Six || Disappointment to Humanity

Media: Yu Tendo

Timon Rehn was not happy with us.

"Unbelievable," he hissed, shutting his eyes. I shuffled my feet, exchanged glances with Kato, and locked my hands behind my back. "I send my best officer to go help the worse officer, and they both fail!" His eyes snapped open.

"Hey! I'm not the worse officer around here!" I defended, and when he curled his lip, I shrunk back.

Kato kept quiet this whole time, but it was then when he decided to speak.

"It was I who failed. Rixen got some information."

Glowering in his direction, I shoved my balled-up hands into my vest pocket as Timon answered. "Oh? She didn't show or tell it."

My eyes widened at his words. At the same time, my fist met crumbled paper in my pocket.

"I did," I repeated. "I did get information." I pulled the paper from my vest, smoothing it out on his desk then sliding it towards him.

His brow furrowed as he read the hastily scribbled words on the page. "May I ask how this helps?"

"It's Saki's place. I met her sister." I muttered, but he heard me.

"We already investigated that place. I don't see how this adds any evidence," he pointed out, and I blinked in surprise.

"You haven't seen the letter?"

"What letter?"

My eyebrows rose at those two words. "You don't know? Riyui has a letter left behind from her kidnappers."

Timon snorted. "They're smart," the sarcasm was dripping from his words, and I mentally face-palmed. "When are you going to see it?"

"Tonight, tomorrow, some time this week."

He turned his gaze on Kato, who I almost forgot about. "And you didn't find anything?"

The Hydra user shook his head. "Nothing."

Resisting the urge to hoot in triumph, I crossed my arms over my chest to keep up the cool-headed girl (haha, I'm definitely NOT a cool-headed girl) facade I'm doing.

"Okay, Rixen, that'll help. Did you hear anything from your brother?"

Shaun Rixen was seventeen and also worked for the J.C.I. We were always told we looked alike, but we didn't believe it. Sure, we might have the same brown-blonde hair and the grey-ish eyes (Well, Shaun has a bit of green while mine's more bluish), but otherwise, we looked nothing alike.

In my eyes, anyway.

"Not yet. He's working on something else that he refuses to tell me."

Timon nodded, closing the topic. Then he spun around in his chair, the screen behind him lighting up.

"We have our suspects. There maybe be only four so far, but we're closing in."

Kato did a double-take when he saw the first one.

"Ryuga Kishatu. He's the top blader of Dark Nebula, and his bey is rumored to be the most powerful in the world, Lightning L-Drago."

My eyes narrowed, flicking across the screen to absorb the details. I hadn't seen him battle just yet, but I heard his opponents were crushed in a matter of seconds if he got serious.

Rehn switched the slide to reveal a man with black hair and hexagonal glasses. "Doji. He's in league with Ryuga, and he's boss of Dark Nebula."

"I don't like him..." I murmured.

"Next is Yu Tendo," I let out a startled gasp as a little boy, no older then twelve, appeared. "He's Dark Nebula's second-top blader after Ryuga. He's the one who wished Battle Bladers to start."

There it was. That name again. I've been hearing about it over and over again, but I had no idea what it actually was.

"Mr. Rehn," I started. "There's no way that kid can kidnap someone. He's a little boy, for god's sake!"

He shrugged. "You never know."

"He's quite a powerful blader, actually," Kato said, his green-colored gaze focused on the tiles below his feet. "I've seen him in battle with his Libra."

I huffed, but said nothing more.

"Last but not least..." Timon moved to the final slide, and I slammed my hands down on the table with a quick motion.

"How the hell is he up there?" I demanded, glaring up at the scowling face of Kyoya Tategami.

"He's a former blader of Dark Nebula," Kato replied. I peeked out of the corner of my eye at him, but he remained impassive.

"That little-" I seethed, and Timon raised an eyebrow.

"How do you know him, can I ask?"

"I saw him in the park," I grumbled. "This afternoon, we battled before I found Riyui."

Timon was smiling.

Creepily.

"Wonderful," he drawled. "Sorry, Rixen- I can see the hate in your eyes- but you'll have spend some quality time with him."
