Guess Who's Back Again?

The first thing he saw was a blurry face, half-covered in blue paneling with that beady red eye that made his head spin. He closed his eyes tightly for a moment-- gosh, what a headache he had. Not to mention that his limbs felt like giant pieces of lead, too.

"Is he waking up?"

Yep, that was Cyborg alright. His booming voice didn't have that cocky tone of his within it anymore.

"I dunno, dude. Maybe he'll wake up.. Now!"

That was Beast Boy. What an impatient team he lead.

"I think that we should leave our friend Robin to the time of resting."

Gosh, was her voice beautiful. It was so asterous it made him want to bleed out as soon as possible so that he could caress her cheek with the ghostly hand of his essence.

Woah, where did that come from? Totally not the aster. Sounded more.. creepy-ous to him.

Ooh, new word!

Anyway, Starfire was just beautiful, inside and out. So much that he forced himself to open his eyes-- it was a single-man effort, since it felt like the Titans' hands were all holding his eyelids shut-- and stare into her emerald green eyes with the largest smile he could muster.

He was tired.. So, so tired..

"Robin!" A cheerful squeal and he was enveloped in such a tight hug that it hurt. His bones groaned in simply protest, such a groan escaping from his lips until he was suddenly dropped back onto the hospital bed with a creak of the old springs and a small thump. "Sorry!" cried Starfire, eyes wide as she covered her mouth with a sort-of-delicate hand.

Robin only shook his head, pushing himself upright so that he could flicker his gaze to each and every one of the Titans. They looked worried, even Raven, with their faces creased and the evidential lines of a deep frown near their lips.

They also seemed relieved too, but when he tried to shimmy himself out from the bed a large hand pushed him back in again with a snort of amusement. Damned Cyborg. Guess he'd just have to break out then.

"So, guys.." he breathed, drumming his fingers against the side of the bed in anticipation of what he was about to do. Starfire squeaked once more in surprise, before swirling around the room in excitement. "You really are awake my friend!" she cheered, landing gracefully next to the bed again. Robin had to stifle a groan.

Couldn't they just leave him alone?

"Yeah, dude," a green cat popped up in his lap, staring at him with large black eyes, "we thought you were a goner." Wow, how long has he been asleep?

"You've been out for three days," Raven murmured, almost as if she had been reading his mind as she walked forward with light footsteps. God, was that a long time? He'd been out for weeks once. But it wasn't really like him, either, so maybe they did have a reason to worry..

Nah.

It had been two hours ever since he had first woken up, and the Titans hadn't left his side for a second. It was time to kick in the plan.

"So then I--" with a well-practiced groan and a flutter of his eyelids, he sank back into the bed in expert stillness.

He could hear the flustered sounds of the Titans as they scurried around the room like rats. Probably trying to find an IV.

...

And he wasn't wrong, since moments later there was a prick in his arm and he felt something weighing down his wrist.

And then.. There was silence. Complete silence.

Who knew quiet could feel so good?
