Chapter 12 | Predestined

Chapter 12 | Predestined ~ Edward C. Mason

It was know the end of school and I was a bit angry and Isabella Swan. Why? She was for to observant. I had tried to make a conversation with her but she had decided to ask me about my eyes.

Suddenly a vision clouded my mind-a vision from Alice. Elizabelle was sick. The family finally appeared and Alice looked really worried. "Edward we need to go-know." Alice said and I nodded in agreement getting in the car quickly.

"Agreed." I say and everyone filed in. After a couple of seconds of listening to their thoughts asking me what was happening I growled in annoyance, "Elizabelle is sick." I say as I took a sudden and graceful turn that left no scratches on my tablet.

They all looked worried know and I heard a car speeding behind us, it was Carlisle. "I texted him when I had the vision." Alice explained.

When we arrived wee got out, my dead heart aching from the sounds she was making, even if that was cliché. "W-Where m-my me-medicine's?" Elizabelle asked as she sobbed.

We walked upstairs and saw Esme holding a crying Elizabelle who's face was red and she was having trouble breathing. "Carlisle, we need her medicine's!" Esme said looking worried as Eliza reached for Jasper who took her and tried helping her calm down, even using his scent with the information that was given earlier.

We all heard her heart beating inconsistently, "Eliza, you need to calm down." Jasper whispered stroking her hair. We all heard as she whimpered.

"Jassie, Jassie, it hurts!" she cried looking up at her.

"What does darlin'?" he asked looking down at her.

She whimpered and tugged her hair, "We need to get her o the hospital." I say as Carlisle nodded in agreement. Jasper stood up and I gave him my jacket to cover Eliza from the wind as we ran with vampire speed and into my Volvo.

We sped away and when we arrived we ran inside in human speed and Carlisle looked at the secretary, "Tell Nurse Weber that I need her, please. Tell her it's an emergency." he said before we ran in going to his office and Jasper set Eliza on the desk.

Eliza screamed and held on tighter to her hair, "I hurs! I hurs!" she screamed. A knock sounded at the door and Carlisle opened it seeing Nurse Weber.

"Come in." Carlisle said hastily as he moved aside and she walked in.

"May I sta! May I sta!" Eliza screamed.

I looked at her and asked up, "Eliza?" I say and that's when I noticed: she couldn't hear us. "Carlisle, she can't hear." I say turning to him.

He looked shocked and ran up, Nurse Weber following behind. Suddenly Eliza screamed really loud her voice ringing in the air, and I was pretty sure that if I had a heart it would have stopped, just as our ears ached painfully due to our impeccable hearing.

Then her body collapsed on to the table her breathing still hard and her heart was starting to calm down, "She gone into rest. I guess her body wasn't able to stand all the pain she was saying to have." Nurse Weber said as she stroked Elizabelle's hair back, "Dr. Cullen, I think it would be best to lay her in a bed just in case."

Carlisle nodded, "'You're right, though I'd prefer a room close to me." he said as he picked up a bottle Eliza unconsciously knocked down. It was one of her pill bottle's.

Nurse Weber nodded, "Yes, sir, I'll go ask Bethany if she can get one." she said as she walked out muttering an excuse me to Jasper who was standing by the door eyes pitch black.

When the door shut Jasper looked up, "Do you not smell that?" he asked and we sniffed the air when I caught it.

Elizabelle's blood. I stepped back and cleared my throat, "She's bleeding." I muttered to Carlisle's confused thoughts.

He looked shocked and his thoughts turned to realization after awhile. He walked up to her and picked her up to see her ears bleeding as was her nose. He laid her back down and got some things to clean it up.

"Carlisle?" I ask once he finished, he turned to me raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, son?" he asked as there was a knock at the door again before it opened revealing Nurse Weber.

"Bethany said that room 207 is available, Dr. Cullen." she said as she stood by the door.

Carlisle smiled, "Thank you, Nurse Weber." he replied as Nurse Weber smiled and turned leaving us alone so she could prepare the room.

I looked at him so as to finish my question, "Why couldn't you give her, her medicine?"

He sighed, getting Elizabelle in his arms, "I studied the medicine, Edward. You were write, she shouldn't be taking that much medicine. But the thing is, her body is weak. Yet strong.

"At least that is what I have concluded. I need to do blood samples, experiment on it. But, Jasper, Edward, the strength of the medicine is so strong even adults are not able to withhold its capabilities." he said quietly as we walked by him, so that no one could hear.

"What are you saying?" Jasper asked but his thoughts showed he knew what he meant.

"I mean, there's a possibility that she will die-and soon, thus the reason I hadn't mentioned any of this in front of the girls or Emmett, the reason I had them stay back." he said and I heard, just as much as I saw, the pain he held.

It was midnight and I jumped into Isabella Swan's house. I have not a clue as to why, but I felt I needed to be close. However, I was not sure what it was that brought me here. I watched as Elizabelle turned and she fluttered her eyes open making me run out and shut the window in vampire speed. I hid in the tree's and looked at her.

She wiped her eye's with her fist and she yawned walking up to the window picking it up not even flinching from its noise only smiling. She climbed up looking back at Bella.

When she saw Bella was still asleep she crawled out, "I know you are there." she called quietly and for a moment I thought she was talking to me until a beautiful bird flew down.

It was a white dove. Eliza giggled, "Hi, Burry." she cooed to the bird giggling at its tweets. "I missed you today. I did not feel good. I had a heache, an my ears hurted a lot. I couldn't hear Jassie, Prince, and Carwisle talk to me. You remember them, Burry?

"I was really sad, I hurt their feelings." she said to the dove. She smiled sadly and I noticed tears streaming down her face, and I fought immensely with myself, trying not to wipe her tears away. "Okay," Eliza says breaking my thoughts, "I'll miss you Burry. Just like I miss everyone else. Tell them I will never ever forget them. Ever!"

As soon as she finished the bird chirped and flew away soon returning with a white rose, "Thank you. I love you. All of you." she says and the bird chirped flying away in my direction.

I caught her sight and for a moment I thought she saw me but she only smiled, waved, and grabbed the rose turning and went back in her bare feet touching the floor. She yawned covering her mouth and I smiled at her adorableness. She opened a drawer and set the rose in there before closing it again as she opened the drawer below it pulling out some socks with some cartoon characters on it.

She went back to the bed and put the socks on before she laid back and closed her eyes. "Nightie night, night." she said and a few seconds after the dark became to leave. "Good morning, light." she muttered and I heard her calmly breath.

And for a long moment I admired her, how was someone like her even possible? How could she like a demon when she herself is an angel? Yet, I was so happy she liked and trusted me, someone who would probably leave before she even lived her full life.

That was another thing: How could God, if there is one, take away such an angel so soon? An angel who has yet to show her full potential.

Someone who is predestined for death. . . .it couldn't be true. Her foreordination was so unfair, yet, deep down, I knew there were people out there who would switch places with her, not out of selflessness but rather with selfishness.

Our kind. My kind would. I sighed pinching the bridge of my nose before I sped back to the house so as to change.

anything to describe the scene so I picked that picture.
