Justified
Katara had a satisfied grin on her face as any time she and Zuko locked eyes he would immediately look away and get all flustered. It entertained her every time as he would get embarrassed and find himself lost for words. She didn't know a simple kiss on the cheek would make a soldier so shy.
"What's with you and solider boy making goo goo eyes at each other?" Jet leaned against the wall curiously, startling her.
"What?" Katara scoffed annoyed.
"You and scum, keep making eyes at each other, it's obvious," Jet raised a brow crossing his arms.
"Don't call him that, he has a name," she glared harshly.
"Don't get your loopy's in a twist, I notice shit that's been going on, the tension that your friends, brother, and scum had, that was negative, but now something else is up," he explained intrigued, she rolled her eyes.
"Nothings up, just planning what to do in the war next, just worry about yourself," Katara sighed and looked over her shoulder when Zuko went to get a drink of water. He felt eyes on him and looked at Katara confused, his cheeks flushed red and left shaking his head. He went over to Toph as she cackled and lead him away where Katara couldn't see.
"So you guys do have a thing going on," jet stuck out his tongue making a gagging sounds dramatically.
"He's just fun to pick on," Katara smiled softly to herself.
"I still can't believe you still treat him like he's not a threat, fire nation scum he'll always be," he sneered but Katara stood waiting for him to finish, her face was cold when he met her eyes.
"But then again, if he's a dog that listens to you, why put it down?" Jets face relaxed into a smug grin instead.
"If he's a dog then you're no better, seems like you can't be taught new tricks," Katara scoffed.
They felt the air temple shake from some loud crash as the two looked afraid almost thinking it could be the fire nation finding them. But when the duke and haru passed by not looking worried they asked what that was.
"Toph and Zuko are training, sounds like Toph is winning," haru grinned but there was another loud crash that didn't sound like earth.
"Oh Zuko is now," he corrected.
Jet watched Kataras face soften at the people she favorited over himself, he wanted to show them all why they were at war with the fire nation. That they've taken zukos alliance to kindly, that he has been their enemy, and how much the enemy has taken from each and everyone one of them.
He snuck off to find zukos belongings while they were distracted. He wanted to find the dirt this bastard had hidden.
"What are you doing?" The duke found him rummaging around where they all slept at night, finding zukos bag specifically.
"Don't you think it's weird that out of the entire fire nation, one of their soldiers decided to fight against them?" Jet asked and made a small 'aha' when he found zukos belongings, his swords were laying on top of it.
"Well I guess but we don't know if there's more fire benders who disagree with their leader like Zuko, maybe they're just scared?" The duke didn't understand quite why Jet wanted to find any reason to hate the soldier.
"You don't get it, no one gets it, him and people, the scum that they are, are the reason we don't have parents, and that our children will keep seeing death and war, they're not our friends," Jet found letters neatly folded away in the bag and grinned at the evidence.
"You gotta be kidding me," Sokka saw him holding zukos stuff.
"Jet this is getting out of hand," Sokka walked over with his arms crossed.
"Aw but it's love letters," Jet cooed waving them like a trophy.
"My dearest Zuko, blah blah," Jet mocked and moved onto the next letter.
"No those are from his uncle," Sokka groaned.
"My beloved nephew, my boy, my son, ugh what a sap," jet rolled his eyes.
"Put them down, his uncle is important to him, it's not for you to read," Sokka went to try taking the letters back before Zuko, before Katara, found out.
"HA my brave little solider boy?!" Jet bursted out laughing.
"What the hell is this shit? Some lame ass poem?" He cackled spinning his body before Sokka could grab them.
"Leave it alone man, stop!" Sokka reached over and was able to grab one of the letters.
But it ended up ripping in half when Sokka tried to pull away.
Just as Zuko, Katara, Toph and Aang walked in.
"Oh no," the duke covered his face terrified knowing a fight was coming.
"Are you fucking joking?!" Katara screamed making the two boys fighting jump.
"Are those my letters?!" Zuko stormed towards them and yanked them from jets hand quickly, luckily no more ripped but he saw the half in Sokkas hand.
"I'm sorry I was trying to get it from Jet but-" Sokka handed Zuko the ripped paper and Zuko looked at it frowning.
"No no no no no, not this one, seriously?" Zuko went through to find the other half of the paper.
"Jet why are you in zukos stuff?" Aang rubbed his head annoyed as well as Katara went to help Zuko.
"My own reasons, he doesn't need to cry over a poem getting ripped," Jet scoffed to hide that he was a little embarrassed and ashamed.
"It's not a fucking poem!" Zuko finally snapped. Letting his rage get the best of him.
"Fuck!" He growled seeing they were crinkled as well.
"Can you mind your own business?! I have family I can't see anymore too! This is the little bit I have left of my uncle! It's his fucking lullaby for his dead son! And now it's torn! Dammit Jet!" Zuko kicked his bag away from him as they were all stunned to see zukos old anger return after some time.
"Can't have shit anymore!" He spun to the side, kicking some supplies over with a loud crash while holding the letters, they all were silent when he was breathing heavy trying to keep it together.
"Is it bad that I miss this old Zuko?" Toph crossed her arms grinning a little.
"That's such an over reaction," jet huffed.
"I will deal with you later," Katara growled in a low tone as she walked over to Zuko who was making his way out.
"Go ahead go follow him like the good little whore you are," Jet scoffed and everyone went silent.
Zuko clenched the ripped letter and lit it on fire, letting the ashes dropped from his palm. He looked over his shoulder, staring at Jet.
He threw his letters on the ground and sprinted straight to Jet, tackling him to the ground as they both yelled.
"Holy shit!" Jet screamed as Zuko slammed his fist of flames down that was suppose to hit jets head but missed and hit the ground next to him instead.
"Is this what you wanted?! You want a fire nation soldier I'll show you how I'm a fire nation soldier!" Zuko screamed as Jet tried shoving him off, elbowing Zuko in the face but it barely made a difference.
"Should we do something?" Sokka covered the dukes eyes as they watched the two fight and wrestle.
"Do what?" Katara had her arms crossed, not phased by the fight.
"What's a whore?" Aang looked at them just as confused.
Kataras face heated up embarrassed by the insult but stayed silent.
Both of the boys got a good few hits at each other, Zuko didn't use his bending for a fair fight, till Jet kicked him off and Zuko rolled to his feet and swung a hook kick, it hit Jet in the side of the head and the boy went back down.
Jet held his head in pain but gasped when Zuko kicked him in the ribs.
"Apologize," Zuko crouched down to whispered.
"What?" Jet coughed as his head spun. Looking up at Zuko who had blood running down his nose and a bruise forming on the side of his forehead.
"Apologize to her," Zuko snarled.
"To-to Katara?" Jet was surprised.
Zuko grabbed the back of jet's shirt and dragged him like an animal over to the others as Jet couldn't get to his feet.
"Apologize to her," Zuko grabbed the back of his hair and forced Jet to look at Katara.
"Fuck! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!" Jet yelled.
"Again," he glared.
"I'm sorry!" Jet sneered back at him. Zuko nodded pleased and shoved him to the ground.
"I'm saying it for the last time, I'm on your side, I'm not your Agni damn enemy, save it for the really battle field," zuko scoffed harshly and spit next to Jet.
"I'll be back," Zuko nodded to his friends as he wiped the bloods from his nose, walking out of the area to find the fountain.
"I really miss this Zuko," toph groaned knowing he only gets this angry if he's really pushed.
"I think I forget that he wasn't just a soldier but an actual soldier that fights," Aang was shocked a little as Sokka and the duke helped jet up.
"And kills," toph justified with a smile.
