Chapter 6

Nashi's eyes opened.

She slowly rose herself up and sat still on her bed. She looked around in her room and hummed. "Hopefully Dad gets the message to not just storm into my room like he did last night. Mom really needs to hear about this, he's going psycho"

She pushed aside her bed sheets and stood up off of bed.

Stretching her arms and yawning, she walked her way towards the bathroom. It was still early and her family was probably still asleep.

Entering and closing the bathroom's door behind her, Nashi walked her way to the mirror placed above the sink. There she observed herself.

What was with that dream she had last night?

Emily and Storm?

Psh.. Yeah right..

Nashi shook her head, splashing some cold water onto her face. It was just a dream and besides, Storm wouldn't cheat on her they've been together for a year and some months and she basically knew him all her life.

She knew when he was lying when he was hurting and even when he tried keeping secrets from her.

Mostly when it was her birthday and he tried keeping his mouth shut about there being a surprise party.

Either way she knew her boyfriend.

And why was she even overthinking this?

Probably because that dream caught her off guard.

After brushing her teeth and doing her business, she exited the bathroom. Her nose twitched soon as Nashi inhaled the scent of bacon and eggs.

Oh boy! Her mom probably woke up earlier than expected. She quickly walked downstairs and entered the kitchen. She was hungry.

There she saw her pregnant mother making breakfast while muttering words to herself. Lucy looked deep in thought as she didn't notice her daughter's presence. Her long blonde hair was tied in a back ponytail as she wore her nightgown.

"Morning Mom!" Nashi said to her mother's back.

Lucy jumped in surprised but later scorned herself.

She turned to Nashi and grumbled, "Do you have to be so loud?"

Nashi eyed her confused as she pulled and sat on a chair by the dinner table. "Gee, I'm sorry Mom. I didn't mean to startle you" Her mother turned around and continued making breakfast.

"So how was your morning?", Nashi started a conversation.

"The worst", Lucy responded.

"How come? Where's Dad?" Nashi rose her pink brow in question.

"Don't know. Don't care"

This response didn't surprise her. Her mother was cranky.

"He wrote a note saying he'll be on an early mission but he's probably in the lake catching fish with Happy.." , Lucy continued "..anything to spend less time with his family I suppose. That bastard"

Nashi sighed and said, "You know Dad's been getting more and more creepy by day. I caught him last night in my room just staring at me, he was probably watching me while I slept"

Lucy groaned in response.

"Nashi please, let's not talk about your father this morning. I'm angry and this baby's been making my back ache since I got up"

Lucy turned around and passed Nashi a plate filled with crispy bacon and boiled eggs.

"You may have to help yourself with some juice. It's in the fridge"

"It's okay Mom. Come sit, you look tired"

Lucy sat in front of her daughter and rested her head on the table. She was exhausted.

"You don't have to over work yourself Mom" Nashi said, feeling sad her father had her mother going through the trouble. "It's the job of being a wife and mother sweetheart, you'll understand when you settle down with a husband and kids one day" Lucy sat up and forced a smile.

Through her smile Nashi saw sadness and loneliness.

"You can always depend on me. You know I will help you through any trouble"

Lucy smiled at her oldest daughter. She really was a person to rely on when in need. She remembered Nashi giving her daily massages when she was pregnant with the twins, how she rubbed her sore feet when her husband was too tired from a mission and how she helped her cook meals for the family sometimes.

Lucy inwardly smiled.

But.. Lucy was a strong woman. She didn't wanted to stress her daughter out with these things.

"It's okay sweetheart. Everything's fine"

Nashi showed a tight smile, looking down. Oh was she so angry at her father for having her mother in this state and knowing her mother she wouldn't complain about anything, at least not to her.

"Are you going to the guild today?" Lucy smiled.

"Yeah, aren't you coming as well?" Nashi chummed on her food.

Lucy shook her head.

"I'm in too much pain to actually walk there but could you help with tagging along the twins with you? Igneel'll stay home with me, I really can't cope with their noises today"

"Sure no problem" Nashi agreed and Lucy ruffled her pink locks making the teen giggle.

"Good girl and Nashi?"

Nashi looked at her mother.

"I'm really proud of you"

Her chocolate orbs softened at her mother. "Mom.."

"I SMELL BACON!"

The girls chuckled as footsteps came running down the stairs in a rush.

"Cheater! I was here first!" Luna yelled at her brother who pushed her aside and dashed in the kitchen.

"Mom I smell bacon!" Luke roared excitedly.

Both Lucy and Nashi sweat dropped at the blonde boy.

"Luke, where's your clothes?"
