AN ANSWER LONG AWAITED FOR...

Goodness, I miss this book. You have no idea; the number of times I've debated just ruining the entire story and writing a thousand fluffy sequels for #Spyderman...well, I'd be rich if I had a nickel for every time. Isn't that how the saying goes? We're going with it, screw it.

This isn't truly an update, not in a story sort of sense - no, unfortunately for you all, that's not what I'm here for. Actually, it's more just for a couple questions that have been pondered in a few of my comment sections.

So, it's come to my attention that you all are extremely curious to see what exactly was in the present Peter gave Freya. In fact, you all were so curious, you all came up with your own theories and ideas on just what was going on in Freya, Peter, and my mind.

Some ideas were extremely creative.

Some people thought I had just not come up with anything at all (hush don't expose me like that).

And some, actually all of the people who read that through, just want to know what was in the damn present.

So, let's explain. But first? We have to preface this, like always.

When I first wrote the Christmas Oneshot, where this whole gift debacle comes from, I had no fucking clue what was actually going to be the present. Seriously, of all the chapters, that and the final true ending had me up at night, wondering what to do. I didn't want to go cliche or get all mushy, and like, Peter's not exactly a billionaire so expensive jewels and all that was out of the question.

I doubt Freya would have wanted a diamond necklace anyways, so there was no point in going there.

In the end, I decided to just leave it open-ended because I could not think of anything. It wasn't until I had published it that I actually got to deciding - but at that point, it was up and so many people were already reading it and commenting and if I changed it, well, it would ruin it. Plus, I liked the element of mystery, so I kept it like that!

However, I do know many of you are dying of curiosity so here is the answer.

The gift that Peter Parker got Freya Knight was, indeed, a...

...box.

Not just a box, though; there were three things inside, at least how I pictured it. Warning; this might not be what you pictured, you might think it stupid or cheesy, but this is what's in the box so...yeah, just keep it nice. I want to know what you thought was inside, sure, but let's keep it nice.

One, a set of the original Star Wars trilogy.

It was funny because I came up with this and then like a day later saw a comment saying the exact same thing, which...was odd, I guess? But yes - originally this was something else, but I really liked this idea and thought it would fit. My idea with this is that Star Wars was a huge part of their life, originally meant to be more and just wasn't written out, and they had a bond over that. Peter didn't obviously know that Emily/Freya had never really watched a movie outside of the Red Room instructed strangeness and that Star Wars held a special place in her heart from him, but that it was a time they had spent together. And really, the first time they had spent time together that wasn't for the purpose of homework or working.

Two, a New York shirt.

Why? Well, Peter does know [in that particular case] that Emily was not from New York, only believing that she was from Romania and not the middle of Russia. I can picture this in my head though and this was the first thing I thought of honestly. It's stupid, sure, but a huge component of their relationship was built around her not knowing America at all and them having conversations about the differences. The NYC shirt is something I at least have seen a lot, obviously especially from people leaving New York; it's a popular tourist thing. Legit it would be the basic 'I heart NYC' shirt but come on, don't tell me you can't picture that.

Three, a framed picture of Peter and Freya/Emily.

Okay so yes, this is cheesy, but come on - it's a, less cheesy then I could have gone, and it would mean the world to Freya, you can't deny that. It would be simple but probably the gift that would mean the most to her - as in the ending, Freya even says that she could imagine their final moments like she had it replaying over and over again in her mind, and how she wished she could have at least a picture of Peter to have when she *spoiler but not really* died, and all that imagery tied in. It's something she could have with her, a good memory of her and Peter, and that's where I went with that. Hate on the sort of cheesiness of it all you want, but that's what I had in mind, and that's why.

And, while I'm at it, here are some other answers to questions that were asked!

Q | Was Inga actually Freya's mother?

Yeah. Sort of. Kind of. Yeah? It's hard to explain. In the end, she is, yes. Technically in the official book, it's left open-ended as I wanted it but in my "Meet my OC's" book, it does state how she is her mother and the fact that she is.

Was that meant to redeem her? No, not really. It was a sympathy thing but...gosh, I think Inga is too complicated to truly label changed. I grew to adore her and from that stemmed the desire to have a real connection to Freya, which is why she grew soft and then it was revealed that she was her mother. It's not meant to make you love her because she shouldn't be excused for the crimes - although in many ways they weren't truly all her fault - but rather just to show another side of her.

Q | Did Peter ever find the truth?

Now, in the alternate ending - I forget which one - there was a whole thing when he did, which did confuse people and I had a few people ask if he ever knew the truth or not.

But the truth is, in the actual ending, no. He never learned who Emily was and in the end, he lived a long happy life and only knew her as the girl from Romania who he could never quite figure out. Sorry; it was a heartbreak ending all the way through.

Q | What happened to Francesca?

She died. Sorry kids.

Q | What about Tony Stark?

I saw a few comments on this, where they said 'why couldn't he do anything about it' - the letters were sent out as she left America. Freya didn't know him and really only knew about him, and so she wasn't about to just hop her ass over to the Stark building and bombard him with her shenanigans, that would be a huge risk and danger for something that would probably not work. And after he got the letters, well, like it said he didn't believe it at first. When he did, it was too late.

And like they instructed, he never told Peter the truth. Even when he wanted to most.

Q | Did Freya die, or...?

*insert face palm here*

Yep, she died. She's not coming back, sorry kiddos. That's the end.

I think that's all the questions, but I am probably wrong - so, if you have any questions/comments/concerns/whatever, comment them here and I'll answer them now! Honestly, I've gotten so many new readers in the few months after finishing this, which blows my mind, and I get the confusion as I removed/edited a lot of the author's notes explaining some things.

If you have anything you want to know, or if I never saw your comment, let me know! And actually, while I'm at it - feel free to ask any questions you have for either this book or me or my Wattpad presence, and either I'll respond directly to your comment or I'll just make a separate Q&A based chapter for all of those. We'll see, I don't really know how many people will have questions/read this but...yeah, I'm just going to roll with it.

And, again, let me extend a warm thank you to everyone who reads this. Whether you were here from the beginning or just reading this today, or hell, seeing this ten years into the future, thank you. When I finished this, I had 200k reads, but at this point in time, I have 450k and 20k - that's crazy to me. I know I mention reads and numbers a shit tonne, but I never even thought people would want to read this book, and yet so many people comment or even reach out to me and say how much they loved this. That blows my mind, I had no idea when I started this or hell, even when I finished this, that it would get so much love. And I mean, it gets a fair amount of hate, sure, but the overwhelming amount of support and love-filled comments - that makes up for it any day.

Thank you for reading Little Spy and for reading this lil update of mine. Have a good morning/afternoon/night, you wonderful beings.

And hey, maybe I'll do some more of these in the future, just some random tidbits of information or a one-shot out of the blue? We'll see. I really do miss writing this book.

That's all, folks!
