Intro

I had just gotten done with the lasagna, waiting for my husband to come home from work. I jumped after hearing the loud roar of thunder. Glancing out the window, I noticed how hard it was raining, knowing it might take him a bit longer to get home. I sat at the table with my plate, our cat, Karen hopping on the table to join me. An hour past. Then two. I decided to call him. It was his phone, but not his voice. "H-hello? Baby?" My hand was shaky. "Hello? Who's this?" The voice on the phone asked. That's when I got concerned and confused. "Um, this is Moon's husband, who are you?" I snapped, though I didn't mean to sound rude. "This is Dr-" I didn't even let him finish before I broke down sobbing. "Oh god....oh god...what hospital?" I asked, wanting to get to him as soon as possible. "Angels & Hope, your husband has been in a terrible accident and is in a coma," I almost regret letting him finish, but at least I kinda knew what to expect. It was much worse than I thought though. As I reached the hospital, I felt the world spinning, literally. I tried to catch my breath as I entered the white building and walked over to the receptionist counter. "Moon S-Stonehart," I choked out, my eyes blurry and hot from the tears I was fighting. She gave me a sympathetic look and then pointed towards the elevator. "Room B47," She told me. I quickly staggered my way to the elevator and rode up to the third floor before headed to room B47. I pushed passed the several doctors before reaching my husband, laying there as if barely holding on to life. I knelt down as I gently rubbed his hand before kissing it. "Hey, hey. Moon, it's me, I need you to wake up. Please...wake up. Wake up," tears ran down my face as I stared into his pale face, looking for any signs of consciousness. There was none. He was out cold. This worried me very much. "I'm sorry sir, we'll do our best to take care of him," one of the doctors rested his hand on my shoulder as if to comfort me. It wasn't working. I closed my eyes tightly. "H-he's going to wake up, he has to," I muttered before turning to the doctor. "Please tell me he'll be okay!" I frowned. The doctor nodded. "We'll do our best to take care of him," he repeated. That didn't ease me at all. "M-mind if I stay here?" I sniffles. "Of course, but I'm not sure if he'll be here much longer," the doctor said. My eyes widened. "What do you mean?! Where are you taking him?!" I panicked. "I'm afraid we're gonna have to take him for surgery, he has major brain trauma that needs to be addressed," the doctor said. I was sobbing even more. How could this have happened?! Why now? Why him? Why me? Oh God. Why. I was a bawling mess as they wheeled him out for surgery.
