The Truth
After Crystal became an alpha and Chase was defeated, the world seemed to brighten, the birds seemed to sing, and the chipmunks seemed to be playing peacefully up in the trees. But something began troubling the four best friends, how distant Neros seemed to put himself from the rest.
A week later as the sun progressingly rose, Soren was the first to awaken and he stretched his legs in the cold cave. The cave was dripping from the cieling because it rained all last night. Soren slowly walked to the river and sat on a rock that loomed over the rushing water. He peered into the river and saw his face reflected on the water. Soren saw a sad face and even when he tried to smile a frown still silently rippled in the reflection. Soren sighed in defeat. What's wrong with me? Wait, maybe it isn't me that's sad, but then who? Soren thought.
Soren caught five fish and carried them back to the cave. When Soren appeared at the clearing, Kin was awake and chewing on some bamboo and Jenny hung upside down while munching on a banana. Soren dropped the fish and seperated three of them for Soren, then he slowly ate the two of his fish.
There was a snap of a twig, all heads turned toward the source of the sound. There, slowly appearing from the shadows was Crystal, her eyes twinkling light blue as the glimmer of the sun's ray made her white coat fur glow. From the last time the four friends had laid eyes on her, she was much smaller and her coat much shorter, but now standing in front of the cave she looked stronger, healthier, and confident. Jenny jumped off of the branch that she hung from and landed at the feet of Crystal. "What brings you here?" Jenny asked with a smile.
Crystal bowed her head so that she could make eye contct with Jenny. "I'm in need of Neros. Is there anyway I can speak with him?" Crystal asked.
Soren immediately stood from the ground and nodded, "As you wish." Soren quickly scurried into the cave.
There was a loud growl and a hiss then silence. Neros emerged from the cave looking pissed off, as his gaze rose and his eyes found Crystal's he seemed to calm. The wind started to pick up and Crystal took a step forward. "Crystal, why have you came?" Neros asked, walking cautiously toward his fish.
"I really need to talk to all of you," Crystal proclaimed, "It's something your friends should be aware of." Crystal glared at Neros who growled in return.
"What is it?" Soren urged.
Crystal diverted her eyes from Neros and looked up to the sky, her white fur wiped around her from the wind. She looked back toward Neros and locked eyes. The red eyes and blue eyes glowed and they both appeared to be purple. "Me and Neros have mated and I have come to claim my mate," Crystal announced.
Kin quickly rose and scurried toward Crystal with a menacing face. "You can't just expect to come her and take away Neros. He is our friend and the one who protects us," Kin squeaked out.
Neros gently pushed Kin away from Crystal and sighed. Kin and Crystal were now having a staring match with growls and everything. Neros cleared his throat breaking the tension. He came close to Crystal and snuggled into her neck. "I won't leave my friends alone. Not even for my mate. If you want me you must know that I come with my friends, so what will it be?" Neros persisted.
Crystal sighed and smiled, showing her gleaming, white, sharp teeth. "If you say so my love. Your friends can join the pack if you wish. Just please be with me, by my side," she decided.
It was settled. The four friends were joining Crysal's wolf pack. Kin, Jenny, and Soren finally were aware why Neros had seemed so distant, it was because he missed his mate and they knew now he was going to be happy.
