John watched Bridget walk away from him, look over her shoulder and wave. He waved back, biting his lip as she walked away. You only just met her, don't hang yourself up, Lennon.

When Bridget finally faded from view, he turned his attention to his sister. A small smirk graced his face as his mischievous side took over. Delilah's nose was stuck in a book, which made her an easy target.

John smirked and took large, slow steps, like a zombie or a creeper from Scooby Doo, then when he was close enough, he extended his arms, shouting, pushing Delilah over in her chair. Her body jerked away from him and she dropped her book.

"What the hell, John?" She groaned and stood up, picking up her book and chucking it at his chest. He laughed when he caught it and smiled at her. Delilah looked into his eyes and realized just who she was standing in front of. "John Winston Lennon, you're here..."

"Delilah Esther Lennon, you're here," he grinned and held out his arms to her, "you're finally here."

Delilah giggled and launched herself into his arms, latching around his neck and onto his shoulders. Holding her tight around her waist, John laughed and lifted her up and spun her around. Delilah squealed as her hat almost flew off.

When John finally set her down, they were both somewhere between laughing and crying. She smiled at him and fixed her hairstyle, "I never thought I'd be so glad to see you again Johnny."

"It seems like only yesterday, I was waving to an airplane, flying to Spain. Happiest day of my life by far."

Delilah gasped and playfully punched his shoulder.

"And might I add, what a lass you've turned into, Delilah." He smirked and cupped her face in his hands.

"Stop calling me that, it sounds so evil," She rolled her eyes and groaned. "I so prefer Lila."

"In your dreams." John laughed and hugged her again. "You're so grown up now."

Lila couldn't help but smile and hug him back, tightly. "I had to grow up sometime, Johnny. We can't stay kids forever."

"I know..." He trailed off and sighed, stroking her hair. "Remember what dad said?"

Lila shook her head no as a wave of nostalgia washed over her. She missed John so much, he had basically become her father through the years. In fact, she barely remembered their dad. He held her all the time when she was a young child, and that's all she knew.

"He told me to look out for you, to protect you, to kill any scum who broke your heart." He chuckled.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah, but I guess now that you're all grown up, you don't need me anymore." He hugged her a little tighter as he too dove into his memory bank.

"John..."

"And you've proven me right... Fuck, you used to count on me for everything , and now you spent two years without me."

"John, look at me," Lila leaned back a little and looked up, and John looked down at her. They were both teary eyed. "I will always be your little sister, and I will always, always need you."

John smiled small and kissed her forehead. "I just feel like I missed so much. You don't rely on me as much as you used to."

"Well now you'll have me pestering you for months on end." Lila giggled and shrugged, wiping her eyes.

"Dad would be so damn proud of his little girl." He wiped his eyes too and cleared his throat.

Lila picked up her bag and stood up tall, fighting tears once again. "And he would be proud of his boy, too."
