the uninvited vampire let out a sigh as he held the ball in his hands while receiving glares from the other, he wanted to join them in playing but that wasn't his job why he was there. neither was hurting them a task to do, he just came there in peace.

turning his head around, he had came in eye contact with someone who is hiding in a boy's arms. he could see how scared he was just by looking at him, his body shaking, lips quivering, and teary eyes. he didn't mean any harm but he couldn't blame the kid as to why he was terrified of his presence there.

turning back to the adults, xiaojun had his eyes widened when a tall one came rushing towards him and had his hand on his neck, threatening to choke him if he does something. so much for not causing pain to anyone, this vampire was crossing the line.

❝who are you and why are you scaring my son?❞ the male growled, unable hold his strength back.

xiaojun could then guess that he was a newborn. smirking, his eyes went to a short vampire that's still standing there in shock. it looks like ten had not just broken one rule. it's not a surprise though, everyone knew he likes to rebel ever since he was a kid.

taeyong took a step forward, hoping to compose johnny down. ❝now, johnny, let go of him.❞ he could see that xiaojun won't hurt anyone unless someone would start a fight first.

and that someone might be johnny who tightened his grip on the vampire's neck.

glaring at the tall one, xiaojun had his eyes glistened at him while trying to cause him pain. keyword, trying. the problem that shocked him was johnny not looking hurt or anything, it was as if he wasn't affected with his ability to cause anyone pain. that left him no choice but to use his strength and hit johnny by the stomach, having him thrown away from him.

donghyuck widened his eyes and quickly sprinted towards the direction to where johnny went flying at, catching him with a stumble.

johnny looked more pissed off than ever, wanting to get back at xiaojun for throwing him away like that. taeyong panicked when he was having a hard time controlling the vampire, not having a clue why. his eyes darted towards jaehyun and the other just nodded, turning to mark as if he was giving him an order. mark quickly went towards johnny and held him back before he goes rushing towards xiaojun and cause more trouble.

rubbing his neck that johnny put pressure on, xiaojun let out a cough. jaehyun approached the vampire with a gulp, wanting to know his purpose there. ❝what are you doing here?❞

glaring up at jaehyun, xiaojun held back the urge to hurt jaehyun as he thought that he'd attack him like how johnny did. he could then feel taeyong's gaze on him that snapped him out from his plans towards jaehyun. ❝you know i only appear when there's trouble.❞

turning back around, the little vampire was still looking like he's some kind of monster.

sighing, ❝and that's trouble right there.❞ xiaojun told him.

jaehyun wanted to convince him, ❝the child does no harm. he hasn't caused any—❞

not listening to any of jaehyun's words, xiaojun went past by the male and walked off towards the short vampire that had been quiet ever since he arrived. he stopped by in front of him and stared straight to his eyes, fear visible in those red bloody orbs. ❝your father wants to meet you before full moon or else,❞

he eyed every single vampire present there, especially the newborn who's killing him with his glare. he still couldn't shake the fact off that he couldn't cause pain to him and if he hadn't caught johnny off guard then that newborn could have ripped his head off. thinking about the possibilities made xiaojun shake.

❝he'll be the one to come and visit you.❞ he continued, looking away and gave ten one last glance before disappearing right in front of their eyes.

they all stood there in silence before taeyong stomped his way towards johnny and off to scold the vampire while doing at it. donghyuck gave the newborn worried eyes while mark finally got to let go of johnny to whom he's having a hard time holding back.

❝what had gotten inside your mind!?❞ taeyong started with a scoff, ❝who told you to hurt him?❞

❝he was scaring my son!❞ johnny shot back.

❝he could have done worse if it weren't for us holding you back!❞

donghyuck stood in between the two, hoping to stop them from arguing. ❝hyung, he's still not yet used to being what he is right now. don't blame him for this, it's just his instincts kicking in.❞

taeyong took a deep breath, donghyuck did have a point. he then stood there with his eyes closed while massaging his temples, composing himself down as it wasn't the time to shout at johnny. jaehyun at the two, shaking his head at them, before approaching ten who's still processing at what just happened.

❝hey, are you okay?❞

being honest, ten shook his head slowly. ❝jaehyun, what am i going to do?❞

❝the truth is bound to come out.❞ yuta answered the question that wasn't even for him. ❝i guess it's time for you to explain to your father.❞

he doesn't think that his father is not in a good mood now, knowing that he had broken a lot of laws that aren't supposed to be broken. what's worrying and scaring ten more is what was going to happen to both of his son and to johnny. he didn't want anything to happen to them.

❝and if things goes wrong then,❞ yuta showed the frightened vampire a bright smile. ❝we are always here to fight for you.❞

taeyong paused at what the japanese had declared, not wanting to agree with it. ❝no one is hurting anyone.❞

the japanese shrugged, ❝it is happening if things turn out the other way.❞ he then gave each one a look. ❝who's with me?❞

❝you know,❞ taeyong couldn't help but heave out a sigh at the sight set for him. ❝i never agreed to this.❞

without a sweat, mark carried a boulder over to johnny and placed it between them. everyone circling them as he cracked his knuckles with a smirk. johnny stood there looking clueless, actually doubting if he could win against someone who's strength is beyond any vampire out there.

❝we first have to find out what johnny is good at.❞ donghyuck said, pretty much excited to know where this is going. he then went behind the tall vampire and massaged his back. ❝remember when i said to control yourself? you don't have to do it now.❞

mark pouted at the sight of his husband siding with someone other than him. ❝are you not going to support me at all?❞

the tanned male gave him a sweet smile, ❝i know you will win, love.❞ he wiggled his brows as he reminded his lover that he could see a vision of the future.

❝wow,❞ johnny rolled his eyes. ❝thanks for spoiling the obvious.❞

❝let's start the arm wrestle!❞ yuta exclaimed, ❝with mark obviously winning.❞

johnny gasped in disbelief. ❝does someone here actually believe that i can stand a chance?❞

ten, who's standing right next to him, placed a hand on the tall male's shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile. ❝i do.❞

hearing that made johnny's heart skip a beat. he then looked away with his face all flushed and had started to place his elbow down the boulder which mark had carried. mark started to do the same before they had locked their hands together, yuta holding it till the match started.

❝start!❞

❝you know, i'll go easy on you knowing that you haven't been a vampire for a while.❞ mark said, just using half his strength as johnny was looking like he was about to blow up any second now.

donghyuck nudged ten who's frowning. ❝it would be funny if mark loses, right?❞ the tanned male just laughed at the shorter one when he gave him a glare.

johnny composed himself for a moment, taking a deep breath, before putting more strength in his arm. mark widened his eyes when johnny moved his hand down to his side. not wanting to lose, even though he wad quite cocky the first minute, mark started to get serious knowing that he'd have to use his strength. johnny would actually be winning if mark just hadn't put more effort in the match. making his final move, mark smirked as he harshly slammed johnny's hand down on his side, leaving a crack on the boulder.

❝that hurt!❞ johnny whined like a kid, checking if his hand was still on a proper state.

mark let out a chuckle, having donghyuck cheering by his side. ❝you're actually strong.❞

❝yeah,❞ donghyuck nodded, knowing that mark will have a hard time beating johnny if he doesn't use his full strength. ❝you could have lost.❞

❝but i didn't,❞ mark then leaned forward to give his lover a peck on the lips. ❝did i?❞

ten took hold of johnny's hand and gave it a soft kiss, smiling at the tall male who was dramatic enough to have his eyes all glossy. ❝you did well.❞

❝and i almost broke my hand.❞ johnny said with a whine that made ten chuckle.

❝how does that make us find out what johnny's ability is?❞ jaehyun said, knowing the fact that mark could have lost in that match.

yuta raised his index finger, ❝he surely doesn't have a strength like mark does.❞ he then gasped cutely while clinging to johnny, of course noticing ten's deadly glare on him. ❝are you perhaps my opposite!?❞

jaehyun and taeyong stared at each before pulling yuta away from johnny who looked uncomfortable at the japanese that's clinging to him. the japanese threw his hands everywhere as he wanted to know if johnny really is a water bender. swiftly going under the two's hold, yuta went back to johnny and held the male's arm. he then started to release a warm temperature from his hand, hoping that johnny would panic and suddenly pour water on him. the temperature was rising and yuta wondered why johnny looked unfazed by it.

❝what are you guys doing?❞

they all spun their heads around and saw two familiar vampires coming out from the woods. johnny widened his eyes and was readied in a position to fight once he got a clear view as to who came to pay them a visit.

❝hey there taeil!❞ taeyong greeted, eyeing the one beside the vampire whom he called as taeil. ❝and doyoung who tried to kill me.❞

❝come on,❞ doyoung groaned, not wanting to earn another scolding session from taeil. ❝it wasn't my fault why there's a human roaming around.❞

that human doyoung is talking about was just standing there and sniffing, doyoung scrunched his nose upon smelling a new scent coming from him.

❝and looks like he's a vampire now.❞ doyoung then turned to ten. ❝great job.❞

the shorter male groaned as he rubbed his face with his hand. ❝i know what i did, okay?❞

taeil laughed at their interaction before scanning the area, looking like they were having fun before they have arrived. ❝what did we miss?❞

yuta tapped his chin as he started to act like he was thinking. ❝you mayhaps missed the dodge ball of our lives.❞

❝and mark almost losing in arm wrestling.❞ jaehyun said with a snort, earning a playful punch by the arm from mark.

taeil gave them a smile. he could smell a human coming from the house but he didn't want to bring that topic up. ❝what are you doing now?❞

❝finding out what johnny's ability is.❞ taeyong said but looking at johnny as if he already had an idea as to what the male's ability is. turning to yuta, he could see that the japanese also had a clue on what it is but was still not sure about it.

doyoung eyed the newborn with a smile. he then walked over to the human that turned to vampire and pulled his hand out for a handshake, ❝i'm sorry for attacking you last time. we haven't introduced ourselves properly.❞

johnny hesitated to take the vampire's hand, remembering that he had almost got him that day, but seeing everyone gets along with him well, it wouldn't hurt to befriend him. ❝i'm johnny.❞

seeing that johnny had his hand clasped with his, doyoung took this chance to send a full blast of electricity through his hand, seeing how hurt johnny would get if he does so. he then quickly removed his hand from johnny's with a knowing smile, taeyong widening his eyes at what had happened.

❝i knew it!❞ taeyong clapped his hands in excitement. that excitement then died down once he saw doyoung's gaze on ten and the next moment, doyoung quickly took hold of the vampire's arm that made ten groan in pain very loudly. ❝what the heck, doyoung!❞

it alarmed johnny, not knowing what to do, but subconsciously had felt a warm aura being released from his as he focused on ten's arm which doyoung was electrifying. ten then panted as he couldn't feel any pain anymore despite of doyoung still holding his arm. he raised his head and saw that johnny had something to do about it.

laughing out, doyoung turned to them as he lets go of ten's arm. ❝yep, he's a shield alright.❞
