❝so what happened to no one's gonna turn humans to vampires?❞ yuta said, sipping on a pack of animal blood as he gave ten a look.

the short vampire showed a pout before rubbing his nape and looking away out of guilt. ❝i really didn't mean it.❞

❝no changing unless you asked permission.❞ yuta once again reminded him, rubbing off ten's mistake on his face. ❝did you ask?❞

chuckling nervously, he gathered the guts to look at yuta in eye. ❝do i have too, really? i mean he's my father—❞ and the japanese was obviously not amused.

yuta sipped aggressively on the pack of animal blood he stole from ten's fridge to vent out his frustration and disappointment at the short vampire. anyways, it's not only yuta who's disappointed at what ten had done, both taeyong and jaehyun were present at the vampire's house and they were no where near happy when ten broke of the news. ten stood there with his eyes on the happy vampire that's playing with his son, admiring at how his skin was glowing under the sun.

❝what did they say?❞ taeyong asked worriedly as he turned to his lover.

jaehyun placed down his phone back inside his pocket after making a call and gave taeyong a nod. ❝they'll be here any minute.❞

overhearing their conversation, ten raised a brow at them. ❝who did you call?❞

❝mark and donghyuck.❞ jaehyun simply answered. ❝probably also going to bring their son.❞

❝why did you call them!?❞ the short vampire started to whine and made incoherent hand gestures to show how uncomfortable he is upon knowing that. he and donghyuck weren't the best of friends. that guy almost exposed him to his father after finding out that he did it with a human. he hated donghyuck's guts and he knows that the other hates him as well.

❝he knows well on how to tame johnny than any of us here.❞ taeyong stated, staring off to a distance where johnny and twenty were playing.

their hearts suddenly dropped when johnny had made a move on throwing twenty on air but quickly catching him to the other side. they all glared at ten and the short vampire only sighed.

jaehyun clicked his tongue, not really knowing what to do this situation anymore. ❝mark was human and you all know that. it was donghyuck who changed him but unlike ten here,❞

rolling his eyes, jaehyun just had to throw a shade on him. ❝yeah, he asked permission from my father.❞

❝and they had chan when mark turned to a vampire.❞ jaehyun continued.

finishing the pack yuta had been sipping and planning to get another from the shorter's fridge, ❝your father can't really resist donghyuck.❞ he said.

❝who can?❞ taeyong chuckled, ❝he's such a sunshine to all of us.❞

ten groaned at all the compliments they are giving to someone who almost betrayed him. ❝and also an annoying brat.❞

❝you're just bitter that almost everyone favors him.❞ yuta said after he rushed inside the house and getting two packs of animal blood. he then called out for the, once, human and threw the pack at him. ❝johnny, catch!❞

the japanese mayhaps threw it a little too far to the woods that johnny had to bring twenty along with him as he sprinted as quickly as he can to catch the red pack that yuta gave him. after doing it successfully, he went back running back at them and sipped on the pack happily like a big baby.

❝well that's because he goes with the rules,❞ jaehyun said, watching taeyong go towards johnny to wipe the blood dripping down from his lips. ❝not like you who breaks them.❞

scoffing, ten turned to them with a look of annoyance. ❝he's just lucky that he got to convince my father with his love for mark!❞ he told them, ❝and my father was also in a good mood that time.❞

raising a brow, yuta gave the frustrated vampire a teasing smile. ❝then why don't you go up to your father and confess all of these to him. you might be able to convince him.❞

jaehyun nodded his head, agreeing with the japanese. ❝and he might be in a good mood.❞

with a pout, ten huffed as he crossed his arms and divert his eyes anywhere but them. ❝i can't, i have been breaking too much rules.❞

just then, they had heard noises coming from the woods.

hearing rustling sounds from the woods, the vampires then stood there in caution. ten quickly sprinted towards johnny and their baby, hiding them behind his  back. yuta started to show flames from his fingers as he scanned the area, jaehyun and taeyong were focusing on where the sound is coming from, and johnny stood there hugging twenty very tight who had his head buried on his neck.

moments later, yuta snapped his head behind him and didn't hesitate to throw the flame from his finger. all of them watched how the tree was caught on fire and moments later, two familiar figures showed up from the fire. one carrying a child while the other putting out the fire that had caught in his jacket.

❝you might want to put that out before you cause forest fire.❞ a tanned male said with his bright smile on show.

❝oh,❞ taeyong heaved out a relieving sigh upon knowing who had come for them. ❝it's just you guys.❞

the tanned male pouted at them, ❝we wanted to surprise you in silence but mark here just had to step to each branch and break them!❞

the slightly tall one, standing beside the tanned male, that's carrying their child chuckled. ❝sorry, i keep on slipping.❞

ten glared at them, especially at the tanned male who welcomed himself as if he was really invited. well, he basically is since jaehyun called him but if it were for then to decide, calling him over would be the last thing he'd do. the smiling vampire that was competing with the sun diverted his attention to ten and he could see how angry he looked while looking at him.

❝you don't seem to look happy seeing me,❞ he said with a smile that's plastered on his face. ❝ten hyung.❞

❝is it that obvious, donghyuck?❞ ten shot back, not even trying to act nice towards him even though taeyong asked him through his thoughts.

johnny stood behind them with his heart racing. they were two unfamiliar vampires to him so he can't let his guard down. although, they looked like they are good friends with yuta, jaehyun, and taeyong. not with ten though. ten looked like he despised the tanned male.

so lost in his thoughts, johnny had just realized that twenty was clinging to him and had his body shiver in fear. ❝hey?❞

❝i'm scared.❞ his tiny voice whispered out only for johnny to hear. ❝w-who are they, daddy giant?❞

he was also scared, but johnny didn't want to admit that out loud. he just can't process the mess he had signed up to. not knowing what to say, since he also didn't know them that well, he just rubbed circles behind the little vamp's back before having his eyes at them.

only to lock eyes with the tanned male, who goes by the name of donghyuck.

the two stared at each other till donghyuck showed an amusing smirk.

❝ah, the newborn.❞

❝see,❞ taeyong sat next to ten who had been distancing himself the whole time. ❝donghyuck is getting along well with them.❞

he didn't want to admit it but, taeyong was right. eyes focusing on them, ten could see the smiles on their faces as they played. donghyuck even taught johnny how to control his strength since everything he holds would always break. even a slight clench, like the pack of animal blood, it bursted in his hand. even twenty was getting along with donghyuck and mark's child.

glancing at ten for a short while, ❝don't tell me you're still mad at him.❞ taeyong frowned.

with a smile, a genuine on in fact, ten shook his head as he stood up from the stairs that leads up to the front door. ❝not that much anymore.❞

maybe he just had to let go of the past. after all, they are starting anew. taeyong stood along with him, feeling proud of what ten has become. he did make mistakes, and broke a lot of rules, but he's taking responsibility to all of it and he's also trying to fix the situation. that's something that he applauded for.

❝they are playing dodge ball,❞ taeyong placed his hands on his pocket and turned to see ten who had a competitive look on. ❝want to join?❞

running a hand through his hair, there's no way ten would back out at such game. ❝i always win in that.❞

approaching to the vampires that were playing dodge ball in the most innocent and like a kid's play it is, they had all their heads turned to ten who walked towards them full of pride. that's when they knew that they had to step up their game. donghyuck stood their, holding the ball, and then gave the short vampire a small smile who surprisingly smiled back at him.

❝hyuck, pass me the ball.❞ ten said, catching the ball without sweat that donghyuck threw a little bit too hard.

with everyone gathered in the middle, ten and jaehyun that were assigned at each ends had their warm up before they started the games without anyone deciding for the rules. not like they needed any, this game is much more fun without abiding the rules.

❝better dodge the ball or you're gonna be—❞ ten's eyes quickly went to yuta who already had a plan in mind. having a sly smirk on, ten had read his thoughts and already found a target. ❝breaking a bone!❞

the yuta widened his eyes when the ball went towards him, everyone had already sprinted away from him. no one even bothered to drag him along. clicking his tongue, yuta twisted his body to the side and was proud at himself for almost being the first one to lose. that would be so embarrassing knowing that he always does well in games.

taking his tongue out like a kid, yuta mocked ten who still had a smirk on his face. ❝you almost got me.❞

❝yuta, out!❞

widening his eyes, he felt the ball touch him from his back very softly. the japanese then turned around only to see the ball levitating and a jung jaehyun smiling in glee. the vampire was taken aback by it and can't help but complain. ❝is that even allowed!?❞

mark shrugged, being the only one to remind yuta. ❝we didn't make any rules.❞

❝and even if we did,❞ jaehyun eyed taeyong with a wink. yuta pouted as he moved to the side with sad steps, watching them and is very ready to welcome the next target. ❝i'd still be breaking that!❞

taeyong scoffed, knowing that jaehyun planned to hit him with the ball. not moving from his place, he locked gazes with his lover and the next thing they new was the ball being thrown up in the air, targeting no one and also not landing perfectly on ten's hands. the short vampire groaned as he had to run and catch the ball that jaehyun threw quite far, with the help of taeyong controlling him.

happily hopping on the other side, taeyong released jaehyun from his control. jaehyun then slapped his forehead after realizing that taeyong was smart enough to control him. ❝shouldn't have looked at him.❞

with furrowed brows, ten hadn't came back yet after a few seconds. even taeyong was worried because he made sure not to throw that far. it probably ended up inside the woods but ten could have caught it by now. donghyuck closed his eyes and saw an image of a ball zooming towards johnny.

❝john—❞ just before he could go and warn johnny for it, the ball went quickly straight and might have hit the tall giant on the forehead. ❝oh, damn.❞

❝johnny, out!❞ ten shouted as he came running out from the woods with a proud smile.

the male that had been hit straight to the forehead by a ball groaned in pain, the red mark of the ball was there. it were him being human, that could have caused death for him. with yuta dragging him out, johnny carefully stood up while massaging his forehead. that was one heck of a dodge ball they are playing.

❝do you guys always play like that?❞ he asked yuta who's busy cheering for them.

❝trust me,❞ the japanese let out a chuckle as he was reminded of all the games they had played. ❝we have done worse.❞

it frightened johnny a bit, especially after seeing ten showing no mercy.

with hitting no one, jaehyun caught the ball pretty smoothly and was about to throw it towards donghyuck's direction with some twists and turns knowing that the sunshine can see through the future, mark got ahead on his plan. with full force, mark had stomped his foot on the ground that caused a slight shaking on the surface but it was more than enough for jaehyun to slip just when he was throwing the ball.

instead of having it go to ten's direction, it went to where the kids are playing in  silence. well, jaehyun was laid flat on the ground, not seeing what was happening.

❝you're quite shy, aren't you?❞ chan started a conversation at the little vamp that's helping him stack the blocks.

twenty stared at him for a few seconds before looking away with heat taking over his cheeks. not saying a word, he nodded his head gave chan the blocks that he needed. smiling at the cuteness, chan dropped the block from his other hand and went to ruffle the little vamp's soft hair. he then let out a coo when twenty leaned to the touch.

❝you're cute—❞

"chan!"

chan turned to his left after he was busy messing twenty's hair up and saw a ball coming fast towards them. just when he was about to carry twenty up, the little vamp froze from his place when he felt a familiar threatening scent.

donghyuck widened is eyes when he saw an image of a vampire, an uninvited one, going towards their way. running as fast as he could towards his son and twenty, he was halted when he felt the presence coming near.

❝chan, bring twenty with you and—❞

everything happened in a blink of eye and suddenly, a vampire appeared in front of the kids and blocked them from the ball. scoffing, the uninvited guest was disappointed to see their game stopping. he was actually enjoying watching them from afar.

the kids that were covered behind the unknown vampire stayed there with chan hugging twenty that's shaking once again in fear. it was the same scent he smelled during when he was at jeffrey's house.

jaehyun just got up from the ground with a curse, giving a dirty look at mark. but when he noticed that everyone had their attention somewhere, he followed his eyes to where he was surprised to see a vampire he never knew he would encounter this early.

❝xiaojun?❞ he then turned to look at ten and the male could only stand there in shock.

were they in trouble? obviously.
