Wishes and  blessings poured in,
Everyone wanting to catch a glimpse.
While I leisurely spent time
Observing her hands and feet and lips.

Silently, I placed a hand on her cheek
And Oh! How soft it felt!
So tiny, so adorable little darling
In front of her, even heavens could melt

Holding her tiny little hands
I marvelled at her beauty
Silently placing a kiss on her hand,
In my heart, I blessed my cutie

Lost in her own world,
She slept all day long.
Crying occasionally in between,
She woke up at night to play along!

As my baby was laid next to me,
I swear I could look at her till eternity
Holding her tiny little fingers
A myriad of emotions ran through me.

Astonishment, wonder, delight
Excitement, happiness and what not
All came rushing all at once
Looking at my tiny little one.

And as she was given to her father,
Out came the princess's tongue
The message was loud and clear
She would be daddy's naughty little girl

But along with all the happiness,
There was a fear too
Will we be able to do everything perfectly?
For our baby, we too were parents new.

From holding my baby to making her sleep
From feeding her to changing her nappy
Everything was new to us
And we struggled to be good mommy-daddy

And to top all of that,
Were the sleepless nights
For my baby loved to sleep in day
And play the whole night.

Sometimes she made us laugh,
While sometimes she brought us joy
Looking at her small little antics
Even waking up late, we enjoyed.

Hundreds of photos and videos clicked
Of how she moves her hands or legs
Of how she looks like while sleeping
Or how she does this or that..

Clearly, we had a new celebrity in house!
