19. Nervous

"Mm. Ko? What're you doing?" Akaashi mumbled, half asleep as he sat up in bed.

"Don't worry, she's calmed down now." Bokuto whispered from his seat in the chair in their room. "She just needed a little bit of noise to calm down… didn't you little Emmy?"

Akaashi smiled. "You took care of her…" He got up and walked over, taking Bokuto's face in his hands and kissing him. "I love you so much. Thank you for that."

"Of course sweetheart!" Bokuto chuckled. "You okay?"

"Mhmm." Akaashi sat beside him. "Just nervous."

"About?"

"Today… telling our parents about well… Emiko being blind. My mother is going to be pissed of at me for having a disabled child but I absolutely love Emiko." Akaashi sighed. "But it's okay. She's ours."

"Yep. It's okay." Bokuto leaned over. "Cause we love her. I love you. It'll be alright."

Akaashi smiled. "I love you too."

Emiko whined in Bokuto's arms.

Akaashi took her carefully, smiling. "Hi there princess. You hungry?" Emiko whined again. Akaashi eased his shirt up. "Here we go."

Emiko drank, quieted. Bokuto laughed and stroked Akaashi's hair. "Hey, hey, hey after this we can take a shower. And you can hold her if you want in there. Like the doctor told us."

"Right." Akaashi smiled.

Bokuto smiled back. He stood carefully before getting their clothes and something for Emiko.

"Remember the first time we bathed her?"

Bokuto laughed. "Ooh yeah. Definitely."

"You freaked out cause she squealed at you. It was funny."

"Not that funny. She scared me!"

"Koutarou, she's a baby. She won't hurt you."

"She is a little noise maker." Bokuto huffed.

"So are you." Akaashi got up and went with Bokuto the the bathroom, holding Emiko close to his chest.

Bokuto took her and kissed her head. "Hi there!"

"Ah!"

Bokuto chuckled. "Hi Emmy!" He let out some of his scent. "It's Daddy!"

Emiko giggled.

Akaashi tested the water, smiling. "She's so sweet."

"She's my little noise maker." Bokuto put her on the counter, undressing her carefully.

When he was done he put her on his chest and stepped into the shower. Akaashi turned and smiled. "Hi there princess." He kissed her forehead gently. "Promise not to get too much water on you."

Emiko kicked with all her might, which honestly wasn't that much and huffed. She whined loudly, irritated by something.

Akaashi took her in his arms and bounced her. "Hush, hush. It's okay. No reason to be fussy."

Emiko kept whining, frustrated.

Akaashi sighed. "What in the world?"

"I dunno." Bokut mumbled. He closed the shower curtain.

Instantly Emiko stopped whining and calmed back down. Akaashi raised his brows. "Okay then."

Bokuto shrugged. He yawned. "Let's get this little rascal clean."

Akaashi chuckled.

Bokuto hummed and gently got Akaashi closer to the water. Akaashi eased forward, only letting the water on his back to keep Emiko dry for now. Bokuto rubbed his his back with a cloth, gentle as ever.

Akaashi smiled, holding Emiko close and reaching behind him to get water to sprinkle on her.

She whined, not ready for it.

"Shhhh, I'm sorry." Akaashi kissed her head. "It's okay…"

Emiko huffed, shifting. She kept still from there as Bokuto washed himself and then took her back.

Akaashi quickly washed himself and then took helped Bokuto out with cleaning Emiko, knowing she wasn't fond of sudden touch.

When they were done everyone was dressed and dried, feeling better. Emiko fell back asleep and Akaashi made Bokuto breakfast so he wouldn't get cranky from being hungry later.

Bokuto glanced into the backseat, worried. Akaashi was leaning over to Emiko's car seat, trying to get her to stay asleep.

"Sweetheart… I don't think it matters if she's awake when we get there. It's gonna be quiet anyways."

"Shhhh. She's almost there." Akaashi mumbled.

Bokuto sighed. "Fine. But it's literally like two turns so if she wakes up you can't get mad at me."

"I wouldn't get mad Ko."

"Mm." Bokuto turned, biting his lip. "Well your dad would support us… right? Both of my dads would be fine with it…"

"At this point I don't know." Akaashi mumbled.

Bokuto parked, taking a deep breath. "We've got this. Emiko is ours."

"Of course. Akaashi got out and then picked Emiko up out of the car seat. "Hey princess… shhhh. I've got you."

Bokuto bounced on his toes for a second, still nervous. He leaned over and kissed Akaashi. "Sorry. I got shaky."

"It's okay." Akaashi smiled. "In."

Bokuto took a deep breath.

Akaashi waited a few seconds. "Out. Slow."

Bokuto exhaled slowly.

The younger male smiled. "Good job. It's okay. Can you get me the stroller?"

"Yeah." Bokuto got the stroller out. "There we go."

Akaashi set Emiko in the stroller. She whined a few times before relaxing and giggling quietly. Akaashi smiled. "Good girl. You're adorable…"Bokuto held Akaashi's hand, relaxing as well. Akaashi smiled at him. "We've got this."

"Yep."

Akaashi stood up, yawning. "Let's just get this done with." He rolled it into the little restaurant.

Bokuto immediately spotted his parents and started to get excited, wanting to go to them immediately. When he did both stood and hugged him, happy. Akaashi stood there, worried.

"Ah! Keiji!" Bokuto turned. "Come get some hugs!"

"U-um okay…" Akaashi stepped closer and was taken into a hug by both men. He smiled. "Hey…"

"You doing okay new mom?"

"Yes. Thank you."

"No problem."

Akaashi turned to the little girl next to him. He smiled. Carefully, he took her out. Emiko laid on his chest, smiling with her lopsided little smile. Bokuto smiled.
