Liz Miller's POV

Boom! I hear a sound as I wake up groggy from my sleep. I turn to the side and look at the time and curse as it is 2:30 in the morning and I just couldn't sleep. I wake up and slip into my school uniform that I wear the night before (luckily I washed it and hung it to dry before dinner). I rush out of the guest room, expecting Willis to get up from his sleep and is already at the door this instant. I look out as I run and just as what I expected, he is already at the door,waiting impatiently for me.

"Hey Liz." Willis smile at me but that smile turns into a serious look a few minutes later. He pulls me to a corner and peek out of the hut's door.

"I just got word from my superior this morning one hour before you wake up. She say that one of the houses downtown is on fire from explosion of highly combustible and highly explosive material. She told me just now that she need my help to find the hostage in there as the fire is not growing yet." Willis turns towards me, his eyes showing deep emotion as he pause at the doorstep.

"The place that catches fire is a very famous bar where I met a man who helped me with my case and make me feel like home the last time we met." I look at him stunned as I never hear him say anything about his past before. He take my hand and lead me down the hill to that place.

-------------------------at Billy's Bar and Restaurant--------------------

- "Billy? Come on man, don't scare me like that." Willis rushes into the place where Billy always greet him but Billy is not there.

"Where did he go?" I hear Willis mutter with panic lacing in his voice. I walk over to him and lead him away from the room's door and lead him into the hallway.

"Where is he?" Willis murmur at himself and cough as he smell smoke wafting through the room on one end. "Billy!" Willis try to rise but he is overcome with coughing as he smells smoke. I let him to the room that he smell a weak smoke smell and open the door. Willis gasps with relief for the fresh air and sees Billy on the floor with someone handcuffing Billy and sitting on him. Willis look up and he sees a supernatural, a ghost of wishes, pointing to Billy and......

"Liz?!" Willis look at the ghost, stunned with emotion. He looks between me and Billy with wide eyes, afraid of losing two of the person most important to him.

"Will, don't care about me, care about her!" Billy points to me and I shake my head no." Willis, take Billy and get out of here! Leave me!" I shout to Willis but he shake his head." There's no way that I'll leave you both here!" Willis rush towards Billy." Because you both are important people for me." He use his power and try to attack the ghost of wishes but he get knocked aside by the ghost of wishes's power. He stumble in the air and land hard on the ground opposite of Billy. He watch in horror as Billy struggles for his life for a while before hanging limp a few minutes after.

"No!" Willis howls as he rise to charge at the little girl and the ghost of wishes but both of them vanish into thin air. Willis tries to breathe through the smoke but to no avail and slump onto the floor, loosing conscious.

"Willis!" I run to him as fast as I can and put an arm protectively around him. He looks at me and smile sadly before loosing conscious. I try to use anything to prevent inhaling the smoke but to no avail. Suddenly I have a vision and I quickly use the technique to make a shield of light all around us and run for the exit.

-----------------------------------------at Billy's Bar and Restaurant entrance-------------------------------------

"What is going on? Miss, why is sir unconscious?" an officer ask and I place Willis's unconscious body in his arms.

"Please send him to the hospital right away. He got gas poisoning." I say, still remember how people who inhale smoke get gas poisoning on TV. " All right, I will. Miss, will you be alright?" the police officer ask me and I nod." Yeah, I'm fine but Senior Detective Willis Gale need immediate medical attention." He nod and bring Willis to the hospital straight away while the other officers comment on how brave Willis and I am to go into the burning building but I'm worried about Willis as he normally don't show any emotion in investigations but for this time it is different as his friend, Billy Wales, will not be able to see the sun again.
