Thirty-Nine || Begin The Final Battle
Media: Gingka Hagane vs Ryuga Kishatu
Every single collision of Gingka' Pegasus and Ryuga's L-Drago, I could feel. It was one of power, one that caused shudders to run it's hands down my back.
"You can see why they're the final two bladers," I murmured, my grip tightening on Kyoya's hand.
Two people who defeated Kyoya... Gingka Hagane... and Ryuga...
Biting my lip, I lowered my gaze from the screen as the sharp sounds of the battle cut through the air, then shifted my attention towards Shaun.
My brother was leaning on the doorframe, his eyes trained on the wall rather then the screen. "... you didn't see the glimpse of the monster we saw in Kyoya's battle, right?"
"Monster?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kyoya's fingers twitch. but as I tilted my head so that I could see his hand more clearly, they didn't move.
"Yeah... it's like Ryuga... lost control for a moment."
I frowned, the action feeling strange on my lips after being kept in one expression for so long. "Lost... control?"
Shaun nodded, his own expression solemn. "Fear flashed over his face for a brief second, fleeting, then the darkness seemed to consume him."
I glanced back at Kyoya, my grip tightening on his hand.
God forbid if he woke now while I was holding his hand...
"But why?"
"You have heard the tale of L-Drago, correct?"
Noises of metal clashing against metal from the screen.
"I... think?"
Shaun sighed, the movement rather noisy as it blew his almost non-existent bangs to the side. "You know, the one about the meteor falling to Earth and crashing in Koma Village?"
"No?"
His next action was almost playful- way too playful for Shaun in my opinion, as my brother was a taciturn guy. Cracking his knuckles, he stared at me with an ocean in his blue-green eyes. "Sit down, kid, it's story-time."
I resisted the urge to burst out into a fit of laughter as Shaun blinked in surprise.
"Oh. You're already sitting. Forget that, then."
I nodded, biting down hard on my lip to restrain myself as I averted my attention back to the screen.
"Anyways," my brother shrugged it off like nothing happened. "Long ago, a meteor hit a village known as Koma Village."
His eyes flashed to the screen. "Where Gingka's from, actually. And Hyoma, from what I've heard."
"Go on," I prompted, leaning on my knuckles.
"And somehow, the dark spirit of L-Drago was formed... blah, blah, blah. A bunch of nonsense about L-Drago taking over people's negative emotions and using it to its' own bidding."
"... That took a quick turn..."
Shaun shrugged. "I've memorized it, but this battle is more important then history... as it's literally history being repeated. Pegasus, Gingka's beyblade, was created to fight against L-Drago.
"Sure, ages ago, Pegasus defeated it and people sealed L-Drago in a mountain in Koma Village, but now that Ryuga's gotten it... it's only destiny that they would f-"
A scream from the screen.
I flinched, the noise only causing memories to rush through my mind- Hikaru, Tsubasa, Kyoya- only to find out that it was Ryuga calling out.
"W-What... the hell is that thing?"
When I thought that Ryuga couldn't get any worse in terms of his appearance, I was wrong.
Oh, so very wrong.
Rather then the seemingly gelled-yet-not-gelled spiked hair, it was both spiked and wavy at the same time. His eyes glowed red instead of the narrowed yellow eyes I had previously saw.
"L-Drago's negative power..." Shaun murmured, but his words were a small background noise in my mind.
My breathing had quickened without me realizing it, blackness streaking across my vision as my chest threatening to collapse on my heart and darkness and fear.
"Tess!"
Pain sparked in my hand, and I could feel something wet on it- as my vision flickered back into focus and I brought my hand away from my mouth, a deep mark was set in my skin from my teeth.
A hand was on my shoulder. Glancing upwards, Shaun's eyes were millimeters away from mine, concern building a wall in his irises.
"Tess? Can you hear me?"
"Y-Yes?"
Holy shit, why is my voice trembling? Stop, stop, stop... I don't want to be afraid anymore...
"You had a panic attack," Shaun coaxed soothly, and I pressed one hand to my heart, the uneven and panicked beat-beat resounding through my chest.
"W-What... why... I don't..."
My voice cut off and I almost jerked backwards at the sight of the stupid screen again.
Stop! Stop acting this way? Why, why, why? Why are you so afraid?
"There's no need to be hard on yourself."
Once again, blackness blanketed my eyes, but this time, it was warm, Shaun's fingertips digging into my cheek, but not in a way it would hurt, but rather comforting.
"I'll tell you when it's over."
I could hear the scrape of something and slowly the noise from the screen died down- either they shut up or Shaun turned out the volume.
It was only then I could feel myself quaking- my limbs were shuddering involuntarily, remembering what my heart and mind didn't want to.
Minutes.
I didn't know how much time had passed when Shaun next spoke.
"Shh... it's almost done."
I bit my lip, the action almost causing me to wince after nothing happening for so long.
In an instant, Shaun's hand was whisked away, and I immediately closed my eyes at the blinding light, raising my hand to block the rays as if I was a vampire.
As I lowered them, all I could see was Pegasus, barely spinning in the middle.
Pegasus had won.
That when I felt someone squeeze my hand.
Eh... Iffy writing lately.
Oh, so you say you want a picture of Ryuga?
Here's the Ryuga that was mentioned in this chapter.
Oh, also, which character did you want to see more of? As, after this ends, it's just some fillers and interactions before the end of the book. So, who do you want to see more of besides Tess' little group of Shaun, Una, Grayson, Kato, and Kimi?
Hyoma? Kenta? Gingka? Madoka?
