Shindou Takuto- The best one and the worst one[part 1]

You sighed as you took your usual seat in the classroom.

"Another tedious day to get through." You thought to yourself as you watched the students rapidly fill up the room. Unlike them, you absolutely couldn't tolerate school. Some would say they liked school because that's where they got to see their friends but that reason alone was not enough for you to bear through the hour long boring lectures. None of the things they taught interested you. If only they cared about that.

Soon the teacher entered and the cacophony of voices died down. The teacher set a pile of papers on her table and began,

"Your test results are here and I am not happy with it. This class needs to work harder and stop being distracted with frivolous things." 

She then went on to call each student one by one and discussed their marks with them. You sat freezing in your place dreading your turn because you knew you had done terrible but in all honesty, who likes physics? 

The teacher was now talking to Shindou Takuto, the prodigy of your class as some used to say. He was good at virtually everything. He got good grades, he was the captain of the school soccer team and he played excellent piano. He was truly living up to his name and even now by the expression of your teacher you could tell she was very pleased with him. 

"I think this boy right here is the only one who actually bothered to prepare for this test. Well done, Shindou." The teacher suddenly exclaimed making everyone turn their attention to her once again. Shindou, on the other hand, did not say anything in response and after taking his answer sheet from her, returned to his seat.

"I don't know how can anyone remember all these stupid formulae and derivations." You mentally remarked, "But good for him, I guess." 

" (L/N) (F/N)!" The teacher called, startling you a bit in the process.

"You have the lowest grade in the entire class. This is your worst performance till date." The teacher muttered to you so as to not embarrass you in front of everyone. "You need to pay a lot more attention if you want to pass this class."

In response you remained silent and looked towards the ground.  

"Are you getting my point?" The teacher calmly urged you to answer.

"Y-yeah n-no I get that." You said in a barely audible voice. The teacher sensed the discomfort you were facing talking to her. She then called Shindou again and he promptly reached her.

"From now on you will help (L/N) with her studies. You're the best student of this class so I'm giving this responsibility to you." 

You were stricken with surprise on hearing this. You did not expect this is what the teacher would do. You looked over at Shindou to read his expression but found him obediently listening to the teacher.
