Danielle's P.O.V

"What the hell happened to your forehead?" Maya asks, running up to me as soon as I enter the building. I wave her off and continue to walk towards my locker.

"I'm not dying so don't worry." I say and Maya frowns, watching as I begin to put my books into the locker. When I finish, I slam my locker shut and look at Maya who is looking at someone who is just entering the building.

Thinking that it is probably Cole, I turn around but immediately stiffen when I look at the attractive boy walking in with his bag hanging off of his shoulder.

"Holy shit." I mutter, my eyes widening as I take in the image of the new kid. Well, I'm pretty sure this guy is new because if he attended here, I'm pretty sure I would've seen him.

Someone that attractive doesn't hide from my eyes that easily.

"I shot gun him." I hear Maya whisper as we watch as the guy walk past us. I elbow her in the ribs and narrow my eyes at her.

"You can't just 'shot gun' him." I say and Maya smirks.

"Why not? You have Cole and I have the new boy. Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to introduce myself to the fine specimen..." Maya says, walking off and my eyes go wide at her words.

I have... Cole? How in the world did she come up with that?

The bell rings and I find myself walking slowly to my class, the thought beginning to control my mind.

I watch as Maya comes running up to me, a wide grin on her face. I stop and hold my tray of food close to my chest, hoping that Maya doesn't make me drop it.

No one messes with my food.

"Guess what, guess what?" Maya asks, her eyes wide. I raise my eyebrow at her and wait for her to continue.

"Liam is coming to sit at our table today!" Maya says and I furrow my eyebrows.

"Liam?" I ask and Maya rolls her eyes.

"The new guy?" Maya says and my mouth drops.

"How did you manage that?" I ask and Maya grins.

"My looks."

"You probably offered to fuck him." I say with a grin and Maya gasps, hitting shoulder. I wince and look at Maya, my eyes narrowing.

"Don't make me drop my food." I say before walking over to my table that I usually sit at. I place my tray of food on the table and take my seat, watching as Maya takes her seat next to me.

All of a sudden, just as I am about to shove a chip into my mouth, Maya waves her hand in the air, hitting the chip out of my hand and making it land on the ground. I growl and send Maya a glare, knowing that she is too busy waving to the new boy - wait, is that who she is waving to?

I look up at notice that the guy with dark, chocolate brown hair and bright green eyes begins to make his way over to our table, a small smirk on his face. My eyes widen and I drop my head back down to the food that is in front of me.

Wow, he is so damn gorgeous!

I hear the chair scrape back and I can't help but look up and stare at Liam again. His brown hair is up in a quiff and his bright green eyes are staring at me - wait... me?

All of a sudden, another chair beside me scrapes back and I look to the side to see Cole taking the seat next to me. I let out a sigh of relief and look at Cole who is grinning at me.

"Hello, Dani." Cole says and I send him a small wave before picking up a chip from my tray.

"Who is this?" Cole asks, pointing at the guy who is still staring at me. Does this guy have staring problems?

"His name is Liam, Cole." Maya says harshly, as if Cole just insulted her future boyfriend. Well, that's if someone else doesn't take him.

And by someone else, I mean the girl that is making her way to our table now.

"Hey," Hailey says with a grin, placing her hands on the table and looking down at Liam. He looks away from me and up at Hailey who is battling her eyelashes at the new boy.

Remember Hailey Richards? The school cheerleader and bitch? Well, if you don't, I'm pretty sure you must have STML - Short Term Memory Loss - because everyone remembers Hailey Richards once you hear her name. She is the girl that goes around with her daddy's credit and buys anything she could ever wish for. Also, she looks like a barbie; fake as fuck.

"Sup," Liam replies and I think Hailey and I just choked on our saliva. How can someone so hot... have a voice that makes his whole appearance seem even hotter?

I begin to cough and Maya sends me a glare while Cole pats my back. I grab my drink and take a sip of it, trying to get the air into my lungs.

"Uh... you want to hang out some time?" Hailey asks, trying to build up her confidence again. What shocks me though is that fact that Liam shakes his head, rejecting Hailey's offer.

No one rejects Hailey Richards.

"No thanks, I'm fine." Liam says and Hailey huffs in annoyance and disbelief before walking off. I glance over at Maya with wide eyes.

"He just rejected Hailey!" I whisper and Maya nods, her eyebrows raising.

"He is so dead!"

"I can hear you both. I'm right here." Liam says, bringing us both out of thoughts and facing him.

"Well you obviously know that you just dug yourself a grave, right?" Maya says, her mouth hanging open.

"Oh please, what will she do? Get her rich daddy on me because I rejected her offer?" As those words escape his mouth, Maya and I share a look again.

"Yes!" We both say a little too loud but we don't care. Liam laughs and crosses his arms over his chest.

"Well, I've got connections too. Just remember that." Liam says and before we can say anything else, the bell rings. Everyone begins to stand up and I watch as Liam gets up from his chair.

"Before I forget, what is your name?" Liam asks, pointing over at Cole. I glance over to see him crossing his arms over his chest.

"Cole." He says and Liam nods.

"Okay, well, I'll see you later, Cole. I believe we have Maths together." Liam says before walking off. I glance over to see Cole glaring at Liam, his eyes narrowing.

"Come on, Danielle." Maya says, grabbing at my arm and pulling me away from Cole. As I leave the cafeteria and begin to make my way to physical development with my best friend, I can't help but wonder if Cole was jealous of Liam.

The question that is circling my head though is why?
