The next day, after fixing up Proto Zenon, they headed for Cyber Lance. Having been contacted by Jin about their arrival, Saibara was at the lobby, ready to greet them. He led the way up to the R&D room once again.

"The gathering of highly skilled LBX players, Akihabara Kingdom." Saibara stated. "It was just the right place to obtain battle data for Proto Zenon."

"Yeah. I gained a lot of experience. When will Zenon be complete?" Jin asked. "There's still some adjustment that can be done on the actuator output, CPU response speed and balancer precision." The man's eyes widened at his knowledge. "I'll need Zenon soon..."

"It'll come in time." Saibara replied. "We'll prove to you the superiority that is Cyber Lance's technology."

"Well, that's pretty big." Evangeline commented as red took over most of her tablet's screen.

Despite the difference in size, Jin was confident. He patched a line to Ban and the others. "Leave this to us."

"Jin! Eva!"

The doors of the elevator opened to reveal the two to the three LBXs.

Jin turned to Odin. "We'll fight too."

"Jin, it's a tank!" Ban said worriedly.

"This newly completed Zenon can do it." He showed them the new LBX he had on his shoulder. "Using Proto Zenon's battle data, Cyber Lance created this new generation LBX. And this Zenon is made with the ultimate specs, just for me. This will be able to handle it."

"And I'll shut it down from the inside." Evangeline added.

The two walked into the tunnel, only to find Gouda in there too. "I thought I was the only one crazy enough to come out here in the flesh."

"Let Jin and Eva take care of this." Takuya's voice came in. "Ban, you guys head to the level 4 research lab."

"Ban, let's go." Ami said. "We have to protect the Eternal Cycler."

"Yeah, let's go." Kazuya urged.

But Ban shook his head. "No, I'll stay. I'll stop that tank with Jin. If we can't stop that, it'll destroy the building. And then we won't be able to protect the Eternal Cycler!" Odin jumped on to Jin's elbow. "Jin, I'm joining in." He and Evangeline exchanged glances and nodded.

"It's yours!" Gouda took hold of Fenrir and Pandora and went up the elevator.

They headed for the edge of the platform. From there, they could clearly see the tank that is rapidly approaching them.

"How do we fight it?" Ban asked.

"We just have to immobilize it." Jin replied. "Let's go, Zenon!"

"Attack Function, Break Gazer."

The attack dented its wheels, creating a cloud of dust around the large machine.

"It's so powerful!" Ban complimented, clearly impressed.

"Evangeline, follow after us." He received a nod before turning to the brunette. "Now's our chance, Ban!"

"Yeah!"

Zenon and Odin hopped on to the tank, Dreamer flying right behind them. Those from Hacker Corps followed his lead and attack the tank's surroundings, not letting the smoke screen dissipate. They expected the machine to stop attacking entirely, but instead, it began to fire in random directions.

Ban' eyes widened at the destruction it was causing, but Jin snapped him out of it, telling him to focus. Turrets appeared behind them soon after, but they managed to destroy them. They kept jumping until they reached the top of the tank.

"Here it is." Zenon was standing on top of a panel, right behind the machine's scanner.

Dreamer landed beside it and it went down on one knee. When its hand touches the panel, its eyes glowed and so did hers. "I'm in."

"Hack the system to shut down." Jin ordered. "We'll buy you as much time as you need." She nodded.

LBXs appeared around them, all aiming for Dreamer. Zenon and Odin both had their backs on each other, destroying whoever comes near.

"Unlocked, Protection on the Firearm control system. Unlocked, Protection on the Target Identification system. Unlocked, Protection on the Auto Balancer."

Ban and Jin activated their finishing functions, destroying the enemies completely.

"Is that all of them?" Just as the brunette asked, the vehicle began to move. His eyes widened in fear as the tank rapidly approached his two friends. "Jin! Eva! Watch out!"

"Shutting down..."

"It's done." Jin looked up just as the tank stopped, its cannon mere inches from his face.

Ban sighed in relief. "We did it, Jin! Great job, Eva!"

Evangeline's eyes stopped glowing and she let out her own sigh. "Yeah..." She rubbed her temples. "That's going to take a while to get used to..."

"Eh? Eva, are you alright?" The brunette asked, worry clear in his tone.

She nodded. "I'm okay... Just a little dizzy... I'll rest once we get back to the lobby."

Calling back their LBXs, Jin took Odin with him and helped Evangeline to the elevator. They got to the lobby first and she sat on one of the couches, trying to relax herself.

"Jin!" Ban called for him as he ran down the stairs.

The black and white haired boy smiled and held up Odin. "Ban, your LBX."

"Thanks!" He looked over at Eva, whose eyes are closed. "Is she really going to be okay?"

"She'll be fine after some tea and sweets." He replied. "This isn't the first time she had to do something like that... though the previous times, she had the help of the scientists..."

"You're grandfather told us about that back when we infiltrated. The Optima prototype and AI in her head is what's keeping her alive, right? Are they what gave her the ability to enter computers like that?"

A nod. "Yes. But she's still human, just like the rest of us. Now that I know those projects are continuous, I won't let her be treated as an experiment any longer."

"Jin..."

Ban seemed like he wanted to say more, but was cut off by a shout from outside. They turned to find a familiar man calling for someone below him.

Ban blinked. "It's Yuusuke-san."

"Did something happen?" Jin cast one last glance to the blonde girl resting and around the room, making sure she was safe, before heading out with Ban.

The last thing they expected was for a gun to be aimed at the company president.

"Stop this, Kirishima-san. You're not the type of person to do something like this." He tried to reason.

"B-Be quiet!" The other man, Kirishima, yelled back. "All because of you, I..." His hand faltered for a fraction before it took aim again. "Don't come closer!"

He began to move back, carefully as to make sure he could get away cleanly. But before he could run, another person took the black case he was holding before running across the street. Kirishima tried to run after, but he froze when he realized the truck coming at him. Yuusuke acted fast and pushed him out of the way, saving him with his own life to pay.
