaths, the like never before i had my first vision. Nik was being attacked by vampires and was loosing.

"No!" i yelled raising my arms i focused on Nik and saw him smile like he knew i was there. two witches could play that game because i felt more power and memories this time it was from Qetsiyah. She was passing her magic to me. i gave him the strength and power of two hybrids and two witches.

He stopped and i held my power. i couldn't here what was said but i saw Marcel bowing before him. I smiled and came back. I looked down at Elijah and smiled seeing his peaceful features and waited.

A few hours later his fever broke and he began to return to normal. i laid my hand across his cheek and woke him up.

"Hey." i smiled

"have i died" i laughed

"no, i simply let you sleep it off. Your fever is gone and your wound is healed." he sat up and kept a hold of my hand.

"thank you for not leaving me"

"you can be idiotic but i love you and i would never leave you" i placed a chaste kiss on his lips.

"come, Hayley is outside" we stood up and left.

"Good Evening" they turned to us.

"Elijah you're better" Hayley nodded

"yes, Bethany made me sleep, the fever and wound have both gone." i yawned leaning my head on Elijah's shoulder.

"cover it up and be careful" i heard

"what happened?" Elijah asked

"i just me a part of my family" Hayley answered, i then felt myself being lifted up and taken away.

"Bethany, wake up we're back" i opened my eyes and smiled at the mansion

"morning" i hummed

"Bethany?" i looked back at Hayley in the back seat "can i ask you something?"

"sure"

"why do you have so much faith in Klaus after everything he's done?" i sighed and turned more to face her.

"because he cares. In his own way he does, you can see it when he want to make your daughter a Princess give her the very best she deserves. Or when he flies of the handle when someone hurts me. He does care, I've seen it. Apart from my Mum and Sophia he is the only blood family i have left that is willing to listen and care for me. That puts in his own sick twisted way family above all. He can be and ass but he's an ass that cares." i got out of the car and went inside the house. I got something to eat and i over heard the heartbreak in Nik's voice. Rebekah had betrayed him and Elijah thought he's thought for his daughter were not pure. He then came out.

"Nik!" i call he stops and turns around i hug him.

"you may have arguments and fallings out. But they're still you family" i pull away to look at him

"you are like a brother i never had, i know you're mad but please try to forgive them at some point, forever is a long time to hold a grudge."  he kissed my temple

"you are welcome at the compound anytime okay. Don't be a stranger i want to see you little sister and my nephew grow." i nod

"Seen as you're a King of New Orleans, can this little sister promise you something and ask for something"

"anything."

"i promise that as your little sister, distant niece and sister in law. That as long as you don't push me away i will not abandon you." i saw a tear drop

"and what do you ask"

"that my hybrids move to town, close to home. I would feel a lot more safer with them around. I know your King but those vampires won't so easily be loyal." he sighs.

"of course Little one, of course" he lets go and leaves Elijah comes out and so does Rebekah.

"where is my daughter?" i ask

"Pippa has her" i nod , i then pinned Bekah to a wall

"what the hell, Bekah. Could you be anymore stupid?" i let her go "I'm so disappointed" i shook my head and left.
