One girl. Two separate lives. Dodging the collisions.
A sort, civil war, so to speak was going on. Holding up both sides was hard for a young, 15 year-old girl to do. If either side found out she was working for the other, it would lead to complete and utter destruction. She couldn't just leave one side, they both know it would be the end of the battle, the opposition would win, the would kill her if she left. That is just the beginning of the battle, she has friends, family, and enemies on all sides. What could she do?
COMING SOON
Running through the streets, dimly lit street lamps shone the way, my boots splashed the water, hair whipped in my face. I could handle this, two conferences in one night. I can do it. Maybe, just, call and say I'll be late? Nope. I can't be late. Pepre was waiting for me to get there and so was Brothal. Couldn't disappoint either of them, they'd get suspicious, I'm their best friend. I ran to the alleyway behind the car garage on Main Street and took the key out of my soaking wet jacket pocket. I quickly shoved it into the keyhole of the door.
"We're attacking tomorrow at exactly noon!" Pepre shouted at Maximus. "No! It's 1:30!" He retorted. "You're both wrong," I said smirking. The gave me an agitated look. "We attack at 1:00." Rebecca added. I smiled. If Pepre wasn't my best friend, Rebecca was. She was so nice and funny too. I'd choose her out of both sides. I heard footsteps from the west hallway. I sat at my seat at the head of the table, and my advisors slash friends followed. The army entered the boardroom and sat. I looked sternly over them. I was the head of the intelligence agency, so I wouldn't have to fight, but I gathered intelligence for them. "Tomorrow we will being attacking their weaponry stash. It will be dangerous, we have to be secretive, take out the guards, grab weapons get out. Pepre will give you the map." As the meeting dragged on, I looked to the clock. I'd only have ten minutes!! "Dismissed." I announced quickly, then packed up my things, and left.
I grabbed a bike left at the curb and hopped on. Nobody would mind it being gone, it was beat-up and it was a community bike, I might actually be doing them a favor. I sped down the street to another alleyway. I dropped the bike at the front of the neighboring store and left it there. I walked down the alley and climbed up the fire escape. I ran across the roof and made it to the small gap in between two buildings I slid down the ladder there. The only way to get to the gap was over the building. This side had purchased both buildings to hollow out an entryway to a large meeting room, where secret topics were discussed. I picked the drain key out out of my pocket and the "sewage system" entrance opened. I carefully climbed down the stairs and knocked on the door twice. Brothal opened the door, I slipped in, and he quickly closed it. "Your mother is waiting for you." He said. "Great, another problem to deal with." He looked at me oddly. I knew he didn't know what I meant, but I said it anyway. "Problem at school?" I nodded. School is the code name for the side I work for. He doesn't know, and no one does, so I can call it school. I print worksheets and stuff to make it seems realistic, and sometimes I do them in front of him.
I walked down the hallway and opened the door at the end. "Hi Mom!" I said, cheerily.
She frowned. What could I do?

THANKS SO MUCH!
Thanks for reading my new book and supporting my writing. I will still continue Jedi Academy for a while, I don't how long though. Thanks again.
~ZoneTimeSwimmer
"So we need more information in the enemy." She states, out of the blue. "What? No, hello, how was your day?" I say. "Hello, how was your day?" She says. "Good, and what are you talking about, more information?" I ask slightly worried. "You need to get past enemy lines. We will send one of our buses on an off route that day. It will break down, you will run away to 15759, Roullet Ave. Here's a map." She explained. Get past enemy lines, but I'll be on the bus system. That'll work. Won't somebody get suspicious? "Fine." I say, obviously not in favor of the idea. "Get some sleep, you're gonna need it."
I woke up early, breakfast here was great, I liked the food. I hustled down the hallway to the café and greeted people as I went. Brothal met me there. I grabbed a milk and a plate. Yes! Pancakes are my favorite. I sat down. Just as I was drinking my milk, "Hey, you ready for our mission?" I did a spit-take. Brothal began laughing his head off. "Thanks for the support buddy." I said rolling my eyes, great, my pancakes were soggy and I was short milk. Plus, people would know me, I have to let Brothal get caught, but not me. They won't beg for secrets, just lock him away. My plan was to tell him to do something, then slip away, tell Pepre I have information that there is a spy around. I just can't get caught.
I got on the bus. Brothal followed behind me. We sat down, he nodded at me. I took out my book, I opened it up and found the hidden tablet inside. It was a book box, you could put things inside. It was about the size of a tablet, and as thick as a textbook. It was "titled" Encyclopedia of Weaponry. The bus breaks down moments later and we quietly slip away. "We have to make camp at 15789 Ceto Court." I begin to run there and I know he follows me there. "I'll go get some food and stuff." I say. "Just make an area were we can sleep in the tall grass." Brothal nods and I walk down the driveway. Easy. This guy, I mean seriously, he can be stupid.
I make it to the meeting I scheduled two minutes before it starts. "Where the heck were you!?!?" Pepre screams. "Chill, I was busy. I'll let you know during the meeting." She raises an eyebrow, but doesn't do anything else. Soon my entire set of personnel is here I begin, "Today is very important, I have information the could change the course of us." The company around me gasps. "I have information that there is a spy for the other side on our territory, at 15787 Ceto Court." I say that only so that they have to search, make it seem more believable. Pepre has wide eyes, so did Rebecca. I never ceased to amaze them somehow. "Let's go, get on your clothes for going out." Just as I was opening the door, "What about the weapons stash?" I rolled my eyes. " this is more important." I continued on.
I had slipped on my black suit and was ready to go. I walked back to the meeting room, and everyone was waiting. "Let's move, we don't know how long they'll be there." We all slipped out of the alleyway one at a time, meeting up at the end of the street. I nodded my head. The pattering of feet was heard as we ran down the currently empty street, I was ready. "Hey, I think I see something." Pepre pointed to the area where I knew Brotal was. I pointed there and everyone followed my instruction. People drew small pistols and walked over. I smirked, he was in trouble. He stood up and his eyes grew wide. The entirety of our elite team was staring him down, pistols in hand. I snapped. Everyone grabbed him, he tried struggling, it won't help buddy.

I sat, watching from one side of one-way glass. "Is there anyone else out there?" The question caught me off guard. What if Brothal said something the other side me? "No, I was sent alone." I had mixed feelings about this response, relief and anger, I wasn't revealed, but he wasn't being honest! I shifted in my seat, my left leg had fallen asleep. "Who do you work for?" 'My mom.' I mentally shouted. "Clare Anyin." That was true, luckily enough, I didn't take her last name. I realized the risks of this "interview" too late. I'm so stupid sometimes. "How high were you ranked?" 'I know this one.' I thought sarcastically. "Head Of Intelligence." Pepre elbowed me and whispered, "He had the same job as you!" I nodded and turned back to the conversation. "Well, you should know a lot. We'll continue this tomorrow. Take him to his cell." Three guards, Andy, Maximus, and Reggie, our heads of security, took him out of the room to his private cell. They opened the door to our room where we were seated. "Can I talk to him?"
I strode down the hallway, my flat businessman shoes clacked against the concrete, I grimaced a bit, thinking about what he's going through. I opened the door to his cell wing. His expression changed from depressed, to annoyed. "What do you want?" He said snottily. I raised my eyebrow. "No need to get defensive kid." He was younger than me. "I'm not a kid, I bet I'm older than you." Being short, ugh. "Is that supposed to be a compliment, I'm 31 and short, but I must look young." I was actually younger, but I knew I couldn't tell him that. "Oh." He said, thinking about it. "I was going to ask you something." I said, gently. "More questions, great." I was done, I'll do this when I have more patience. "Okay, you clearly don't want to be asked, I'll leave then." "Wait," he stuttered. I was already almost gone. "What?" I asked. "I'm allergic to peanuts." I raised an eyebrow again. He shrugged. Weird, why does care about somebody he "doesn't know" knowing his allergies.
"Do you know anything about peanuts?" I asked our Strategy Consultant, also known as resident nerd, and my brother, Caxon. "Me, of course sis, I know everything." He says, smugly, smirking at me. "What about Mom?" I question. "Well, not that but," I interrupt, "Okay just tell me about peanuts scrub." "Well, I love them, they are a nut, and that they are a popular allergen." Wow, that's great. "Why do you need to know anyway?" He snaps me out of my fantasy world. "That weird spy is allergic to them." I say, naturally, I hope. "How do you know?" He presses. "I went to talk to him personally." I act normally, hoping again. "Okay." He says and rushes off when someone calls his name.
I don't have to go to a meeting with the other side's spies since I'm "on a mission", but I do have to listen in on another interrogation tomorrow. I quickly run to my room on the end of the bunker and get changed, brush my teeth, and grab a book from my shelf. I happens to be about enemy spies, more things to bother me, great. I open to a page about lying, but am interrupted by a knock on my door. I open the door, "You hear this, now."
Andy rushes me down the hallway. Caxon is already here. A recording plays, "and I know where the weaponry for secret missions is." I gasp. "We need to get there now, put a tracking device on him, that will explode if he does something we don't want him to." Caxon actually is smart, I just tease him about it. "Good idea, but we need to convince him that he should do it." I state. "What if we don't?" Humph, always getting in my way. "Kill him." Andy says. That's not what I wanted to hear.

I walked down that hall slowly. My eyes began to fill with tears. A person I knew deeply, someone who I've known my whole life. Dead. It can't happen. I need to convince to do something, but I don't know what it is. I slipped into my room. I needed a break. Sleep was a perfect break, an exit from reality, like a refreshing drink. This break, I believe, is well deserved. I snuggled into my flannel pajamas and lay under my gray blankets and sheets. I slowly began to drift into a refreshing and calming slumber.
Dream
I sat in the café, the snow lightly falling outside. In the background, softly, violins hummed a sweet tune. I picked up a warm cookie of my plate and relaxed into my chair. My sweater cozy and soft against my skin. I looked outside. Quite a peaceful day, even though my mind was not at peace. I couldn't put my finger on why though. Something important was happening around me, but it just didn't matter right now. I was happy. Just happy, sitting here, eating a melty white chocolate chip cookie. I smiled a bit, knowing I was carefree for a moment. I picked up the book that was sat in front of me. Then it slowly came back. Brothal, my mission, everything. I didn't want any of it, but that's not important, because I can't change it. Something has to be done!
End of the Dream
I awoke to the sound of a freight train. My clock read 2:34. Much too early for me to be up. That doesn't matter. I slipped on a formal suit and clicked on my flashlight, walked off in the direction of the cell Brothal was in. The soft patter of my feet echoed lightly through the hall. I opened the vault-like door. I heard low snoring. I recognized it of course, only one person was here. I walked toward his cell, but hesitated to wake him. I don't think he deserves this, but I can do nothing but ask for help. "Sir." I shouted, probably too loudly. "What?" He replied, hazily. "Tell me one thing." I said. He nodded. "Would you work for us?" I asked. His eyes widened slightly. I had to try. I could get out of this mess if neither of us returned. Still though, it would be hard to end something like this, with family ties on the other end. My heart would ache. He squeaked out a quiet, "Yes." I stood up, and left.
I had some paperwork to before morning if I wanted him to be on our team. I put my pajamas back on. At least I'll be comfortable if I'm staying up the rest of tonight. I slid my laptop out from under my bed and picked it up. It wasn't the nicest laptop, I had fixed it many times. It still ran fine for what I needed to do, at least, most of the time. I opened up the program I used to write contracts. He needed to sign something in case anything went wrong, we could put him back in that cell. I don't fully trust him knowing he worked for the opposition, but then again, I did too. If I wanted him to join us, a contract is needed, I have a contract, everyone does.
Okay so he just needs to agree to the terms and conditions and sign this. Not too bad, but I'll have to be escorted in there. I wasn't really allowed in there in the first place, considering if he had a hidden weapon I could be killed, even though I know he doesn't. It would worry people, but I wanted to make sure he would say yes to our offer because Alex would kill him immediately if he didn't except. I would not even try if he didn't say yes, just except fate, even with all the sadness, sometimes people can't be saved. He was just lucky to say yes, agree to a better life. Now the real hard part was getting the team to go with this idea. People might not trust him, I need to convince everyone to let him join. I need to save Brothal.

"That's an incredibly stupid idea!" Pepre shouted. "No it's not! We could gain information more easily then!" I shouted back. "No, we just threaten to kill him!" I rolled my eyes. "He already said he doesn't care if he dies." I retorted snottily. "Plus, if he joins us, he can be a double agent." I added. "No way. Being a double agent is forbidden." She replied. I cringed, I was a double agent, before this. I can't be now. I'll just never return, they'll assume I'm dead since Brothal will never return either. "Okay, but what can we do to convince him never to leave?" I wondered out loud. "Family. We could threaten to kill someone he cares about." Pepper decided. She was off to do something immediately.
I raked my fingers through my hair. Brothal listed the daughter of the head of the agency as the person he cared about the most. Fudge! That was me! I was supposed to be dead, or at least, that version of me. What am I going to do? If he finds out that I'm "dead" he might quit and just have himself and me killed. Dang it! Ugh, this is not what I wanted to have happen. I paced around the room, my shoes tapping against the tile. What can I do? Then came a tap on my shoulder.
"I want to thank you." Brothal said quietly. "I would probably be dead without you." I shrugged. "I guess so. You seem like a good guy caught up with the wrong crowd." I said. "Yeah. I never really believed in what they fought for anyway. It was all part of a deal my parents made a long time ago. I got thrust into this mafia turf war that I don't honestly understand." He sighed. "I just wanted to say that," he paused, "there's nothing holding me back from being on your side." He said heavily, I could see tears forming at the corners of his eyes. "My friend, who I kinda had a thing for," he paused again sniffing, I cringed, this was me he was taking about, "died in a bike and car crash." So they actually bought it. Wow, that's a shocker, something actually worked for once. "That's sad, I've lost people too you know, I'm here for you." I smiled weakly, he nodded in return. "I'll see you again soon." And he was gone.
I can't believe it actually worked! I was practically jumping for joy. If I'm finally out of one side, I just need to make sure that no one realizes I ever worked for them.

So yeah this has been going really slow and I need some ideas for what should happen. If you have any just message me and I'll see what I think. I'll give you credit for the idea if you want. Plus I updated the cover, I made it myself and I think it's okay, I made the last one myself too but I found it less fitting for the book then one of the other one I made earlier so I changed it. Thoughts?

Any other time of day and I wouldn't think he was trying to escape, he had to choose night time to run his errands. Stupid Brothal, I was gonna follow him "to the store" even if he said not to. I decided to leave only a few seconds after he did, but that didn't stop me from losing him. I checked the on,y place I would have thought for him to hide, behind the door. "H-hi." He said shakily. "Where are you really going?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. "To m-make m-money." He managed to get out after stuttering for what felt like hours. "How exactly do you plan on doing that?" I questioned him flawlessly. He always left at around five back with the other side but tonight he was leaving later than normal. "I-illegal things." He managed to regain some composure. "I coming with you then, I'm used to illegal stuff anyway." I stated calmly. He laughed, he freaking laughed. "Yeah being a part an underground gang is pretty illegal." He rolled his eyes. "Very funny. Where exactly are you going?" I asked as we started walking. "I sell illegal alcohol." He choked out. I stopped for a moment. I pushed the sadness away and shook my head. I can't let that get to me. "Okay." I said, too casually. "You seem to know something I don't." He thought aloud. "That's probably because I do."
He looked at me funnily. "What is it then?" He asked. "I know everything about you." I said. Even your weaknesses, I thought to myself. "That's impossible. I've never told anyone about my personal life." You've told one person, I thought. "Oh your girlfriend then, you didn't tell her anything?" He gulped. "I don't have a girlfriend." I rolled my eyes. "Then who's that girl we couldn't get our hands on, the one with you when you came to destroy us." He stopped walking. "You don't know anything!" He shouted. "You don't know why I care about her so much! She's not like anyone over there, she doesn't even believe in what they're fighting for, she's forced to by her mom." I turned around. "Look, I don't believe in what they're doing either, but that doesn't mean that I am a good person now does it?" I quietly replied. "You seem like you'd get along with her, if she was alive anyway." I raised an eyebrow. "Well I would. I'm her." I sighed. "We can't tell anyone." He said. "I know. But we'll be together, forever." I hugged him and we walked off.
I added a little extra and somewhat of a crappy ending for you guys. Hope you enjoyed.
