Media: Tsubasa Otori (Who gives a crap if I did him already- 'Cause why not?)

"Three!"

My grip tightened on the ripcord launcher as I stared down Hikaru Hasama across from me. "Two," I replied quietly.

"One!" the whole crowd chanted and I pulled. "Let it rip!"

Four beyblades landed in a circle.  Storm Aquario, Hikaru's beyblade, easily circled the arena, my Eagle mimicking it by lazily trailing behind. Kimi's bey- Thermal Orso- smooth and steadyfast, spun in the middle. 

"Who will make the first move?" Blader DJ boomed, thrusting a hand out.

Shaun responded with hitting Orso with his Aries.

"And Shaun Rixen takes the first shot? How will Kimi and Orso counterattack?"

Kimi looked moderately calm, and Orso hadn't budged from its spot in the middle of the stadium. "I won't," she said softly, loud enough for us to hear. 

"Aquario!"

My eyes flashed to Eagle, who was beaten back by an attack by Aquario. "Hikaru, what's your tip?"

"Hole Flat-slash-Sharp."

Just like mine, then?

There was a soft click- barely audible, and Aquario disappeared in a quick blur. Closing my eyes, I heard a brrzzt sound before the noise of clashing metal met my ears. 

"Hey, are you even paying attention? Stupid actions like that will only end in your defeat!" 

"Well, aren't you rude?" I replied wryly. "Eagle!"

My beyblade responded, swooping down on Aquario. Aquario disappeared before my eyes, and  Eagle harmlessly sailed past. The blue bey reappeared in the same spot, still spinning contentedly, seeming to not have a single care in the way.

It probably did, but oh well. 

Hikaru smirked coldly as her arm shot out. Her beyblade responded to the gesture by shooting towards me. 

"You forget this is a team battle."

Her purple-colored eyes fixed on Shaun and widened as his bey seemed to brush it off, wobbling in the slightest. Then she smiled thinly- a frigid, distant smile.

"Poison Aries, huh. Like Hyoma's Aries."

"How observant. Did you figure that out by listening to the introduction at the beginning of our match?" Shaun taunted, crossing his arms across his chest. 

I spared a glance at Kimi, who obediently (what was she, a dog?) waited next to Hikaru, her arms tucked into one another as she watched. 

"Are you just going to stand there?" I call over to her, and she shook herself out of her daze, brown eyes widening as I addressed her.

"U-Um..."

I didn't reply, and instead flicked my hand. Eagle obeyed my unsaid command (well, somewhat) before shooting towards Orso, clashing viciously with it in engaged combat.

"O-Orso!" Kimi cried, and her beyblade retreated. Eagel merely chased after it, but Orso kept out of reach.

Hikaru's eyes flashed. "Kimi, do you want to end this, because this is getting b-"

Aries smacked Aquario into Orso. 

"Okay," my brother said, yawning as he did so. "Tess, ready?"

I grinned at his fake yawn. Hikaru looked agitated at it, while Kimi's expression was the same- small. "Yep, brother dear~!"

"Aries, Ram Horn Hurl!"

"Eagle, Piercing Thunder!"

"Orso, Vicious Warrior..."

"Aquario, Infinite Assault!"

Blader DJ gripped the edge of his box-thingie (yes, very descriptive- I know), peering down at us all. "And all four bladers call out their special moves! It's a battle of power! Who will win?"

Orso's bey spirit rose from it, jaw gaping as it roared. Shaun's Aries tossed its' head before connecting roughly with the bear, claws against horns. Clouds exploded from Eagle as waves crashed against it.

I bit my lip, tasting the metallic blood. Wordlessly, Shaun watched from beside me, and Hikaru and Kimi looked on across from me. 

Aries twisted violently with Orso's buff arm trapped in it. The creature gnashed its' teeth, rearing its head before biting into the ram's neck.

Aries thrashed, then unhooked, dancing back before ramming into Orso's side. 

With that, Orso fell on its side and Aries disappeared along with the bear, revealing a wobbly Aries and Orso (still spinning, sadly) some distance away.

And...Aquario...

As if on cue, multiple Aquario's circled Eagle, rushing in for the kill despite the rumbling clouds of the illusion Eagle had created. 

"Aye, Hikaru, water conducts electricity? Did you miss that part of the unit in school?" I teased brightly, a smile tugging at my lips as I did so. 

The blue-haired girl regarded me icily. "Go, Aquario!" 

"Go, Eagle!"

A roar exploded in my ears and Shaun even winced, clamping his hands over his ears as his blue-green eyes peered down at the stadium. 

Kimi quivered as she waited, and the clouds that Eagle made finally dissipated. 

"Aquario...Aquario has gotten a sleep-out!"

My jaw dropped at the sight of the blue Beyblade lying in the dust, Hikaru just as shocked. My Eagle rolled off to the side a few moments after, sleeping-out itself.

"The win has gone to Shaun and Tess!"

"Go-Good battle," Kimi called nervously, and I tucked my hands in my pockets of my leopard vest. 

"You too," I replied easily, puffing as I blew a strand out of my face that I didn't realize was there until now. 

Hikaru kept silent, hopping down the stadium to retrieve her bey. I did the same, landing beside Aquario. "Here ya go," I said, extending my hand to give her beyblade back to her.

Her eyes flicked to my face before gingerly accepting. "...thanks."

"Welcome," I said back, picking up my own beyblade in process. "Good fight, by the way. Thought I was goner there for a second."

She studied me. "You're different when you battle."

I stopped as she said that, my mind flicking back to what I had said in the room earlier. "I've become more serious."

"Meet again some time?"

I looked up, eying her outstretched hand for a moment before briefly clasping it. "Yeah. You're fun to battle."

"Tess!"

Glancing at Shaun, who was awaiting on the stadium rim, I raised an eyebrow. "What?"

He nodded towards the huge screen. "Take a look at our next opponent."

I did so, and my insides twisted at the two new faces displayed on the screen.

Well, Kato, it seems that we'll have to battle. Great. 

A/N~

I'm sorry if it sucks, I figured I'd finish this chapter I've left unfinished for the past two months. I rushed the ending, too. Shaun was supposed to beat Hikaru.

Does Tess seem like a Mary-Sue? She has and shows more fear in the next book, if I ever get there..
