33 | An Unexpected Heartbreak

((Imma just leave this here so y'all don't hate me later))

You groggily opened your eyes and blinked, seeing the rays of late sunlight leaking through the curtains of the window. Sans' arms were wrapped around you from behind with your body pressed against his chest, soft breaths from behind brushing against your neck.

You smiled and pulled the covers closer around you, turning to face Sans and wrapping your arms around his skeletal body. "mornin' hun," you heard Sans' deep voice say, the nickname making you snicker. "G'morning." Your replied, not opening your eyes and hoping he wouldn't move so that you could stay like this.

As if he had read your thoughts, he sank deeper into the covers and pulled you closer against him. You let out a contented sigh and tried drifting off to sleep again when you felt something strange. You opened your eyes to be met with Sans' gaze who had been staring at you with love in his white pin-pricks. When he saw that you had noticed him staring, his face turned a small shade of blue. "Stalker." You snickered, looking down and seeing why you had felt so strange.

A small "oh" was the only thing you could get out as your face heated up several shades of red at seeing that you weren't wearing any clothes. Sans let out a laugh causing you to look back up at him. You gave him a sheepish smile and pulled the covers closer around you, feeling self conscious about your exposed body.

"what's wrong?" Sans asked, his hand starting to trace your spine making you shudder in pleasure. "i think you look beautiful." You scrunched your nose and smiled. "Oh you," you replied bashfully, pecking him where his nose should be. He chuckled and kissed your forehead, causing that same fluttery feeling to start inside you. Surely anyone who could make you this flustered was meant to keep.

Sans sat up and you noticed he had his shirt on. You swore it was gone last nigh-- stop. You hid your blushing face in the covers while Sans stood up and watched you get all flustered with an amused grin. "so, want any coffee?" Sans asked casually. You could hear his smile in his words, if that's even possible. "Yeah, thanks," you replied, still hiding under the covers.

You waited for the sound of the door shutting before you climbed out of bed and quickly put on some clothes, falling over with a loud thud as you struggled to hop on one foot while putting on a sock. Sans poked his head into the room to see you on the ground trying to wrestle the sock on your foot. You were unaware of his presence as he tried not to laugh as you gave up and chucked the sock across the room.

"and that's why i love you the most," you heard Sans say from behind you with a laugh, a surprised sound escaping your lips as you tried to quickly turn around to face him only to almost fall. Sans laughed as you stood up and gave him a playful glare. "Thanks for helping me up." Sans winked at you and disappeared back into the living room. "your welcome!" He called, rolling your eyes with a grin on your face as you walked into the living room.

You plopped down onto the couch and laid on your stomach while looking out the window. The sun was high in the sky with the clouds a dark color that looked to bring rain soon. You smiled and looked over at the clock, seeing that you and Sans had slept in all the way to 11.

"Huh, we slept in late," you said, curling up on the couch. "perfect, that means we won't have to do anything all day except for later tonight at the competition." Sans said, plopping down in the couch next to you with an outstretched arm holding a cup of coffee. You accepted the coffee and gave him a confused look. "We get the whole day off? How do you know that?" Sans held up his phone. "undyne just sent me a text saying that everyone was up at some spaghetti museum or something. they were going to spend the whole day exploring the city then join frisk in the audience tonight at the auditorium."

You nodded and took a sip of your coffee. "Okay, I think I'm gonna go return the library books I checked out a few days ago since it'll be our last day here." "okay." You stood up and picked up your books, about to head out the door when someone knocked on it. You opened the door to reveal Chara who looked surprised to see you.

You smiled at her, a bit shocked when she smiled back. "Uh, hey Chara. What brings you by?" She smiled and pointed inside the hotel suite. "I need to tell Sans something about the competition tonight, the producer came by our suite and told us to tell him before hurrying off to get back to the auditorium." You nodded and opened the door wider to let her pass. "Okay, we'll see you later tonight!"

You closed the door behind you and set off towards the library to return your books.

"I'm back!" You called, walking through the hotel door and closing it behind you. You saw Sans sitting on the couch practicing his magic a bit. "Watcha doin'?" You asked, plopping down on the couch next to him while watching shaky and out-of-practice bones appear. That's strange, he usually has no problem summoning bones. "oh, uh, just ya' know, doing magic." He responded, speaking as if his voice sounded strange to him.

"Cool, when did Chara leave?" He tensed up a bit and looked over at you, quickly replacing his nervous attitude with a smile that you felt uncomfortable with. "a few minutes after you left," he said, making the bones in front of him disappear. You nodded and rested your head on his shoulder. You felt him tense up.

Sans relaxed and put an arm around you, leaning back into the couch while staring off into space. You looked out the window and saw that it was starting to rain, the soft pitter patter of the drops of water hitting the glass. A comfortable silence settled around the both of you until you heard Sans chuckle. You looked up at him and saw that his smile didn't seem to belong to him. It looked . . . evil.

"oh, y/n," Sans said, standing up and facing you, a confused look on your face. "you're really gullible, you know that?" What? What was he talking about? "Um, okay," you said, not quite sure where this was going. You weren't prepared for what came out of his mouth next. "you really think everything that's happened between us was real?"

You stared at him, shocked, trying to form words that refused to come. Sans chuckled and stuffed his hands into his hoodie pockets, looking outside at the rain. "it's funny, really, how much you actually thought i loved you."

You stood up and stared at him, feeling a mix of emotions starting to eat you away. "Excuse me? Sans, what are you--" "look, you must be really stupid if you believed everything that's happened between us was real, although I can't blame you, all the others were the same." "The others? Sans, what are you talking about?" You knew what he was talking about, you just hoped it wasn't true. "i'm talking about how i never loved you, got that?" He chuckled and turned towards the window, a smile on his face.

His words felt like knives that were being stabbed into your body. How could he say something like that to your face?

You tried to control your tears but you couldn't help it, you've always been easily hurt by words. "How-- how could you! If this is some sort of prank it's not funny!" You yelled, backing away from him. You spotted the keys to the silver motorbike that Sans had rented a few days ago and grabbed them, clenching them in your fist as you glared at Sans. "oh, it's not a prank, i was just waiting to tell you all this when you had no doubts in your mind that i didn't love you," he laughed. "your expression is priceless! you really think anyone could ever love you? i mean, your own parents were killed becau--" "SHUT THE HELL UP!" You screamed, tears freely flowing down your face.

You turned and ran out the door, but not before seeing a dark red rimming around his white pin-pricks.

You drove blindly through the city, not caring what speed you were going or where you were going. You tried to see through the rain and your tears, the cold water soaking your clothes and making the motorbike slick.

A choked sob escaped your mouth but you quickly pressed your lips together to try and stay strong. You were filled with hurt, betrayal, and rage. How could he do that to you? Did last night not mean anything to him?

You were too blinded by your emotions to put the pieces together and try to think logically. You just wanted to cry and get all the negative emotions out. You just wanted to drive away from the hotel and get as far away from him as you could.

Your eyes widened as you jerked the bike to the side to avoid hitting a dog in the middle of the street. The slick road made the bike swerve out of your control and run straight into an alley where it slammed into a brick wall. You fell off the bike and hit the ground, a warm liquid starting to spread across your chest. Unbearable pain blossomed across your torso and your eyes were wide in fear. A sound of agony escaped your lips as a dark red substance started soaking your clothes.

You tried to move but the bike was crushing your legs, the heavy chunk of metal preventing you from getting away to find help. The rain started washing the blood that was flowing from your chest down the street and into the road. You tried calling for help.

But nobody came.

You squeezed your eyes shut and let tears run down your face, emotional and physical pain making you break down. You clenched your fists and trod crawling away, but it only made a cry if agony to escape your lips at the movement.

Your head snapped up when you heard running footsteps getting closer, hope starting to form. That is, until you saw who it was staring at you with a cruel smile from the end of the alley.

None other than Prick Two.

"Hello, Y/N," Asriel cooed, starting to walk towards you. You tried reaching for him, desperate for anyone to get you help. He just chuckled and kicked your hand away, crouching down in front of you. "Crashing into an alley wasn't part of the plan, but Chara won't have any trouble controlling a damaged body," he said, a malicious grin spreading across his face.

Your eyes widened in realization. He was talking about Chara possessing you.

You tried squirming out of underneath the bike to get away but all the blood loss was starting to take effect in your mind. You couldn't think straight and your movements were sluggish, a fresh panic starting to set in.

Asriel simply chuckled and stood up, pushing the bike off you just as your eyes started to close. You fought to stay awake and shakily stood up, gasping from the pain but starting to run anyways. You felt a kick to your legs and you fell, a cry escaping your lips as your head hit the concrete and the world turned black.

((SORRY NOT SORRY))
