6. Stress

Akaashi got out of Bokuto's car, sighing. "A bar of all places after practice..."

Bokuto shrugged. "Lemonade for you."

"Or water."

"Mhmm!" Bokuto grabbed his hand. "They've gotta figure out one way or another. Guess this is the way, huh?"

"Must be." Akaashi pressed a hand to his stomach.

"You've got a little guy in there. Or girl. It could be a girl."

Akaashi chuckled softly. "You never know, it could be both."

"E-eh that's right! We could have both!"

"Have both what?" Kuroo asked, catching up to them. "Drinks? Best not to mix your alcohol. Screws with your stomach."

"We're not dumb." Bokuto pointed out.

"Akaashi isn't."

"Hey!"

Akaashi rolled his eyes. "Relax Kouarou. I think you're very smart."

"Why thank you." Bokuto kissed his forehead.

Kuroo fake retched. "Anyway." He paused. "Mm... something smells really sweet."

Alaashi internally panicked. Scent blockers. He'd forgotten to take his scent blockers so that no one would pick up on his altered smell.

Kuroo kept sniffing before getting closer to Akaashi. "New perfume?"

"Yep."

"Smells nice." Kuroo smiled. He opened the door for his two friends and the rest of the team hurried to get into the bar.

When they were seated and Akaashi had used the bathroom he settled next to Bokuto, leaning into his side.

"Hey Akaashi! Try this!" Oikawa thrust a drink of some amber colored liquid at Akaashi.

"What is that?"

"Some weird rum thing Iwa just showed me! It's sooo good."

Akaashi shifted closer to Bokuto. "No thanks."

"Huh? I thought you liked rum?" Oikawa hummed. "You just gonna sip on lemonade?"

Akaashi shrugged. Bokuto let out a subtle flow of pheromones to keep him calm.

"Oh I know!"

Both tensed.

"You want something fruity like Suga usually gets!"

Suga looked up. "You leave me out of your peer pressure shit flat ass!"

Daichi sighed. "Suga. Come on."

"Right." Suga giggled. "At least he's not Tendou."

Tendou gasped in fake shock. "I'm not flat! Am I Akaashi?"

"I-I don't look at anyone's butt." Akaashi whispered.

Tendou rolled his eyes. "Loosen up. Here." He offered Akaashi his drink.

Bokuto finally spoke up. "Stop trying to get him to drink. Akaashi can't drink right now so knock it off."

Akaashi went quiet. Then their table. Ushijima spoke up. "Why isn't he able to drink? Is it certain liquids? Does he have a medical procedure?"

Akaashi internally cringed. Bokuto spoke again. "Just alcohol."

"And caffeine." Akaashi whispered.

"Yeah. That too."

"What's wrong then?"

Akaashi looked at Bokuto's team. He took a deep breath, looking into everyone's worried stares. Then he smiled. "I'm pregnant."

The table erupted into applause and cheering. "Congrats Akaashi!"

Akaashi looked to Bokuto, who was grinning. Akaashi smiled. He didn't like the noise or the fact that he was getting a headache but he was happy.

"Have you thought of baby names?" Suga questioned.

"Oh no I was going to look into that for when they're born."

"So a surprise type thing?"

"Yes."

Oikawa spoke up next. "What do you think it'll be?"

"I'm not sure."

Now Hinata spoke up. "Will I be allowed to hold the baby?!"

Kageyama flicked him. "Dumbass it's his baby."

Akaashi chuckled nervously. "Yes but not immediately."

Kuroo leaned over the table and whispered to him. "Did it hurt?"

"What?"

"The knot."

"Um... a little..."

Bokuto pushed Kuroo lightly. "Chill out Kuroo."

"Sorry dude! Didn't know you'd knock him up quite that fast."

Akaashi shifted, now uncomfortable.

"When are you due?" Ushijima questioned.

Akaashi pulled up something on his phone. "Early August."

"A fall baby!" Tendou said happily.

"Well August is in summer. So no." Ushijima explained.

Akaashi shifted again. So many questions about the baby were being thrown at him. It was scary. He curled up against Bokuto and started crying, terrified by all of the questioning. He hated it and his head was hurting.

"Hey, hey, hey... what's going on Kashi?" Bokuto whispered. He rubbed Akaashi's lower back.

"There's so much talking. My head hurts."

"Cover your ears." Bokuto waited. "Hey! Quit asking him questions! You're making his head hurt and stress is bad for the baby!" Everyone quieted, not wanting to make Akaashi worse. Bokuto went to tending to Akaashi, rubbing his hair and back. Kissing his jaw. Being as gentle as possible. "Hey, look at me."

Akaashi looked up, sniffling.

"You're gonna be great. Just take a deep breath." Bokuto moved his collar.

Akaashi sniffed, soon relaxing into the older male. "Thank you..."

"No problem."

"You know, Bokuto is a smart guy. Stress is bad for a pregnant person, especially for omegas. It can make them go into labor early. Which is why I'm trying to not be stressed or I'll go into labor super fast."

Daichi tensed beside him. He leaned over and sniffed of Suga. "You smell stressed right now."

"You're joking."

"No." Daichi sniffed again. "Relax."

"W-well now I can't relax!"

Daichi stood up. "Let's go."

"Okay!"

"I'll see all of you next week. Come on Suga."

Everyone waved goodbye to the couple. Akaashi smiled and nuzzled against Bokuto. "Can we go home too? I'd like to cuddle."

"Oh really?"

"Mhmm." Akaashi let out a strong scent of something close to comfort.

"Oh okay!" Bokuto scooped him up nd kissed his hair. "Bye guys!"

****

Akaashi looked up as he herd another loud thud. "Sugawara! Please stop throwing things!"

"I-I didn't thro- O-OW"

Akaashi got up quickly and headed to the other male's desk. "Are you okay?"

Suga took a deep breath. "I was just... filling out these reports and another client... canceled... m-mm..."

Akaashi tensed as a rush of stress and pained pheromones flowed over him. "I'm going to touch your stomach, okay?"

"Okay."

Akaashi set both hands on his stomach. "It's moving... you smell off right now." He got up. "Come with me." Suga followed him until he was at Bokuto's office. Akaashi knocked on his door and then opened up his door. "Koutarou. I need help."

Bokuto looked up. "Is that coming from you?!" Bokuto got up quickly. "It's way too early for you to go into labor... wait you're not in pain."

Sugawara whimpered loudly, knees buckling. "Where's Daichi?!"

"Oh you're... oh SHIT. Can I touch your stomach?"

"Yeah! Please!"

Bokuto set his hands on his stomach. "Ooh wow. That's a kicker. A very, very need to get of there baby! Suga, you're going into labor. Right now!"

"SHIT!" Suga grabbed onto Bokuto. "It's too early! NO!"

Akaashi sighed. "Come on Suga."

Sugawara started to cry. "If I have the baby... it'll die."

"It won't." Akaashi gently took Sugawara into his arms. "That baby is going to be okay."

Suga held on, still crying. "I want... I want Daichi!"

"I'll go get him." Bokuto whispered. He rushed out.

"It doesn't smell safe in here. I want my mate... I want this baby to survive."

"It will, deep breaths."

"Okay, right. Deep- contraction!" Sugawara's eyes shut. "Ow..."

Daichi rushed in and took Sugawara into his arms. "Suga, hold onto me, okay?"

"It hurts a lot more than when I had Yuichi..."

"It's okay." Daichi lifted him up the best he could. "Oh that's wet. Why is it wet?"

"I think my water broke. I must not have noticed."

"That's... to the hospital we go." Daichi walked out.

"What hospital?" Bokuto called out.

"JR!"

"Thanks!" Bokuto turned back to Akaashi. "How do you feel?"

"I need... a nap." Akaashi mumbled.
