Everything was dark and you couldn't even see your hand in front of you.

Hello?...

You waited for a response but nothing happened.

You could feel something soft under you, it was probably your bed. Soft and nice like always with that familiar scent. Soon you felt yourself move from side to side slightly.

Someone was trying to wake you up.

Slowly, you fluttered open your eyes. You squinted as they adjusted to the lighting then rubbed your eyes. Finally being able to recognize what you were seeing, Shiro was sitting in front of you. You instantly sat up and backed away in fear. But as you looked closer, you noticed. It was really him! Tears started to accumulate in the corners of your eyes until they fell rapidly onto your bedsheets.

"Daddy!" You cried out as you threw yourself into his arms.

"It's okay Y/n, I'm here now." He whispered to you as he caressed your head in a soothing manner. 

You really couldn't believe he was there with you. It was as if by some kind of magic everything really did turn out alright. 

While you were asleep the paladins took the chance to take down the fake Shiro, not wanting to get you involved, that wasn't your fight and there was no need for you to get hurt, they took the needed precautions like locking up your room and putting the whole castle in red alert. There was no way that evil Shiro would win.

And this was what they were all waiting for, seeing that genuine smile on your small face. That's when you noticed that the other Paladins were also in your room.

"Thank you, everyone!" You said to them wholeheartedly as you wiped away your tears with your sleeves. They smiled at you and simply nodded.

Then you turned to Keith.

"Keef!" You stretched your arms out towards him. He bent down as if to carry you but you surprised him by planting a kiss on his lips as you've done before. "Thank you for keeping your promise."

Everyone started to look at Keith with that face.

You know.

That face.

"She does that as a way of saying thank you!" Keith corrected before anyone could say anything.

"Sure. Sure. So what does it feel like? You know, to have your second kiss from a 2-year-old?" Lance said while trying to hide his laughter.

"She's not my first kiss! And she's 3!" Keith corrected, clearly pissed. Technically it was his first kiss, but there was no way in hell he would say that out loud. Not unless he wanted to die of embarrassment.

"Oh! Y/n, I want you to meet someone!" Pidge said as she picked you up in her arms to take you to the lounge.

You watch Pidge as she walked down the hallway in excitement.

Just what was the big surprise? Maybe she got you a dog!!!

You two finally made it to the lounge and noticed the was someone else with Allura.

"Mommy?" You said trying to get her attention. She turned around along with the boy with hair the same color as Pidges'.

"And this is Y/n. The girl I mentioned before." Allura introduced as soon as she saw you. Pidge put you down and you hid behind her legs.

"It's okay Y/n. That's my brother Matt." She told you sweetly. You nodded your head and peeked out on the side. You wanted a dog, but a new friend was good too.

"H-Hello." You said nervously.

"Oh my God." Matt began as he walked over to you."She's..." You were a little intimidated and hid half of your face.

"PRECIOUS!!!" Pidge took a side step and let Matt carry you into the air. "You're so adorable!" You couldn't help but blush. All it took was his dashing smile and sweet words for you to trust him.

The other Paladins started walking into the lounge and watched as you giggled and laughed as you played tag with your new friend Matt.

"Well I don't know about you guys but I think we all deserve ourselves a break." Said Lance as he stretched his arms in front of him.

"I think you're right lance, what you say we all take a break today?" Shiro said seeing that his team was very tired.

"Yes!! I'll be in the kitchen if anyone needs me." Hunk was the first one to leave so he could experiment more with the Altean food.

"And it's time I finally gave this," Lance gestured towards his face. "a much-needed spa day." And with that Lance left the room.

"I think I'm just going to get some rest." Shiro said simply with a yawn, they all knew he needed some sleep.

"You should get some rest as well princess." Advised Coran.

"I think I'll be in the pool if anyone needs me." Allura then walked out.

"And I'll be playing around with that new Galra tech we found!" Pidge tapped your nose making you giggle sweetly. "Matt, mind helping me out? I'll show you all the tech we have~!" Matt's eyes lit up and followed behind his sister.

And now it was just you and Keith.

"You wanna play in the training room?" He offered. Your eyes lit up and you nodded your head multiple times.

"Yeah!"

You watch as Keith fought with the Gladiator from a safe distance. Every once in awhile Keith would smile when he would hear your small cheers of, "Go Keef!" You tried to mimic his moves and the way he would dodge the gladiator's hits.

As this continued on, Keith managed to get the upper hand and destroy the gladiator. It fell to the ground with a clatter and you cheered and ran over to him. You observed the gladiator and even poked it out of curiosity. Suddenly, it fell through a hole in the ground! You gasped and took a step back. You looked at Keith with a big grin on your face.

"I beat it!!!" Keith couldn't help but laugh and hold up his hand for you to give him a high five.

"You sure did Kiddo." Keith watched as you tried to mimic his fighting style in a childish way. "You wanna practice with me?" He asked you.

"Yeah!" Keith jogged over to a closet with some fighting equipment and found some wooden sticks. Because giving a weapon to a child was always a good idea in Keith's mind. Jogging back over to you, he gave you the smallest one that was just your size.

"Ready?" He asked you with a wooden sword extended towards you. You looked at your weapon and then at Keith.

"Ready!" You held your sword like he was and then started thrashing it around. Keith tried his best to 'fight back' and let you hit him once or twice and it wasn't that bad since you weren't hitting that hard.

"Oh no!" Keith pretended to stumble back on his feet and fall on the floor. You giggled and smacked him dead center of his head. "Ow!" Keith rubbed his head. That last one actually hurt. He then showed you a mischievous smile and surprised you by picking you up, making your wooden sword fall to the ground.

"Now I've got you!" He joked while spinning you around. You laughed wholeheartedly as you went round and round but then Keith suddenly stopped.

"What's that?" He acted as if he was getting a call from Allura. "The castles in danger?" You gasped. "Come on Y/n, you have to get to your lion." Keith then rose you high up. "Our favorite little Paladin is here to help!" You laughed as you spread your arms to your side as if you were flying. Keith zoomed around the training room doing something he hasn't in the longest time.

Have fun.

You loved seeing him so happy as he played with you. You wanted to play forever if it would keep that bright smile on his face.

Keith watched as you giggled and laughed as he made you fly through the sky. At that moment, he was starting to realize that he really liked seeing you happy, as any 3-year-old child should be.

Not having a care in the world.

He wanted it to stay that way. He loved being around you, it would always make him feel better. He finally realized that in the end, he really did love you, just like Shiro mentioned before. You just had something that made him feel at home.

Keith never had any siblings or a real family for that matter, so it was refreshing having you by his side. Keith then puts you back down on the ground and sat next to you.

"Thank you Keef!" You said before jumping and attacking him with a hug. Keith gratefully took the hug and gave you a tight squeeze.

"So when are you gonna be able to say my name right?" He asked you with a chuckle. You looked at him with your eyebrows raised.

"Keef! um...Keeife! Keep, no...Keeeeeeeeef!" You tried your best but this only made him laugh out loud.

"Nice try Kiddo, Just stick to Keef." He ruffled your hair and then attacked you with the tickle monster! You two laughed and laughed but then heard the main speakers of the castle turn on.

"Paladins! I need you to be on high alert, there are Galran soldiers that have infiltrated the castle so-ah!" Keith quickly stood up with you in his arms.

"Let's go with the others." You nodded seeing that the situation has changed. But before either one of you could leave the training room, there were century soldiers blocking the only exit with a Galran leader at the front.

"So this is where you were Y/n."
