Lipogram IV: Glorious Anna (Sonnet XVI)
Sonnet XVI: Glorious Anna (A Lipogram English Sonnet)
2018, Olan L. Smith
Good-looking cousin Anna's mask is calm,
A bard will drop a composition firm,
And tap your rhythmic flairs of loving balm,
A pardon caught and morning light affirm
You loss in hoary drab and darkling moors―
Or hints, of whiffs of old, and shabby grip
Will not so flaunt our blood of holy wars'
Imposing flora, thus his blood did drip.
A howl in dank and hollow aqua groans,
Our bard did find his adoration fast,
Alas, old songs so sung, a navy moans,
Or hints, of whiffs of old our songs our past.
A bard did sing to Anna hymns of old
Your adoration, your tomb, your word was gold?"
