The most common places people are abducted from are the following:

Park

Sports matches

Your abductor won't care if you are in public, if they want to truly take you they will.

If you feel like you are being followed in any of these locations, these are a few ways to make the situation slightly safer:

1. One of the most common ways to avoid public abduction while alone is pull out your phone and pretend you are talking to someone, to show that the abductor has less of a chance to get away with the crime. This has slowly lost its effect on predators. 

2. Walk up to a female, slightly older than you. Pretend that you are friends that ran into each other. Don't freak them out though, or it will be obvious to the predator. When you first walk up to the woman, say in a low soft voice that you are being followed and that you need help. Women are significantly less likely to reject you in a situation of crisis, considering women are targeted more.

3. If you are absolutely sure that you are in danger, there is a chance that even if they don't get you they will try again. The best way to save yourself, and others in the future, is by gaining the attention of a person of authority. Tell them who is following you. If you are in a store, get a worker. If you are in a public open space in a large city, there is always a police officer on duty. If in a smaller city, they can get away easier so snap a photo and get to the local police station.

4. If being followed while in public and you are at a park or sidewalk, find a large group of people, a group of friends. There is always safety in numbers.

In any of these situations, if possible, always get a picture of the predators face. If doing so will put you in further danger, remember what they look like. Try to memorize their whole physique, this will help authorities find the predator.

Tip: One way to discretely get a video and semi-clear shot of someone following you is by starting a recording on your phone. Keep it recording and put it in your back pocket with the camera facing backward out the top of the pocket. This way the camera will get a video of the  person behind you with minimal provocation.
