jaehyun's head shot up once he felt something tingling from his insides, knowing that it wasn't near from something good. ❝taeyong.❞

he had a feeling, a strong one. his guts was telling him that something was wrong. that something is happening to his lover.

the glass that just fell down from the tiled floor proved his intuition.

❝oh dear,❞ the man let out a small laugh as he eyed one of the servants that caused an accident, having one of the precious glass shatter to pieces. his bloody red and intimidating eyes, with his still smile, had only put its attention to the servant, scaring the life out of her. ❝you might want to clean that up.❞

not to mention the servant being a human.

❝dad,❞ ten heaved a sigh and went to block his father from the servant's view, stopping him from scaring her. ❝it was an accident.❞

the man frowned as he saw his own son helping the human servant, not quite liking the kind action especially when it's a human that's receiving the help. the man slowly turned his head to his weapon and gave him a soft smile, signaling him something that only the two of them could understand.

xiaojun nodded his head as he motioned his fingers to the guards, ordering them to bring the human outside and to a room that her shout can't be heard to anyone inside the citadel.

❝where are you taking her?❞ ten, with furrowed brows, watched them bring the servant out. ❝let her go.❞

❝clumsiness is not needed here.❞ the man answered, gesturing his hand for his son to sit back down rather than helping the servant pick the shattered glass pieces.

ten knew what they were going to do and he wasn't going to let that happen.

seeing the determination to save the human, the man gave the vampire at the corner a look. ❝xiaojun.❞

taking a step forward, ten then had his knees down on the ground once he felt pain surging everywhere in his body. he manage to turn his head towards xiaojun with a struggle, cursing thousands of times at the vampire who's giving his body an illusion to feel pain.

❝ten!❞ jaehyun stood up and had a sword from one of the guards elevated, eyes fuming towards xiaojun who's focused on making ten feel pain.

❝j-jae..❞ finding it hard to breathe, ten did his very best to let out a voice to stop jaehyun from worsening the situation. ❝stop, d-don't.❞

just as jaehyun was about to charge the sword towards xiaojun, an impact had stopped him from doing so and the sword that was once in the air had abruptly dropped down the ground. jaehyun was harshly pinned on the large pillar that's supporting the structure, making the cemented pillar crack at the impact.

he found it hard to catch his breathe, hands trying to make its way to the hand that's strangling him. he was lifted up to the ground while still being strangled, finding it hard to escape.

❝ah!❞ ten screamed in pain, feeling his body burn as if it was thrown in fire.

❝it's a waste jaehyun, you could have been one of us.❞ the man said, lifting his glass of red wine up and taking a sip of it before continuing. he eyed the two that's suffering, smiling at the entertaining sight. ❝xiaojun, yangyang, stop.❞

at the same time, both jaehyun and ten were saved from death. xiaojun had already had his eyes away from ten. yangyang, the vampire who just barged inside the room so suddenly and strangled jaehyun had already let jaehyun catch his breathe.

the two, jaehyun and ten, were on the ground breathing heavily. they had thought of their life ending that moment, it scared them.

the man enjoyed the sight though. ❝now, where were we?❞

jaehyun had his eyes widened when he felt it again, the gut feeling. ❝taeyong..❞ he said his lover's name in a whisper.

not hearing jaehyun but had subconsciously read his thoughts, ten suddenly had his mind off the burning pain he is still suffering and now turned his full attention to jaehyun who's worried. ❝why, what's wrong?❞ leading to ten also getting worried for taeyong's state.

also for johnny and his son.

❝he's in danger.❞

❝who on earth gave you permission to go out of the fucking house!?❞ taeyong nagged, swearing from the bottom of his heart to johnny.

the human didn't know what to say, he was at fault and he admitted it. just as he was about to explain himself, he had just opened his mouth and he could already see the other vampire pouncing on taeyong who caught it off guard.

taeyong held both of his hand on the vampire's shoulders and planned to push him away but failed to do so as the vampire already had electrified him.

seeing that made johnny panic from his place, ❝taeyong!❞

hearing the human's shout had caught the vampire's attention and now averted his target from taeyong to the human who's back had already touched the large tree from always backing behind.

taeyong shut his eyes tight as he endured the electrifying pain, taking hold of the other vampire's arm before he goes and attack johnny. ❝look at me!❞ he asked, his voices shaking as he was in pain. ❝doyoung, listen!❞

with hungry eyes, the vampire turned his head back to taeyong which had resulted him from not being able to use his ability and got off from taeyong who's down on the ground. standing up, he moved aside and taeyong took this chance to run towards johnny who's clinging to the tree as if his life depends on it.

❝on the count of three, i want you to run.❞ taeyong said, eyes still on doyoung and hands looking for johnny and holding him like protecting his own son. ❝one,❞

johnny then gasped once remembering. ❝where's twenty!?❞

that caused for taeyong to lose focus. ❝you even brought the kid with you!?❞ he turned around with his brows furrowed and eyes sending daggers to johnny. ❝what the actual fuck, johnny seo!?❞

taeyong was disappointed that he didn't even get to notice the kid's smell, only was aware of johnny and went on protective mode towards him. now, seems like he has to protect two kids.

❝look out!❞

johnny pulled taeyong with him as he ran to the other side while the vampire, that wasn't under taeyong's control anymore, charged towards them. seeing the little vamp, johnny quickly ran over to him as he still had taeyong's wrist on hold. letting go of taeyong, johnny carried twenty and burried the kid's head on his shoulder, feeling twenty shake in fear.

❝stop!❞ taeyong blocked johnny from the other vampire and gave him a look, threatening to control him again once he takes a step forward. ❝doyoung, i want you to control yourself.❞

johnny locked eyes with the vampire and was the first one to look away after a couple of seconds, hiding the kid from the vampire that's breathing heavily with his hungry eyes and his body tempted to just suck all of johnny's blood that's lingering in his nose.

❝what is he doing here?❞ the vampire spoke, clearly was doing his very best to control himself from attacking the human, just as what taeyong asked him to do.

❝he is ten's—❞ taeyong paused for a moment, almost exposing johnny in front of himseld. ❝babysitter.❞

❝ten has a child!?❞ doyoung asked in a surprised tone.

❝sshh,❞ taeyong hushed him down, moving closer. ❝do not tell this to anyone.❞

❝i smell..❞ doyoung closed his eyes and let his nose do all the work. ❝a human.❞

for a moment there, taeyong's heartbeat stopped, he was nervous that doyoung would find out about ten's son being a half vampire. that would also then give johnny an idea of the kid's other parent being a human. ❝that's johnny.❞

with taeyong being there, it might probably had messed doyoung's sense of smell. also, the little vampire was sticking to johnny that theie scents had already mixed. taeyong just got lucky that it was just doyoung that johnny is facing and not the vampire's husband. that would completely expose everything. although, doyoung's husband was better at controlling than doyoung himself. all he has to do was to keep the kid far from doyoung. ❝there's also another human nearby.❞

❝no, no..❞ surely, that's twenty he is smelling. unless,

lucas came to pay a visit.

they were in grave danger and taeyong knew very well what they'll go through once this reaches to their king. ❝johnny when i tell you to run, you—❞

taeyong hadn't had the time to finish his sentence when the unguarded vampire came zooming towards them. not having enough time to think of anything, taeyong pushed johnny rather harshly out of the way and went to wrap his arms around doyoung who's out of control.

being thrown to hard, johnny had his back met on a large tree. groaning in pain, that didn't mind johnny at all. what he needed to do and to prioritize first is the little vampire.

he placed a hand down on the ground, not seeing a sharp edge of a branch, which was covered with leaves, that fell when he was thrown to the tree.

johnny then let out a hiss in pain when he had seen his finger being scraped by the branched. the wound wasn't that deep but it still hurt as fuck.

the little vampire removed his head on the human's neck and widened his eyes seeing the human injured. ❝daddy, your hand!❞

seeing the blood dripping down, johnny still managed to show a reassuring smile to the little vampire. ❝don't worry little vamp, it's nothing.❞

❝but—❞

the two's attention went to taeyong who's barely holding doyoung back, seeing that he's going wild over the blood that's dripping down to johnny's finger.

❝blood,❞ the vampire growled, using all his might to push taeyong away. ❝i smell blood!❞

❝run, johnny!❞ taeyong doubts that he could still hold doyoung back any longer. seeing that he was fully out of control caused by johnny's blood, taeyong wished that he could call for help.

he can, actually. but he won't. that would lead for ten to know what on earth is happening here and he didn't want for ten to find out.

with shaky legs, johnny stood up while carrying a worried kid. ❝but what about you?❞

❝why the heck are you worrying about me?❞ taeyong couldn't control doyoung as the vampire was having his focus on the dripping blood, the wound on johnny's hand. ❝i can deal this with my eyes closed.❞

or maybe not.

taeyong was taken aback when doyoung had switched their position and now headlocked taeyong, making johnny halt from his place. twenty, that's watching, was now frightened and had his arms wrapped around johnny's neck securely. johnny's head was blank, he didn't know what to do but seeing the little vampire shaking in fear, it made him think what his priority is.

❝hey, it's going to be alright.❞ he whispered, already in a position to run away.

his sense of hearing being heightened, doyoung averted his bloody hungry eyes to the human who just spoke and planned on leaving.

doyoung frowned. he can't let his meal escape.

seeing the vampire rushing towards him after letting go of taeyong who is now having a hard time breathing, johnny knew very well that he had no chance of escaping but he will do anything for the little vampire. he will do everything and will go to such extent for twenty.

just then, a rush of air snapped him from his thoughts. a figure appeared in front of johnny and it was effective enough to stop doyoung from his tracks. it wasn't taeyong, the figure is smaller compared to the vampire's size.

❝kim doyoung.❞

taeyong, who's now on the ground widened his eyes at someone's arrival. he was expecting for this specific vampire to appear but because of everything happening, he had it out of his head. ❝you came late.❞

the vampire who just arrived raised a brow at taeyong, ❝i apologize in behalf of being the fastest vampire.❞ he said as he rolled his eyes. ❝seriously, i apologize for what my husband caused.❞ turning around, his red eyes glittered once seeing johnny's fingers. ❝did he do that?❞

❝no.❞ taeyong said, standing up after having a moment on the ground. ❝johnny wasn't watching his surroundings and scraped his finger with a branch.❞ idiot, he said inside his head.

hearing that made the vampire who just arrived snort.

great, just great. can this day get any more better? he was surrounded not just one but three vampires. two are probably tamed and the other, well, doyoung still looked like he's ready to eat johnny alive. the human gulped and looked away from the vampire, not wanting to meet his eyes. fortunately for johnny, the vampire who claimed to be doyoung's husband then went to the vampire and took him by his hand.

❝we will get going then.❞ he said, giving the two of them a soft smile. ❝i'm sorry for the disturbance.❞

taeyong took this chance to get close to johnny, ❝it's okay taeil, it's not doyoung's fault.❞ he then gave johnny a glare. ❝right, johnny?❞

like a child being scolded by his mother, johnny nodded his head. ❝y-yes.❞

chuckling, the tamed vampire waved his hand as he pulled his frustrated husband with him. ❝we'll go then, say hi to ten for me.❞

in a blink of an eye, the two vampire had already disappeared from their sights and the trees rustling were the only thing they have heard. not until taeyong went towards johnny and held out his hand, making johnny look at it in confusion.

❝let's go home?❞

it was a surprise to see taeyong not getting mad at him.
