22. Minutes

Akaashi smiled, moving Emiko's legs. Emiko was gaining a lot of strength now and had managed to get on her elbows while on her stomach a few times. She enjoyed moving around and being taught to move and would always laugh, causing Akaashi to be happy.

A lot.

Bokuto had walked in on Akaashi giggling and laughing with Emiko laying on his chest once. It'd taken five minutes for Akaashi to notice Bokuto watching the both of them.

Yamaguchi had even come over a few times to hold Emiko for a while, feeling better slightly.

Akaashi had been helping him cope, knowing how hard it was for him. He'd been there before. He didn't want Yamaguchi to do the things he'd done after his first time.

"Why does she do that?"

Akaashi looked over. "Do what?"

"She makes bubbles." Yamaguchi mumbled. He wiped Emiko's chin.

"Oh. It's just something babies do." Akaashi got out of his chair and sat next to Yamaguchi. "You're holding her well."

"Thanks." Yamaguchi looked up. "Can I ask a question?"

"Go ahead."

"Should I keep trying? I know it's almost impossible. But I feel like I should… Tsuki wants this really bad and I want it really bad…"

Akaashi took a deep breath. "Yamaguchi… I don't…" He looked Yamaguchi, who seemed to know what he was going to say. "It'll hurt really bad. I don't think so…"

Yamaguchi nodded. He smiled at Emiko. "T-That's okay… I… I um… I-I'll…"

Akaashi took Emiko and put her on a blanket. He held Yamaguchi as he cried. "It'll be okay though… there are options. Don't do this for just Tsukishima though, okay?"

"M-mhmm."

"Good, good." Akaashi patted his back. "What are you going to do?"

"I just… I'll figure out something." He coughed.

"How about adoption? We considered adopting before we had Emiko."

"Mm." Yamaguchi pulled out his phone. "I-I'll be… be back." He walked into the hall.

Akaashi sighed. He rubbed his eyes and picked Emiko back up. "Hey there princess… you okay?" He touched her hair, smiling. "You've been so calm today."

Emiko huffed. She kicked a few times, wanting to find reason for sound.

Akaashi put her on his chest. "Better? That way you can feel when I talk."

Emiko whined, grabbing his shirt and kicking lightly. "Gah…"

Akaashi chuckled. "You're just like Koutarou."

Emiko kicked a few times and whined.

"Ah, ah calm down. It's just me."

Emiko screamed for a moment before giggling.

"Oh my God… quit that." Akaashi tilted her back. He made something similar towards a growl towards her and she yelped before continuing to giggle. "What's so funny…"

Emiko kicked lightly a few times.

Akaashi kissed her head. "I love you~"

"Bah!"

He clicked his tongue again a few times, laughing as she did. "You're such a silly girl…"

Yamaguchi came back in and sat down. "Hey."

"Hi." Akaashi smiled. "You okay?"

"Mhmm! I just talked to Tsuki."

"And?"

"He said that we can look into it when I get home."

Akaashi nodded. Emiko huffed at him. He lifted her back up and kissed her forehead. "Shush."

"Gah!"

Akaashi growled softly at her. Emiko went quiet again, only her hands clenching and unclenching. He laughed. "Good girl."

"Bah!"

Akaashi rocked her. "You're so silly."

"Can I hold her again?" Yamaguchi questioned.

"Of course." Akaashi eased Emiko to Yamaguchi. "There we go…"

Emiko held Yamaguchi's shirt tightly. He eased her hands away and lifted her up. She grabbed his hair instead and kicked. Yamaguchi winced. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!"

Akaashi hurried to get her to let go and actually growled at her this time. "No ma'am. Gentle."

Emiko started crying, scared by the sound. Yamaguchi put her against his chest and rocked her. "Woah, woah your mommy isn't mad. It's okay…"

Akaashi blinked. Emiko kept crying, still not liking it. Akaashi took her carefully. "Lets take you to daddy…" He walked off to his room where Bokuto was taking a nap. He groaned. "Damn it…"

Akaashi sat down and poked at Bokuto. Bokuto whined loudly. "Fuck off…"

"Don't tell me to fuck off. Sit your ass up."

Bokuto sat up, whining at him. "What?"

"Do the thing." Akaashi mumbled. He handed Emiko to him.

Bokuto yawned. "Hey there Emmy… Why're you crying?"

"I growled at her."

"The fuck?"

"My mother did that to me when I was a child. It taught me to be calm."

"Your mom is also a damned psychopath. We're not doing that to her. Nope. It's super mean and she obviously doesn't like it."

"I see that now…" Akaashi sighed. "Sorry. I'm tired."

"It's okay! Maybe you should take a nap too. After I get this rascal calmed down."

"Mkay…"

Bokuto kissed Emiko's head and rubbed her stomach gently. "Hey hey hey… it's okay now. Mommy wasn't mad. It's okay." Bokuto let out the slightest bit of his scent. "Shhhh… shhhh."

Emiko stopped crying and held onto him.

Bokuto smiled. "Good girl. I think everyone needs a nap. Hm." He got up and left the room.

Akaashi looked up when Bokuto came back. "Is Yamaguchi okay?"

"Yep. I gave him Emiko so they could relax together."

"Aw that was nice."

Bokuto shrugged. "I am nice." He jumped on the bed and hugged Akaashi tight. "I love you!"

"I love you too." Akaashi smiled, holding Bokuto's cheek. "Eh…"

"What's wrong?"

"My vision isn't the best still… I thought it was me being tired."

"Maybe you need contacts? Like Oikawa."

"I hate things touching my eyes."

"Glasses."

"Eh. Fine. I'll make an appointment when I want to." He yawned before kissing Bokuto.

Bokuto giggled softly. "I love you Keiji."

"I love you too." Akaashi whispered. He closed his eyes. "Mm… watch your hands."

Bokuto laughed, bringing his hands away from Akaashi's back and just holding him. He kissed Akaashi's jaw. "Love you… love you so much…"

Akaashi opened one eye and smiled warmly at him.

Bokuto kissed his forehead. "Sleepy time."

"Mhmm."

"Just for a bit though." Bokuto whispered, easing closer and closing his eyes. "A few minutes is all I need..."

Akaashi hummed. "Just a few minutes."

I just stopped a PTSD attack. That was fun. Um. Proud of myself for that. Also tired asf. Welp.
