"Tonight isn't over just yet."
Yoongi's words rung in the front of Jimin mind while his boyfriend wrapped his arm around his and lead him down the sidewalk.
The ambient noise of the fun fair slowly faded away into the chilled distance of the night. The wind hustled the tall trees along the sidewalk, creating a delightful noise to accompany the couple.
"Yoongi? Where are we goi-"
As soon as they turned the corner of the street, a small wagon attached to one single horse came into view. A man dressed in black stood by the wagon, waiting for his guests.
"W-what is this?" The sight had Jimin stopped once he indeed realized that this was solely for him. He tugged at the elder's flannel clad arm.
Yoongi turned shallowly, a small smile making its way onto his lips. "Are you ready?"
"Am I ready? Ready for what? You did this for me?" Jimin was still astonished. He thought the highlight of their date was the fun fair, man...was he wrong!
Yoongi tiled his head. He contempted about saying something sarcastic, but tonight wasn't about sarcasm. "Just follow me. Trust me, you'll have fun." His voice evened out as he took the younger's hand and lead him up to the wagon.
"Good evening, gentlemen. Climb aboard and enjoy your night's ride."
Yoongi held the boy's hand tightly while Jimin carefully boarded. In the corner if his eye, Yoongi could hardly catch a glimpse of what was the coachman giving him a wink.
"Little me would be going crazy over this." Jimin giggled once his boyfriend has boarded.
Without much warning, the wagon began to move, lurching forward a few times down the road before it caught steady, smooth movement on the pavement.
"Where are we going?" The smaller asked, his hand still clutching the bigger one tightly, as if it would prevent any injury that could occur.
Yoongi gave a low hum. "First we're going to drive through downtown."
"And then where?"
"You'll see."
Yoongi used a hand to turn Jimin's head towards him. His soft lips met Jimin's cherry ones in a brief kiss before the younger cuddled himself against Yoongi.
Both of the boy's hair rustled slightly in the chilly air. The clutter of the metal horseshoe on the horse's hooves clicked and clacked against the pavement beneath them.
Soon enough, their slow and relaxing speed lead them into the heart of downtown.
It was almost like a light switch had been turned on upon the couple's arrival. Hundreds of lights flickered on in the tall skyscraper-like buildings.
The street lights didn't soften the light by much, they only created an alluring glow to the city. The sonance of cars and vehicles buzz around them.
Yoongi turned at the right moment to watch as Jimin's face shifted into one of awe and astonishment. The boy's skin was glowing like honey under the cast of the light. His lips parted only enough for the tips of his front teeth to be seen. His eyes. It was as if Jimin's eyes held the city in them.
At that moment, Yoongi had no regret for what he had decided to do this night. This night he spent with Jimin only made him certain of what he truly wanted. This night made him certain of what he truly needed.
Yoongi's thoughts weren't interrupted, they buzzed in the back of his mind like static on a tv. The wheels of the wagon came to a halt in front of a pathway in the middle of two small buildings.
Only looks of love were exchanged as Yoongi held out his hand solely for Jimin's smaller one to take to aid him in getting out of the wagon safely.
The younger gently patted the horse and they both bowed in respect and thanks to the coachman before walking up to the stone pathway.
"That was amazing." Jimin seemed out of breath by the beauty in which the lit up city held. He smiles fondly at his boyfriend, their hands still intertwined.
"It was, wasn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed tonight...but there's something else I wanted to show you."
There it was again, that giddy, cheerful smile that Jimin had worn throughout the entire night the two spent together. He was glad it wasn't ending just yet.
The two walked down the pathway, passing by the old buildings and into a small patch of grass on either side of the stones on which they walked upon.
"A garden?" Jimin wondered once his nose took hold the scent of roses.
"You like it?" Yoongi asked, kind of worried that Jimin didn't approve of his choice.
Jimin shook his head, giving the other's hand a squeeze. "No, I love it! It's quite a way to end such an amazing night. I can't believe the fun I've had."
Yoongi smiles softly. "There's just one more thing though."
Jimin cocked his head to the side a centimeter. He barely had anytime to think of a response before the shine of the moonlight illuminated the stone path. He followed it down and around.
As they approached a curve, he could see yet another wonder.
They had approached a small path of trees. Their branches extended way above their heads and over the path. What had Jimin marveled was the lanterns that decorated it's branches, causing the path have spots of dim light and spots of shade.
The timing couldn't have been better. Yoongi stopped them in their tracks once they came to the middle of the trees. Lightning bugs flashed on and off around them.
Yoongi made a mental note to thank the owners of the floral shop by the garden later for the work they put in in making this possible. It was beyond his imagination.
He swept that thought aside once another one popped in his head. He couldn't get it mind off the man in front of him. And God does Jimin look beautiful.
"Jimin..."
"Y-Yoongi...?" Jimin was surprised once Yoongi took both of his hands in his instead of one. He wanted to ask questions, but he just...couldn't.
"God, Jimin. I-I don't know where to start." Yoongi's breathy laughter filled the comfortable silence. "I had everything planned out until this moment and I...I can't even put into words how happy you make me feel on a daily basis."
Jimin's cheeks turned a rosy pink. He watched with eyes as big as the moon while Yoongi began fidgeting in his hold.
"Fuck, I love you. I love your eyes, your nose. I love your sweet smile and your bubbly giggle when we have tickle fights. I love the look in your eyes when you kiss me. I love the look on your face when you call me daddy or I call you baby boy...I can't express how much I love you in words, and it pains me greatly to know that you aren't permanently mine."
Yoongi was obviously getting flustered, and Jimin couldn't ignore it. Something was happening, the feeling in his gut was starting to feel like butterflies.
"I've thought about this moment and how I would ask you...tonight just clarified that what I feel towards you is everlasting. Everything in my soul is telling me that this is true, that we are meant to be together...forever. So...Park Jimin..."
Yoongi reached into his pocket before looking Jimin in the eye and pulling out a small black box.
Jimin's face retorted into shock, love, and happiness all at once. It was almost as if he was unreadable from the amount of emotion running through his veins. "Y-Yoongi..." He whispered once Yoongi had gotten down on one knee in front of him, the black box held up high with a small diamond ring in the center.
"Will you...Jimin, will you marry me? Please?"
The younger squealed instantly. His cheeks already has swollen, tears streaming down them. Yoongi took it as a sign and got up, only to be immediately embraced by the smaller man.
Before anything could be said, Jimin had Yoongi's face squished between his hands as he peppered his man with kisses over and over. With one last kiss to the lips, they parted slightly.
"I-Is that a yes?" Yoongi asked softly, his lips slightly reddened from Jimin's. He held the ring up to the other.
"Of course, you big dumb dumb lollipop! Yes, I'll marry you!" Jimin's voice cracked as he still cried.
Yoongi carefully slid the ring onto Jimin's finger. The smaller stood back and analyzed it, a big smile on his lips.
"I've waited and it finally happened." His words muffled in Yoongi's shoulder as they hugged close. "I love you, Min Yoongi."
"And I love you, Park Jimin."
It was almost as a movie, some might call it cliché. But none of that mattered at this moment in time. Two lovers came together to soon be one unit. They had found their happiness with each other. They had found their purpose.
The end.
