41. My Ten

Akaashi spit into the toilet bowl, sitting up right after. He got up and yawned. Bokuto was in the living room, helping Emiko find her way around the living room and kitchen again. He smiled. "Ko."

Bokuto looked up and smiled. "Hey! Hey! Hey!"

"She's okay?"

"Mhmm! You good? You look kinda tired."

"I mean I am tired but I'm doing better. I only threw up twice instead of five times today."

"That's really good!" Bokuto hefted Emiko up, grinning. "You want some breakfast?"

"Mhmm." Akaashi sat down and Emiko was placed in his lap. Fifteen minutes later Bokuto came back with to plates of pancakes and a bowl of strawberries. He set the strawberries aside, which he could see Akaashi eyeing.

"Who are those for?"

"All of us." Bokuto said, almost warning him.

Akaashi nodded. He grabbed one of them and pinched it to give the tip of the strawberry to Emiko, who gladly took it and giggled. Akaashi smiled. He looked at Bokuto, who was staring. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Bokuto chuckled softly. "No reason."

Akaashi yawned. He put Emiko down and split the amount of food on his plate, cutting one of the pancakes on his plate up into tiny pieces and feeding them to Emiko.

"How come you're giving her half? I was gonna get her some in a moment."

Akaashi sighed. "Just because I'm getting better doesn't mean that I can hold things down. I have to eat small or it gets to be too much and I feel sick."

"Ah okay."

"Mhmm."

Bokuto ate, quiet. Eventually they both got changed and Akaashi headed of to the store for work. Bokuto stayed with Emiko until it was time to take her to daycare and then to work.

****

Akaashi coughed, wiping away the saliva from his chin. "Damn it..." He got up shakily and flushed the toilet before walking out into the main area of the bathroom and going to wash his hands.

He looked up into the mirror and paused. "Hello?"

The other male stared back. "It smells like puke."

"Ah I was about to fix that... sorry I threw up."

"That's kinda gross. Why are you throwing up?"

"I don't feel well...?" Akaashi whispered.

"Don't come to work if you're sick you dumbass." The other male walked into the stall behind him.

Akaashi finished washing his hands, trying his best not to get upset. He hated to be talked about like that or like he wasn't someone smart enough to know what an insult meant.

He started to walk out but the male came back. "Really, why did you throw up?"

"I don't feel well."

"Ah. Nut you smell really nice? There's no way."

"There's a way." Akaashi mumbled and headed off to the door again. His arm was grabbed and he growled loudly. "Don't touch."

"Feisty."

Akaashi growled louder at the other male and tried to pull away. A few seconds later he was whimpering, arms around his waist on the floor. The other man walked out. Akaashi took a deep, shaky breath. He got up, whimpering still. He hurried to his manager, crying from the pain now. "I-I need... to go to the hospital... please..."

"What happened?"

"Someone came... came into the bathroom and kneed me in the stomach."

She stood hurriedly and helped him into the chair near her desk. She got her phone out, calling an ambulance while Akaashi texted Bokuto. "Can you rate your pain?"

"From?"

"One to ten."

"U-um... six or seven?"

"You're saving your ten? That seems like it hurts like one Keiji."

Akaashi remembered the three bundles he'd held before. Was this going to be the fourth? "I've had my ten..."

"Alright."

****

Bokuto hurried to Akaashi, seeing him crying. "Keiji! Keiji what happened?! Are you okay?! Is the baby okay?!"

"I-I got kneed in the stomach by another worker..."

"God fucking... I need something to go feral on."

"A-Ah wait." Akaashi reached next to him and pulled up a piece of paper. On it was a black and white picture. "The baby is okay..."

Bokuto took a deep breath and then chuckled. "Thank God." He rubbed Akaashi's cheek. "You okay?"

"It's still kind of sore but he's perfectly healthy and- ooh no."

Bokuto stared for a moment, replaying the words in his mind. His eyes widened. "He! It's a boy! We're gonna have a boy?!"

Akaashi chuckled, slightly embarrassed. "Yes..."

Bokuto hugged Akaashi tight. "Oh my God this is awesome!"

Akaashi held him, smiling. "We're going to have a little boy..."

Bokuto kissed him quickly. "Mwah! I love you!"

"Guess what?"

"Oh more surprises?"

"I want to name him Tabiki."

Bokuto smiled. "That's one of my names..."

"Mhmm."

"God you're so perfect I swear." Bokuto kissed his forehead. "Whew... you need something to eat and some water. And a nap probably."

"I actually feel like I don't need a nap."

"Okay. Cool." Bokuto helped him up and got him checked out and went to the car. Akaashi relaxed into his seat, closing his eyes. Bokuto laughed. "No nap, eh?"

"No. I'm just resting my eyes."

Bokuto reached over and rubbed his stomach gently. "Tabiki Akaashi-Bokuto. Emiko Akaashi-Bokuto."

Akaashi smiled. He opened his eyes and looked over. "Two beautiful little miracles..."

"Just like their mama." Bokuto leaned over and kissed him. "You cutie."

This is a little bit smaller than usual but hey hey hey it's a chapter.
