Chapter 16: Y/n?
"You guys take care of them. I have some unfinished business to do." You said in a low and menacing voice before running off in the direction that the Galran soldier went.
"Y/n! Wait!" Keith called out, following you, but you were so engulfed by your rage that you couldn't even hear him. You turned corner after corner with only one objective in mind.
Once you spotted him at the end of the hall you immediately bolted over to him and landed a punch on his face.
Keith watched you in shock at how powerful you were.
You sent the guy flying into a wall for crying out loud!
"Where's the witch!" You yelled at the soldier. He carefully got up with help from the wall to his left and gave out a low chuckle.
"Like I would tell y-" You surprised him with a knee to the gut.
"You're gonna tell me where she is or I'll kill you right here and now." The soldier just scoffed and took out a sword and tried to land a few swings at you but you easily dodged and countered them. Your movements were swift yet strong. Keith could tell you had skill and that you knew exactly what you were doing.
You got to pin the soldier against the wall with your blades in an 'x' to his neck.
"I'll ask you one last time. Where. Is. She." You pressed the blades on his neck, making a line of blood appear.
"Vrepit sa." Was the only thing he responded.
"Well then, let's just say this is for killing my boyfriend." You Pushed the blades all the way through and watched as his expression froze, followed by his head rolling off his body and to the ground with an awful thud. With your work done there, you ran down the hallways, killing anyone who got in your way.
Keith, on the other hand, was absolutely mortified.
You had no mercy and straight-up slaughtered the man in cold blood. Was that really the little girl that he loved so much? The one who made him feel at home? The one he loved having by his side? The girl who wouldn't even hurt a fly? That little girl?
Because what he was seeing now was a woman who was thirsty for blood and vengeance. It was someone completely different. Someone he knew nothing about.
"Haggard!" You yelled out as you raced down the long passageways. Keith snapped out of his trance and rushed to try and catch up with you.
You looked at your map and you could see that a large room was coming up on your right. You came to a stop when you reached the doorway and watched in shock. There were so many containers holding purple glowing liquids you assumed this was where they were making the quintessence. You could see how they processed it but in the corner of the room, you could vaguely see her shadow.
"Finally." You said almost out of breath but still ready to rip her throat out. Keith had just caught up and skitted to a stop at the doorway seeing you and the Witch Haggard.
"My dear little Y/n. I wonder how you managed to esca-" You turned your two daggers into handguns, aimed at her head, and shot as many times as possible, interrupting her evil monologue.
"Shut up and fight me!" You yelled at her, not wanting to waste a single second. Haggard smirked and disappeared. You got into a fighting stance and looked all around you.
She suddenly appeared behind you and you barely dodged the magic that was thrown at you. "Y/n!" Keith called out to you. You whipped your head around in shock seeing him there. Taking the chance that you were distracted, Haggard clawed at your arm.
"Gah!!" You cried out.
"Y/n!" Keith started running over to you but you looked at him in horror.
"No! Leave!" You warned him. Keith didn't listen to you and continue his way over to you but you knew what would happen next.
This was the kind of opening she would have wanted.
And after seeing your comrades die, you couldn't let another fall.
"You idiot!" You sprinted over to him and pushed him back with your shoulder. He was completely and utterly confused but then watched in horror as Haggard plunged her hand through your shoulder, making the tips of her fingers appear on the other side, blood trickling down.
"You're so predictable Y/n. As always." Haggard spoke while ripping her hand out. You coughed up blood staining Keith's and your uniform.
"Now it's your turn." Haggard said, stalking over to Keith.
You fell to your knees and then to the floor.
Haggard got ready for her second strike but couldn't follow through since she was shot in her right leg. Keith turned to look at where he shot came from.
"I've got your back buddy!" Lance shouted, followed by Pidge, Hunk, and Shiro appearing as well.
"Hunk, Keith, take her back to the ship, now!" Shiro ordered. The two paladins nodded and rushed to your aid.
Keith took your right arm while Hunk carefully took the left and hoisted you up.
"You think I'm going to let you leave with her just like that, champion?" Haggard disappeared and reappeared in front of you and the others.
"Lance!"
"I'm on it!" Lance aimed and fired a smoke shot, letting you and the others get away Without being seen.
~
You were in the red Lion along with Keith. He sat you down on his lap and pressed on the wound to try and stop the bleeding. Your breathing was barely audible witch made Keith push the thrusters of his lion to the maximum.
"You're gonna make it. You're gonna make it." It sounded more like words to comfort himself than to you. Once he landed in his red lion hanger, Keith immediately took you to the healing pod room, there was Allura waiting with a new Healing suit.
Keith left the room so she could dress you in a new suit and waited until the door slid open again.
"How's she doing?" Keith asked more desperately then intended.
"She'll be fine." She said simply with a concentrated look on her face.
"Allura?" Keith asked, not understanding her change in mood.
"Just watch over her." She replied in a somewhat rude manner. Keith nodded and let her walk out. As she left, the other paladins walked into the room.
"What's up with Allura?" Pidge asked. Keith shrugged his shoulder, not really knowing what was going on.
"How's...Y/n?" Hunk asked, worried about his friend.
"Allura says she'll be fine." Keith sighed and walked over to your pod along with the others.
"You know," Lance began as he took slow steps towards your pod. "It's kinda funny how her face hasn't changed much since when she was little." He gave out a small chuckle. "She just looks more mature."
"Well, now we have even more questions to be answered," Hunk spoke up.
"That's true." Pidge backed up.
"Was she originally this old? Or was she turned into an older person?" Lance question as he examined your facial features.
"Well, when she was out of the healing pod the first time she said 'I'm back'. I'm guessing that means she was turned into a kid." Keith explained.
"So it's back to square one." Shiro said. Everyone stayed quiet until Matt walked into the room. All eyes were on him.
"Matt, how do you know her?" Pidge asked first.
"Well..." He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I can't really tell you guys anything right now." He said sadly.
"What, why?" Asked Shiro with his eyebrows furrowed.
"It's... complicated." He sighed.
"Matt this isn't the time for 'personal' issues." Pidge walked over to her brother.
"I'm sorry Pidge but I can't." Everyone was frustrated being kept in the dark.
"Well... patience yields focus?"
