The Very, Very Loose Guidelines For Submissions
Alright, if you want to take a shot at publishing in the SPOT Lit Mag, here is what you need to know.
(Guidelines are first, then Submission Rules. The Place to Submit is on the next chapter)

Very, Very Loose Guidelines
(More details are under "Submit" at spotlitmag.com)
• If your work has already been published in the SPOT Lit, please do not submit that work again. You may submit different works that have not been published on the SPOT Lit.
• I will accept previously published and forthcoming works as long as those literary magazines will not chase me with fire and pitchforks, demanding me to take the works down. There is something called First North American Serial Rights (FNASR) and specific demands to keep your work exclusive. If any of these instances apply to your work, please don't shove me into the fire. We're just here to have fun and form a little community. I don't know how or want to handle fire and pitchforks.
• You don't have to follow this account. In fact, don't follow this account. It will make me cry. Go follow my other account BTSXPRESS if you really want to. This account is just my alt. People following this will make me shed blood tears of sorrow.
• You can only enter your own works.
• Your work has to be in English unless you want me to run it through Google Translate, which I don't mind doing. Also, your work cannot be a translated version of another story you didn't write. If you get permission to translate and publish, that is different.
• I don't care how many works you submit. You can submit anywhere between zero and infinity.
• If you are sending multiple submissions, fill out multiple forms.
• There is no word count. I don't care if the piece you submit has 1 word or 50,000 words (please don't submit 50,000 words to torture me, though). I will take any length.
• I do take fanfiction, but there is a caveat to that. I will only take fanfictions from certain fandoms. If you have fanfictions for Harry Potter, manga, or other intellectual property, I cannot publish it. I seriously can't legally publish them.
• I do prefer original works, though.
• You can submit poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, screenplays, etc... Basically, you can submit anything that has word on it.
• Please refrain from submitting works with explicit sexual content. Also, if your story romanticizes rape, kidnap, violent behavior, incest, abuse, etc... there is a high chance I will not accept it (Romanization means that the character who is kidnapped falls in love with their kidnaper. Or the victim falls in love with their rapist. Don't be like Hajime Isayama. Don't romanticize these themes.)
• Please try to make your work as polished as possible. I will personally edit your work after deciding whether to publish it and communicate with you through email, Wattpad DMs, or whatever you find comfortable. If your story uses Y/N characters, does not have proper grammar, and has many mistakes in general, I will most likely not accept it.
• Lastly, I am here to work with you. In the past, I know that has not been the case. I have grown up, and I have learned my lessons. I am not here to tear your work apart or ruin your self-esteem. And if I do do that, hit me back. Yell at me. Call me out on my bullshit. My goal here is to help you and learn how to better myself, as well. This is a mutual effort.

Submission Rules Pt. 1
• Your work does not have to be on Wattpad.
1. If your work is not on Wattpad, you can send it as a .doc or .docx file through email to [email protected].
2. If your work is on Wattpad and is a long novel, you can submit the entire story (please don't do this) or any chapter. I will also consider serialized publishing if anyone wants that.
3. If your story is a short story on Wattpad, you can submit the entire thing.
• If you ever want me to take down your work from the SPOT Lit, contact me, and I will take it down. Many places want First North American Serial Rights (FNASR) and exclusivity. I understand, and if you need me to take down your work, I will.
• When you submit your works, I need your name or alias and a short bio written in the third person (under 100 words). You don't have to give me your real name, but please don't give me a... username. For example, don't send me "mr_robotdik." I do want to maintain a level of professionalism. As for the short bio written in the third person, it doesn't have to be complex or long.
Bio Example: John Doe is a writer. He likes pizza. He is tired. This piece was the best thing he ever wrote, and if you think otherwise, screw you, editor.
• Please tell me if your work falls under fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, screenplay, another genre, or a hybrid genre (although your work will most likely fall under one of those mentioned four).
• If your works get published, all rights will belong to you. If you want me to take the work down, as mentioned above, I will.
• Here is where I go on a long tangent explaining what I am looking for and how to get your work accepted. You can skip it if you want to, but I recommend reading this part if you haven't read it in the "For Anyone Interested" chapter.
There is only one condition to be published in the SPOT Lit: make me feel something after reading your work. That feeling can be anger, hatred, love, annoyance, disgust, happiness— I don't care. Make me feel something.
You probably read this quote in the description, but I'll put it here again anyway:
"All writing is a lie, but what you feel while reading... Now that's the truth. It's wonderful—how many truths writers can create from simple lies."
That is my motto. If you can create a truth for me, if you can make me feel anything after reading your work, you're in.
That doesn't mean I will accept every work. There will be some I reject, but remember, I am one person on the internet. Publishing is subjective. It is, was, and always will be subjective. The same goes for me. I am subjective, and my opinions are just that. Opinions. I am just a random person on the internet at the end of the day. Don't let my opinions make you feel bad. And if they do, send a "screw you" to me. It won't offend me. It truly won't. But if it makes you feel better, go for it.

Submission Rules Pt. 2
• You can submit your work as a comment through Wattpad or through email as a .doc or .docx file at [email protected].
• If you submit your work through email, please include your name, bio, the title of your work, and the genre of your work. I would also prefer you read the "Submission Guidelines" at spotlitmag.com.
• If you submit your work as a comment through Wattpad, this is what you have to do:
NAME:
BIO:
TITLE:
GENRE:
CHAPTER OF BOOK (if applicable):
• Or, you can share a Google Doc of the story you want to publish in the SPOT Lit with [email protected] (please provide an accessible link in the comments).
• I will contact you through email or DMs (depending on how you contacted me) to inform you whether you have been accepted. Expect a response in at least a few weeks and at most a few months.
• If you are accepted, I will edit your work, let you look over my edits/suggestions, and once you are satisfied, I will publish your work on the SPOT Lit. More details of the process will follow if you are accepted.
• This is the first time I have ever done this through Wattpad, so this may be a little funky. But I hope I can solve problems as I go.
