Chapter 19: Fight back
"Now's the time to attack." You started off as you pulled up a holo-map of the remaining Galran empires.
"Yes but we must take caution," Kolivan brought up some video footage of something that seemed like a battlefield. "Since Zarkon is out of commission, there are other Galrans that are trying to take over by battling each other.
"And do we know what Lotor's next move will be?" You asked looking through the files.
"We have intel that he'll be arriving on planet Sablion to pick up something from the post in about two days."
"Then we'll be there tomorrow morning. Kolivan, tell the others to get the gear ready while we finish the details and put me in contact with the mechanics cause i'm gonna need help to finish the repairs on White. Bellox, Ezran, you two will get the rebels ready..." You kept giving orders and made sure no one was left standing around doing nothing.
Shiro watched in amazement at how efficient you were. Well, you were their leader for that very reason. You gave indications left and right without missing a beat and Shiro was more than impressed.
As you kept planning, you caught Shiro's glance and felt a bit embarrassed all of a sudden, he had that look, you know, the 'proud dad look.'
"So what do you suggest Shiro." You began, hoping he would stop that ridiculous expression. "You know how the others work as a team better than I do." Shiro blinked a few times before answering more seriously.
"Right, let's talk strategy."

"So this is planet Sablion." Keith said to no one in specific as the lions, the castle, along with the rebel fighters and the blade, made it to their destination.
"It's basically a dessert!" Lance exclaimed not really linking the view of sand dunes and dry weather.
"At least we can set up the mines." You said examining the heavily guarded port.
"Alright team, the blade is going to stay at a nearby asteroid to give us air support later in the fight if needed. The rebel fighters are heading to the Southside of the port while we take the Northside." Shiro instructed. Everyone nodded their heads in understanding and headed to a spot far enough so they won't be seen.
"Pidge, you and I are going to get close to get a full scan of the place, we need to get eyes inside that place." You indicated. Everyone except you and Pidge landed their lions. "We'll be back soon." You said through the communicator as you two left.
You both put up the cloaking setting in your lions and hovered above without being noticed.
"We've got about 10 minutes, commencing scanning." You said and waited for White to get the info. But you heard an error sound and noticed that the lower level of the port was encrypted.
"Pidge?"
"I'm already on it." You watched Pidge through your seen as she did her magic. "Damn it, to get the bottom floor I need to get the code from one of the control panels." Pidge racked her brain trying to find a way to get the code without having to leave the lions, but you had other plans.
"I'll have my lion drop me off and I'll get that code." You said already driving your lion closer.
"Wait-"
"Y/n, that's not part of the plan." Shiro appeared on your screen all of a sudden.
"I know it's not but we need the full layout to have this plan work."
"It's too risky, that place is crawling with Galra soldiers." Keith added.
"You're telling me not to be risky? That's rich." You chuckled as you steady your lion, ready to jetpack down there.
"Y/n, don't do it, we can find another way-"
"Keith she's already on the roof." Pidge interrupted with a small chuckle. Keith groaned in annoyance.
You turned on the signal jammer for your suit so they wouldn't track you and made your way into the port and to the main hall. "I'm in, Pidge guide me, where do I get the code." You asked in a whisper through your helmet communicator.
"Head down the hall and you'll see a door at the end of it." She instructed.
"Right." You carefully walked down the hall in a crouch position and paused before crossing every other passageway ready for anything. You could hear footsteps coming from behind and had to turn a corner.
"Y/n?" You could Hear pidge ask in a worried tone.
"Well, this wasn't going to be easy." You said with a small smirk as you pressed your back to the wall as far as you could. You let the guards pass as your heart was ready to burst out of your rib cage. You let out the breath you were holding and made your way back to the main hall. Without any further delays, you made it to the door.
"Now what?" You asked.
"Open the panel next to it and connect the cord that's in the forearm of your paladin suit." You nodded and did as she said. You quickly got to work and managed to load the info.
"Got it! Alright Y/n, start heading back."
"Kay." Was all you said as you rushed down the hall and made it back out without a scratch. "See guys? I'm alive. So let's get back to work!" You cheered and road your lion back to the base with Pidge not far behind.
Keith slumped in his chair feeling better now that you were out of harm's way.
I swear this girls' gonna be the end of me.
Once you arrived at the campsite you put up the inviso-shield --Name created by Ezran-- so the paladins could set up camp while the castle stayed in space along with the Blade.
As everyone was talking about the plan again to make sure there wouldn't be any problems night came by faster than you all expected.
"Oh! And what powers it???" Pidge asked astounded by the 'Inviso-shield'.
"We used the same codes used to create the shield around the lions and the code made to make it go invisible like your lion does basically." You explained. Pidge had stars in her eyes as she inspected it closely. "If you want a better explanation you can ask Bellox, he's the one that made it." You said pointing towards Bellox who had his back casually leaning on your Lion, trying to act cool.
You simply chuckled and called him over.
"Bellox! Teach her how you made it, I'll be over there stuffing my face with food." You said as you walked away and you could already hear all the tech talk coming from the two of them.
"Hey Y/n!" Lance called out. "Come and take a seat next to ol' Lancy Lance." He gave you a wink as he patted the empty seat next to him. The rest of the paladins were all in a circle around the fire as they had some dinner.
"Sure." You shrugged and took a seat between him and Hunk.
"By the way." Hunk began with his mouth full of space goo and who knows what else. "Why aren't you going to the battle with us down here tomorrow? You're a really good fighter from what I've heard." He said in the sweetest way possible as he gulped down the massive amount of food.
You instinctively looked over to Keith who was sitting across from you when Hunk mentioned 'really good fighter'. You could see him visible gulp then look back down at his plate, probably remembering how good of a fighter you really were.
"I'm not going to be there cause Lotor may know about the White Lion but he doesn't know I have it. And I'm probably the most wanted among the whole Galran empire. So it's better if I do air support." You explained as you served yourself some food.
"Right. And why do we have so many people for this mission? Don't you think we're overdoing it with The Blade, The rebel fighters, the caste, and the lions, not to mention the new White lion?" Questioned Lance as he counted everyone with his fingers.
"Better to be safe than sorry." Keith responded bluntly before taking another bite out of his food. Lance furrowed his eyebrows.
"I wasn't talking to you." He then turned his attention back to you.
"He's right." You shrugged. "There are a bunch of soldiers here and they're connected to, I guess you could say, 'Galra Central'. If they let word out that we're trying to capture Lotor and take over this post, I can assure you that there's gonna be a war." You said honestly as you thought about the plan, again and again, looking for any holes that could endanger anyone.
The paladins stayed quiet and continued eating. Once you finished up you dusted yourself off and got up.
"Well, I'd better get going, I have to meet up with the blade and then go to the castle. You guys should get some rest, we've got a big day tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure that the time span of a night here is a lot shorter then we're used to." You advised. Shiro cleared his throat before speaking.
"You should get some rest too." You smiled at him kindly knowing he was acting all father like.
"I will." You walked over to him and place a small kiss on his cheek as a sweet gesture. "Night everyone." You waved goodbye and walked away.
"Looks like you're still the space dad." Pidge said from behind as she got a plate with food and sat along with the others.
"Pidge." Shiro warned.
"Yeah dad?" She tried to contain her laughter along with the other paladins who would snicker. Shiro closed his eyes and his eyebrow twitched in annoyance.
"I'm not a Space dad!"
Celestial-Red
PS. Sorry about the crappy pic, I just wanted to add Y/n in the original one and drew it up real quick.
