"She's crying, what do I do?"

Reese P.o.v

A Brief Recap from her point of view:

Waking up on a stranger's lap was not what I expected after everything had went dark. The person I woke up on had green hair, a splash of freckles, and gorgeous amber eyes. To say the least, she was drop dead gorgeous. Then, I later learned her name was Fé Določen. We had began to draw on the walls, until Alec and Julian finally came around. The four of us then proceeded with introductions, and what not. Fé then made her exit, and headed to what I had presumed was the kitchen. Later, she returned with what appeared to be a Blue Hawaii. After an exchange of how we were underaged drinking, Alec then walked into the kitchen, to return with his signature plum-garita. One for him, one for me. It tasted delicious, with the salt on the rim, held on by lemon juice. It had a nice twang of tequila, mixed with the sweetness of the plum. We continued to drink, until I had to soon remove all of the alcohol from the room, because Alec had filled his small alcohol capacity. In other words he was drunk. When I returned to the room, I decided I was tired of the silence that had now befallen the room. To put a stop to the silence, I turned on Pandora on my phone, playing the "Brunch Café" radio I had that played classical music, mixed with romantic French and Spanish songs. I was soon startled when someone asked me to dance, the voice belonging only to Fé. Not surpassing my chance, I said yes. To say the least, it was amazing even if she kept stepping on my feet. After a couple of minutes, a Spanish song started to play, when Fé asked what besame meant. I translated it to meaning "kiss me". Upon hearing this, she did exactly that. She kissed me. And it was even better than just dancing with her. Then, together we went through the photos and videos that Julian had taken. He was actually not to bad at photography as it turned out.

Current time:

For unknown reasons, I was still tired. Still on the couch with Fé, I slipped into unconsciousness. Unfortunately for me, I just had to have a dream. See, the past couple nights I had been seeing only battle scenes from ancient times. To be more specific, of Ancient Rome. I saw scenes depicted in no movie ever, of emperor Marcus Aurelius on the war campaign in which he died. Over, and over again, I saw the same scene, except it terrified me as much as the first time I had saw it. Each time causing me to awake in a cold sweat, a violent jerk, screaming, or crying. Of course, I knew I was a descendant of Marcus Aurelius, but I still had not the slightest clue as to why I kept seeing this, or why at the end of each scene, Marcus would look over to where I appeared to be standing, and say, "Have you found it yet?" Blood splattering his face, and a pool of blood covering his armor, where he was stabbed. But tonight, I saw something different. He dropped what appeared to be a booklet. I couldn't see anything real specific about it, just that it was leather, with something like a picture or something on the cover. After this scene, for once I was shifted to another. This scene depicted another emperor, one I presumed to be Commodus, Marcus's son. He was reading the booklet I had seen Marcus drop-probably brought to him by a Centurion. He has clearly enraged, which resulted in him then throwing the booklet across the room. It seemed there was then a time lapse, to the night he died. Blood spattered his beard and clothes, from the poison his wife had inflicted him with. He kept on mumbling something to himself, when a wrestler Narcissus comes into the scene. I see Narcissus then strangle Commodus. That being the end on my horrid dream. I awoke with a jolt, and a mix of screaming and crying. Fé was no longer with me, in fact I had no idea where anyone was, or even where I was for that matter. Maybe two minutes of screaming/crying later, Julian walked in, unaware of what was happening. He quickly rushed over to me, asking what had happened. Unable to speak or calm myself down, I just shook my head. He then rushed out of the room, and I heard bits and pieces of what he was saying to the others.

"She's crying, what do I do?" He frantically asked.

"Do you know why she's crying?" Alec asked.

After about five minutes of hearing them exchange words, unable to comprehend what they were saying, I finally deciphered something Fé had said,

"I'll handle it, I just need a glass of water, and a blanket maybe," is what she had said.

A second later, she walked into the room, slowly approaching the emotional mess which sat on the  couch, — me; a glass of ice water in her hand. She sat on the couch with me, and curled her arm around me, pulling me closer to her. Gently handing me the glass, she said,

"Drink,"

So, I did. I slowly drank some of the water, stopping to take a breather. Managing to calm myself down, I began to speak.

"I want it to stop." I said quietly.

"What? What do you want to stop?" She said, choosing her words carefully.

I began to explain what had been happening every night, trying to be as non confusing as possible. After hearing it all, she hugged me closer, softly kissing my neck, which made my heart flutter.

"I understand perfectly." She said, seriousness in her voice.

"How?" I asked, confused.

Even explaining simple everyday things, people got confused. So how could she possibly understand something so far out, that most people would think was a lie?

"I've seen stuff similar to what you just described." She said softly, her voice starting to break. "I saw scenes of Domitian...I saw him assassinated." She finished, tears rimming  her eyes. Then, it was my turn to hug her, so I did. Thankfully, she did not break down completely. She just let a few tears escape her eyes, and shook with mostly silent sobs. Eventually, we both stopped crying, and just curled up against each other in silence. That was of course before I thought I should show her something. From underneath me shirt, I pulled a golden denarius necklace, with my man, Marcus Aurelius stamped on it.
"This is my family symbol." I said pointing to the illustration on the coin. "The family motto is Carpe Diem."
She examined the coin, then pulled one of her own out of her hoodie pocket.

"This is mine." She said gesturing to her denarius with Domitian on it.
I had never been a fan of Domitian, but for Fé, I was willing to make an exception. My grandmother had always told me there was our family had bad blood with the Domitian's, and to stay away from them. However, right now I had decided to ignore that rule, because it sounded like more of a guideline. Also, I really liked Fé, to the point of loving her. Alec decided to walk in, and when he saw us, he smiled.

"1. You two look adorable." He told us. "2. Any of you want coffee?" he finished asking.

"Yeah," Fé and I both said in unison.

"Great. How many cups each?"

Fé and I then both exchanged glances, and shrugged.

"Maybe two for me." I said, looking at Fé in question after.

"Ditto" was all she could come up with.

Alec then made his exit, presumably going to fix coffee. I then looked over at Fé, who had a look of concentration spread across her face.

"What is it?" I ask.

"I'm thinking that maybe I concentrate hard enough, I can make my notebook appear. Seeing as literally everything else is weird here, it's at least worth a try." She said, still straining her facial muscles.

"And to think I fell in love with you." I soon said when she gave up, having nothing appeared.

"You love me?" She asked, surprised. "How could anyone ever love me?"

I looked at her, in stunned silence of what she had asked. I examined her over as if it were the first time. I saw a light skinned girl with a somewhat boyish hair cut dyed green, warm amber eyes, a splash of freckles, and pink lips. I then moved on from her face, to the rest of her features. She had a similar build to mine, sitting she looked my height, a well worn loose fitting hoodie, jeans, and old shoes. This was the girl I loved every bit of-how could anyone not love her?

"Who wouldn't love you?" I asked.

"My parents, relatives, and people at school who make fun of me, calling me gay, transgender, or just a boy." She said.

"No. They're wrong. Every single one of them is wrong. You are perfect, beautiful, and you belong. Anyone would be crazy to not love you." I told her, meaning every word, knowing and believing they were true.

"Thanks for the reassurance."

"No problem. Now, the real question: how do you drink your coffee?"

"Mmmmm. Let's mix it up a little bit. I'll take it as you take yours." She said, a slight smile threatening to cross her face.

"I can do that." I told her.
