Chapter Thirty

Danielle's P.O.V

"I can already see how amazing this night is going to be!" My mom says as she shuts the car off, making me sigh in annoyance. Everyone is dressed up and it's all because of my damn birthday.

"And I can already see how many times I'm going to fall in these heels." Andrea comments, taking off her seat belt. Grinning at Andrea's comment, I raise my hand to high-five her.

"Now that's something I can agree with." I say as Andrea slaps her hand into mine. With my mom rolling her eyes, Cole and I get out of the car, the warm breeze running past my body.

The restaurant looks a little too fancy for my liking if I say so myself. I mean, I don't have anything against fancy places but I just find it weird that my mom would take us to this place. I would've expected my future husband, if I get one, to take me here where he would propose to me.

"Now, since we are all responsible adults-" My mom makes sure to glance at me, sending me her most serious glare before continuing. "-we are going to have a good time tonight. Even with a few drinks in our system." My mom says and my eyes light up in excitement. When my mom notices this, she let's out a laugh.

"If you're planning on drinking, you're buying your own alcohol." My mom says, making me groan.

"But I didn't bring any money-" The feeling of Cole's hand brushing against mine makes me stop to look at him. When he leans closer to my ear, I notice the slight grin on his face.

"Don't worry. I took my mom's credit card from her bag when she was singing Justin Bieber." Cole explains, making my own grin appear on my face. When I glance over at Andrea and my mom, they both return the grin, not even knowing what I'm grinning about.

Time to get hammered.

"Spaghetti. Spaghetti. Spaghetti." I mutter, rolling my eyes as I place the menu down in front of me. "We are here at an expensive restaurant and you're telling me that they only have spaghetti?" I complain, leaning back in my chair as I begin to glare at my mom.

I hear Andrea laugh, making me look over at her. "Maybe because you're looking at the classics." Andrea says, earning the whole table to laugh loudly. Realising my mistake as I pick up the menu again, I grit my teeth together and glare at the stupid menu.

"Whatever. I'm getting a drink." I say, standing up from my chair and walking over to the bar that is on the other side of the restaurant.

"Same here." Cole says as he rises from his chair too. When we begin to walk over to the bar, I look down at my dress and mentally groan. Finally eighteen and I'm already dressing like I'm planning to sell myself on the corner. Unbelievable.

When Cole and I finally reach the bar, I take a seat on the stool, watching as the bartender walks over to us. "Hey," I begin, sending him a small, frustrated smile. "Can I get a shot of vodka or something?" I ask and the bartender furrows his eyebrows.

"Uh, vodka?"

"Yeah. You know, like, that clear liquid that burns your throat when you drink it? Vodka?" I ask and the bartender scratches the back of his neck awkwardly.

"We don't, uh, sell vodka here. Only wine." The bartender says, making both Cole and I stare at the guy, dumbfounded.

"You don't sell-" I get cut off by Cole's voice.

"Vodka?"

"No, sorry. Would you like some wine?" The bartender asks, a small smile reappearing on his face. My eyes go wide as I continue to stare at the guy.

"Sorry, I'm still trying to get it in my head that you don't have vodka here..." I say, trying to keep my cool. Cole narrows his eyes at the bartender and leans against the bench.

"How about tequila? Do you have that?"

"Only wine." The bartender repeats, making my mind spin like crazy. Pushing myself away from the bar, I send once last glare at the bartender.

"I know you're having it all to yourself, you prick." I say before walking away with Cole following behind me. Before we reach the table though, Cole grabs at my hand, stopping me.

"Wait, I have an idea." Cole says, making me furrow my eyebrows.

"Does it involve punching that bartender in the face because of how he is keeping the good alcohol to himself?" I ask and Cole breathes out a laugh, shaking his head.

"As much as I would like to smash his face in, I don't want to get arrested on your birthday. And I don't think you would want to either."

"Hey, if prison has alcohol somewhere, I would rather send myself there than stay here any longer." I say, earning a nod from Cole.

"Same here but anyway, let me explain what the plan is." Cole says and I nod, eager to hear what Cole has in store for us tonight. When he tells me the plan, I can't help but grin, nodding.

"Now this is why we get along." I say as we begin to walk to the table where my mom and Andrea are currently telling their orders to the waiter.

When they finish talking, my mom looks over at me. "What do you want to eat, birthday girl?" My mom grins and I place a hand to my forehead, putting on the worst possible expression on my face to make it look like I've just suddenly fallen sick with the common cold.

"I... I don't feel to well. It might have been the wine that the bartender gave me." I explain, watching as my mom's grin falls off her face faster than I can say 'I'm sorry'.

"Are you saying you have to go?" My mom says and I place both of my hands on my stomach, looking down at the floor.

"I'm really not feeling too well." I say and my mom sighs, running a hand through her hair. She looks over at Cole, sending him the smallest smile.

"Are you going to take her home?" My mom asks and Cole nods.

"I don't think it would be right for you to go out of your way to ruin the dinner. Besides, this means you and mom can talk over a glass of wine and spaghetti." Cole says and my mom breathes out a laugh, rolling her eyes.

I watch as my mom stands up and brings me into a hug, kissing my forehead. "Have an easy night, baby. I'll see you when I get home." My mom says and I give her a smile before grabbing onto Cole's arm.

As we begin to leave the restaurant without even staying for at least half an hour, I send a glare the bartenders way, watching as he turns around as if he never saw me.

When we are finally outside, Cole sends me a small grin. "Where is a club around here?"

●●●

"Oh my god, I remember that! My mom's hair was absolutely horrendous!" I explain, continuing to laugh as I scull the shot glass of tequila. I don't know how many shots I've had but I know that sooner or later I'll be all over the place. Maybe even Cole too.

"You know, I never thought you had the guts to be so... rebellious." Cole says as he sips on his beer. I smile and narrow my eyes at him.

"Me? Rebellious? Please, if I had the chance to steal a cop car and not get caught, I still wouldn't do it." I explain, leaning back into the comfortable chair.

Cole raises his eyebrow and smirks. "Not even for a few hundred dollars?"

I shake my head and scull another shot of tequila. "Not even for a few hundred dollars."

Cole nods and takes another sip of his beer, glancing around the dance floor to see a whole crowd of people dancing to the current song that is playing. As the song begins to finish though, I feel my heart speed up as I hear the familiar tune to the next song.

"Holy shit, I love this song!" I basically scream as the song The Fix by Nelly, featuring Jeremih, comes on through the speakers. I stand up and grab Cole's hand, bringing him down the ramp that leads to the dance floor below.

"Its so sexual," Cole laughs as Nelly begins to say the words 'I just wanna' have your body'. I send him a smirk and begin to sway my hips to the beat.

"That's why I love it!" I say loudly, letting myself become one with the rhythm. Wait, did I just think that? Ew, I'm so lame. "When you need that fix, that medicine!"

"God, how much have you drank?" Cole says loud enough for me to hear and I let out a laugh, continuing to dance.

"Shut up, it's my birthday! Let me party!" I scream, letting the music take over my body as I continue to dance like no tomorrow.

"Okay, beautiful."

●●●

"She's just a girl and she's on fire!" I sing loudly as Cole continues to drive the car to my house. You know, Alicia Keys is so damn beautiful, did you know that? And her voice... I would kill for a voice like that.

"Yeah, I don't think so." Cole says, changing the station. But suddenly, as Try Again by Aaliyah begins to play, I grin and move my hips in my seat.

"Cause if at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again!" I sing, beginning to press the button to the window, watching as the window goes down and up from the movement of my fingers on the button.

Woah, that sounded sexual.

Suddenly, I glance over at Cole when he turns the music and reach over to his side, beginning to unbutton his shirt. "What the hell?" Cole says as he pulls the car over. When he looks over at me, he can't help but grin. "What are you doing?"

"I want sex." I say, earning a laugh from Cole.

"You're drunk." Cole says and I furrow my eyebrows at him, gripping at his shirt.

"And why does that matter? I am thinking right now and what I want is your-"

"I know what you want, Dani." Cole laughs, holding at my hands. "But you're drunk."

"Please!" I whine, pouting at him. "You've been staring at me like you've wanted me the whole time tonight anyway!" I complain and Cole smiles at me.

"I do want you." Cole says, making me grin. "But, like I said before, you're drunk. And we are in a car. What if people drive past and see your tits?" Cole says and I roll my eyes.

"People in movies do it in the car all the time. And I don't care if people see these." I say, placing my hands on my boobs with a smile on my face. Cole sighs and places me back in my seat.

"Just continue to sing, okay? Then when we get home, you can sleep." Cole says and I frown.

"But I don't want to sleep." I say and Cole looks over at me before leaning over and kissing my forehead. When he starts the car, the song I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry begins to play and I can't help but sing the words, beginning to play with the window once more.

●●●

"Sorry, I ain't got no money! I'm not trying to be funny but I left it all at home today!" I sing loudly as Cole carries me into the house. He kicks the door closed with his foot and walks over to my bedroom door as I continue to sing the lyrics to No Money by Galantis.

"You really are interesting when you're drunk." Cole says and I smile, reaching my hand up to touch Cole's face.

"You have soft cheeks." I say, earning Cole to laugh.

"Thank you." Cole says as he places me down on the bed. When Cole goes to walk away, I grab onto his hand and pulls him back to me, accidentally pulling him too hard that he falls on the top of me.

But I'm not complaining.

"Do I get my present now?" I ask, rolling over so I'm now straddling Cole. He rests his hands on my thighs and rolls his eyes.

"I would but it requires you to be sober." Cole says and I furrow my eyebrows, pouting at him.

"It's not like I won't feel it." I say, leaning down to kiss Cole's jaw. Cole breathes out a laugh and pushes me up so he can look at me.

"It's not sex, Danielle." Cole says and I sigh, purposely rolling my hips against his jeans. Cole closes his eyes and clenches his jaw, his hands holding at my waist. "Stop it, Dani."

"I know you want it." I say, grabbing Cole's hands and sliding them up my stomach until they rest at my boobs. "Please just-"

"Danielle," Cole says, his hands dropping down to my waist again. "You are drunk." He says slowly and I shake my head, my hands grabbing at Cole's shirt.

"No, I'm sober. I swear. I can even walk a straight line to prove it." I say and Cole raises an eyebrow.

"Go on." Cole says and I breathe out a sigh, getting off Cole and laying beside him.

"Too much effort." I mumble, throwing a leg over Cole's legs to get myself comfortable. "God, I'm so tired..." I say, closing my eyes.

"Maybe that's because you've been singing and dancing all night." Cole says, trailing a finger over my cheek. I sigh, opening my eyes to look at Cole.

"What is the present if it isn't sex?" I can't help but ask, watching as Cole smiles at me.

"I was going to tell you this when you were sober but..." Cole sighs, grabbing onto my hand. "I guess what I am trying to say is..."

"Tell me." I say, sending him the smallest smile I could manage to do. Cole closes his eyes and sighs once more.

"I... I love you, Danielle." Cole says, opening his eyes to look at me. "And I want you to be with me."

My smile seems to grow as I stare into Cole's eyes, letting my heart race. I get up and straddle Cole again, my hands resting on his cheeks.

"You don't know how long I've been waiting for you to say that." I say, feeling Cole's hands rest at my hips. "I love you too." I say, pressing my lips against his. When I pull away, my smile turns into a grin.

"And yes, I'll be your girlfriend." I mumble, earning a grin from Cole. "Now, as your girlfriend, I demand you to take me against every item in this room."

"You sneaky little bitch." Cole says and I smile at him.

"Back at it again with that nickname?" I ask and Cole rolls his eyes, his hands running up and down my thighs.

"Just shut up and let me take off that dress."
