LION LEGACY
3. The Dragon Queen

At Dragonstone, waves were crashing against rocks and washing over the beach of the island. Numerous men were pulling Robb's boat onto the shore while Robb, Ser Edric, and Ser Davos were walking onto the beach towards where Tyrion stood with an unknown women Missandei and numerous Dothraki guards.

"Robb Stark," Tyrion greeted Robb once the man reached him, nodding his head slightly.

"Lord Tyrion," Robb responded, the two men staring at each other for a long moment before they stepped forward and shook each other's hand.

"I believe we last saw each other at Winterfell," Tyrion pointed out to Robb, who simply nodded his head in response.

"You created a saddle for my brother Bran, if I remember correctly," Robb explained, pointing toward the scar across Tyrion's face, "You picked up some scars along the road."

Tyrion nodded his head in agreement, sighing in defeat. "So have you. It's been a long road. But we're both still here," He explained, just before turning to address Ser Davos, "I'm Tyrion Lannister."

"Davos Seaworth," He introduced himself in a calm tone as they shook hands.

"Ah, the Onion Knight," Tyrion realized, "We fought on opposite sides at the Battle of Blackwater Bay."

"Unluckily for me," Ser Davos commented for more reasons than one.

Tyrion took a deep breath, just before turning to look at Ser Edric, the man he heard so much about. "You must be Ser Edric Dayne, the first Sword of the Morning since Ser Arthur Dayne and the Lord Commander of my neice's Queensguard." He explained, earning a small nod from Ser Edric.

"I am, my lord," He replied, making no attempt to shake Tyrion's hand.

Tyrion didn't mention it, though, and instead turned to introduce Missandei to the group. "Missandei is the queen's most trusted advisor."

"Welcome to Dragonstone," She greeted the group, smiling slightly as she bowed her head, "Our queen knows this is a long journey. She appreciates the effort you have made on her behalf. If you wouldn't mind handing over your weapons."

Robb frowned, turning to exchange a look with Ser Davos and Ser Edric. Sighing in defeat, Robb turned to address the rest of the group, nodding his head in encouragment, "Of course," He responded, smiling, despite it being fake.

The Dothraki guard wasted no time moving to take the weapons. Robb and Edric, who were the most hesitant, slowly untied their swords before handing them over. He frowned, turning his head to watch as the Dothraki picked up his boat and began to carry it away from them.

"Please, this way," Missandei encouraged the group, Ser Davos being the first to follow before the rest came soon after.

After briefly speaking with Missandei, Ser Davos slowed his pace in order to speak with Robb and Edric. "This place has changed," He whispered to them in a hushed tone.

Robb scoffed loudly, "You think?" He retorted, causing Edric to sigh in defeat.

Several moments later, the group made their way up to the castle along a narrow stone pathway built into the cliffs. After a moment of silence, Tyrion wasted no time beginning to speak to Robb. "And Annalys, I hear she's alive and well." He spoke up, earning a small nod from Robb.

"She is," He confirmed in a calm tone.

"Does my favorite niece miss me terribly?" Tyrion questioned, causing Robb to turn to look at him as he said nothing in response, "I assume she doesn't, after what I've done."

"She won a trial by combat for you and you repaid her by becoming Hand of the Queen to her greatest enemy." Robb explained to Tyrion, trying his hardest not to snap at him.

"I didn't mean for it to happen like that," Tyrion whispered to Robb softly, looking as though he actually felt guilty for what he had done.

"Aye, but it did," Robb retorted with an attitude, "Tell me, how did a Lannister become Hand of the Queen to a Targaryen Queen?"

"A long and blood tale. To be honest, I was drunk for most of it." Tyrion confessed, earning a small smile from Robb as he thought about the similarity to Annalys in that aspect.

"Annalys thinks I'm a fool for coming here," He confessed, sighing in defeat.

"Of course she did. If I was your wife I would have argued against it. General rule of thumb, Stark men don't fare well when they travel south." Tyrion explained, earning a puzzled look from Robb.

"I live in the South," He reminded Tyrion in a confused tone, "I have for the past five years."

Tyrion turned to him and frowned, as if the information was new to him. He opened his mouth to question him, but was cut off by a loud roar being heard from overhead. Robb and Ser Davos immediately dove to the ground while Edric remained in place, staring up at the sky with wide eyes. Drogon flew over them, just before turning and flying over the castle.

The three men turned to look at each other in astonishment before Davos looked back at Missandei, who was still standing in place, smirking.

Tyrion immediately walked over and helped Robb up to his feet. "I'd say you get used to them, but you never really do."

Robb turned to look back to the sky, all three of Daenerys' dragons circling above the castle. He tensed up, becoming concerned at the sight of them. They were huge, how was Annalys supposed to defeat them?

"Come," Tyrion encouraged Robb, causing the Stark man to look back at him, "Their mother is waiting for you."

Robb, Edric and Davos exchanged an uneasy look, just before they continued to follow Tyrion and Missandei through the walkway.

Once arriving inside the castle, Robb approached the throne room after the Dothraki guards opened the doors and allowed him in. He entered alongside Tyrion, Missandei, Edric, and Davos, and other Dothraki guards, his eyes immediately locking on the silver-haired women sitting on the Iron Throne. Once Robb locked eyes on Daenerys, Missandei wasted no time addressing him and the others.

"You stand in the presence of Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, rightful heir to the Iron Throne, rightful Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, The Unburnt, The Breaker of Chains." Missandei introduced Daenerys to the group in a loud tone.

Robb slowly turned to look at Ser Davos, who wasted no time speaking, "This is Robb of the House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Casterly Rock, King in the North and the Trident, King Consort of the Seven Kingdoms and the Free Folk." He explained, earning a small smirk from Edric when he noticed how taken back Daenerys and her followers seemed to be at the fact that Robb was King consort.

How the hell did they not know, after five years?

"Thank you for traveling so far, My Lords. I hope the seas weren't too rough." Daenerys politely responded, causing Robb to force himself to smile at her.

"They weren't, thankfully," Robb responded in a calm tone, clearly not pointing out that Daenerys refused to call him 'Your Grace'.

"Apologies. Ser Davos has a Flea Bottom accent, if it isn't obvious," Edric wasted no time speaking up, refusing to let it slide like Robb and Ser Davos did, "But what he said was Robb Stark is King in the North, Your Grace, and King of the Seven Kingdoms and Free Folk. He's not a lord."

"Forgive me--" Daenerys began to say, only to have no clue what to call him since she didn't know his name.

She turned to look at Tyrion, waiting for her Hand to introduce them, "Your Grace, this is Ser Edric of House Dayne," He informed Daenerys, who frowned slightly.

Why was a Dayne, of a people, serving Annalys?

"Forgive me, Ser Edric," Daenerys responded in a calm tone, forcing a smile on her face, "I never did receive a formal education, but I could have sworn the last King in the North was Torren Stark—" She began to say, only to hear the small scoff escape Robb's lips, "Is something wrong?"

"Aye, Torrhen Stark was the last King in the North that ruled before me until your ancestor, Aegon the Conqueror burnt thousands of Stark men alive during battle. Do you intend to do the same again if I refuse to kneel?" Robb found himself practically snapping at Daenerys, clearly not being able to contain himself.

Edric sighed, practically facepalming himself at Robb's impulsiveness.

"Under a Targaryen rule, the Seven Kingdoms have always had peace," Daenerys pointed out to Robb, who was quick to argue.

"Are you sure about that?" He questioned, raising a brow at Daenerys, "What of the Dance of Dragons, the Faith Militant Uprising, the Blackfyre Rebellion, the War of the Nine Penny Kings? Oh, and let's not forget Robert's Rebellion, the one that was started when your father burned my uncle and grandfather alive and your brother kidnapped and raped my aunt Lyanna." He explained, glaring at Daenerys coldly.

"You shouldn't judge a daughter for her family's mistakes," She complained, glaring back at Robb.

"Coming from the one who's already burnt thousands of people, just as her father always intended to do," Robb complained in an annoyed tone, "What makes you any different than him?"

"I fear you've spent too much time around my niece," Tyrion found himself speaking up, causing Robb to turn to him and roll his eyes, "You're not thinking before you are speaking. You just insulted a—"

"I know exactly what I did. I spoke the truth," Robb argued in a stern tone, turning to look at Daenerys, who looked beyond offended, "You want your family's legacy, but you're not willing to make up for or even acknowledge their past mistakes and sins."

Daenerys opened her mouth to argue but Robb continued on. "I came for dragonglass, but it would seems I must find it elsewhere." He decided, turning to leave the throne room.

"I haven't given you permission to leave, Lord Robb," Daenerys argued, glaring into Robb's back.

"King Robb, and..." He corrected her, turning to face her once more, "And as I recall, your name's not Annalys Lannister, which means you are not my queen," He paused, noticing the way the Dothraki prepared to step toward him threateningly, "Kill me if you must, but just know, if you kill me, any chance of you winning this war against my wife will become nonexistent. Annalys is not someone to anger and by killing me, you'll be doing just that."

"You're the only one who can convince Annalys to give up the throne," Tyrion spoke up, causing Robb to turn to look at him.

"Give me the dragonglass I need and perhaps I'll try," Robb told him, despite it being a half-lie.

"Perhaps?" Daenerys questioned, raising a brow at Robb.

"Annalys is stubborn. Convincing her to do something she doesn't want to do is next to impossible. She is Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Only her death would take that away from her." Robb explained to Daenerys in a calm, yet stern tone.

Of course, he would never actually try to convince Annalys to give up the throne. That was something neither of them wanted, especially after everything they went through to take it.

"She'd withhold the Iron Throne from me?" Daenerys asked defensively.

"She would," Robb confirmed, nodding his head slightly.

"Under what grounds?"

"Under the grounds that is everything she built for herself, myself, and our children will be taken away. Annalys built this country back up from near ruin after it had been destroyed by not one, but three wars. For five years, Westeros has lived fully in peace, until you came. Nobody in Westeros will kneel to you. They know no queen but Queen Annalys. As do I. They'll die before bending the knee to a Targaryen tyrant. Burn entire castles to the ground to force them to bend the knee if you must, but that will make you no better than your father. You'll be known as the Queen of the Ashes while Annalys will continue to be known as Westeros' savior." Robb explained in a venomous tone, taking Daenerys by surprise.

"What do you propose, then?" Daenerys found herself asking, despite not really caring about what he had to say.

"A treaty of peace," Robb answered, much to Daenerys' confusion.

"A treaty of peace? Annalys is sitting on a throne that's isn't even rightfully hers," Daenerys complained, beginning to glare at Robb, "How could I possibly agree to peace?"

"Not forever, but until the threat beyond the Wall is dealt with." Robb responded in a calm tone.

"What threat is that?" Daenerys questioned, rolling her eyes.

"The White Walkers."

Hearing Robb's words, Daenerys frowned. "The White Walkers are but a myth," She argued in calm tone.

"Really? Because I've fought them. I killed one as well," Robb informed Daenerys, who tried her hardest not to look interested in what he had to say.

"Is that what you need the dragonglass for? To kill them?" She questioned Robb, raising a skeptical brow at him.

"Yes. Dragonglass and Valyrian Steel is all that is known to kill the Army of the Dead and White Walkers."

Daenerys stared at Robb closely, knowing he will not give up until he got what he wanted. "Very well," She decided, rising from her seat, "I will let you mine the Dragonglass, but I will not sue for peace with Annalys. My war against her will continue as planned."

Robb frowned in confusion, but before he could complain, Daenerys left the room. He sighed in defeat, exchanging an uneasy look with Edric and Davos.

____

Later on that day, Daenerys and Missandei were walking along Dragonstone when Robb appeared at the bottom of the path. "Your Grace." He called out, causing Daenerys to turn to Missandei and then her Queensguard.

She spoke to them in Valyrian, motioning to her guard to stand down before she descended down the stairs with Missandei as they began to walk with Robb.

They walked along the beach until they reached a cave, where Ser Davos and Edric were waiting for them with a lit torch in both of their hands.

"I thought you must want to see it before we start hacking it to bits," Robb informed Daenerys, leading her and Missandeo into the cave.

As they walked deeper into the cave, the light from the torch illuminated the dragonglass along the walls. "This is it, all we'll ever need to defeat the army of the Dead." He informed the duo, turning to see Daenerys staring up at the walls of dragonglass in amazement, "There is something else I want to show you, Your Grace."

Daenerys turned to Robb in confusion, only to begin following the man into a further chambers in the cave. Robb stopped, revealing murals painted on the walls of the dragonglass cave.

"The Children of the Forest made these," He informed Daenerys, whose eyes widened in shock.

"When?" She asked in shock as she glanced around at each of the paintings.

"A very long time ago, I assume." He informed her, causing Daenerys' eyes to widen even more.

"They were right here standing where we're standing before there were Targaryens or Starks or Lannisters. Maybe even before there were men," She explained and Robb immediately turned to her, shaking his head in response, "What do you mean?"

Robb walked toward another wall as he began to examine the murals, which showed the Children of the Forest and the First Men standing together.

"They were here together, the Children and the First Men," He told her in a calm tone, saying it on purpose.

"Doing what? Fighting each other?" Daenerys questioned in confusion.

Robb took a deep breath, just before lightly grabbing Daenerys by the arm before turning her so that the torch showed a painting on the wall of White Walkers standing alongside the Night King. "They fought together against their common enemy. Despite their differences, despite their everything, they fought together. We must do the same if we're going to survive." He explained, causing Daenerys to look back at the paintings.

He watched her expression closely, clearly saying it on purpose in hopes of convincing her to make peace temporarily in order to defeat the Night King.

"This enemy is real. It always has been. And if we want to survive the next coming years, we must work together." Robb continued on and Daenerys slowly turned to look at him, beginning to stare at him intently.

She had an odd feeling in her gut as she locked eyes with Robb, but tried her hardest to ignore it, "And you say you can't defeat them without my armies and my dragons?" She questioned Robb curiously.

"No, I don't believe I can." Robb confessed, despite it not being the entire truth.

Th peace treaty wasn't to get ahold of her armies, it was to make sure the people he loved actually had the chance of fighting in the Great War before Daenerys Targaryen killed them.

Daenerys stepped forward, closer to Robb as she stared at him directly in the eyes. "I will fight for you. I will fight for the north and the rest of Westeros..." She trailed off, causing Robb to feel a bit of hope, "When you bend the knee."

Daenerys stepped even closer to Robb until they were face to face. "And when your wife is dead." She continued on and with that, she turned on her heel and began to leave, Robb following after her.

They walked out of the cave, Davos, Edric, and Melisandre following after them. As they exited, Tyrion and Varys were standing on the beach awaiting them. "What is it?" Daenerys immediately asked, looking toward Tyrion.

"We failed in taking Casterly Rock," He informed his queen, causing Robb to exchange an uneasy look with Ser Davos when no one was looking.

"What?! How?!" Daenerys asked in disbelief, her eyes wide in shock.

Tyrion briefly glanced over at Robb before looking back at Daenerys. "It seems my niece knew about the secret tunnels. She blocked them off."

Hearing Tyrion's revelation, Daenerys felt herself consumed with rage. "The Unsullied I sent?" She questioned him in concern.

"Most are dead, Your Grace. Our fleet has been burnt by the Iron Fleet. The remaining Unsullied have either been taken captive or have fled," Varys explained, much to Daenerys' shock.

"You'll want to discuss this amongst yourselves. Perhaps--" Ser Davos began to say, only to have Daenerys cut him off.

"You will stay," She demanded in a stern tone, causing Robb to tense up, "All my allies are gone. They've been taken from me while I've been sitting here on this island."

"We still have the largest army," Tyrion tried to point out to Daenerys, but little did they know, it was a lie.

"We've lost most of the Unsullied!" Daenerys shouted at Tyrion angrily.

"Grey Worm and the remaining Unsullied will return. We still have enough ships to carry the Dothraki to the mainland. Commit to the blockade of King's Landing. We have a plan. It's still the right plan." Tyrion tried to convince Daenerys, who was clearly not listening.

She stopped walking, turning to speak harshly to Tyrion. "The right plan? Your strategy has lost most of the Unsullied and the majority of our fleet!"

"If I've underestimated our enemies--" Tyrion began to say, only to have Daenerys cut him off.

"Our enemies?" She questioned him, letting out a loud scoff as she glared at him, "Your niece, you mean. Perhaps you don't want to hurt her after all."

Daenerys looked out onto the ocean, locking eyes on her three dragons flying in the sky over the water. "Enough with the clever plans." She spoke up in a stern tone, turning to look back at Tyrion, which caused Robb to feel concerned, "I have three large dragons. I'm going to fly them to the Red Keep."

Hearing Daenerys' words, Robb's eyes widened in concern. He knew Annalys wouldn't be in King's Landing. She'd be at Casterly Rock, gathering the Lannister forces and her stored crops. But that didn't mean his children weren't at the Red Keep. His innocent children who had no involved in the war their parents were taking part in.

"We've discussed this," Tyrion argued in a stern tone, shaking his head in disapproval.

"My greatest enemy is in the Red Keep. What kind of a queen am I if I'm not willing to risk my life to fight her?" She complained in a frustrated tone.

"A smart one," Tyrion pointed out, causing Daenerys to glance over at Robb before back at the Lannister man, "My niece is traveling from Casterly Rock as we speak with the Lannister forces. She isn't in the Red Keep."

"Then it's the perfect time to attack her. She's riding on an open field and I have an army of Dothraki and three dragons." Daenerys explained in a stern and hostile tone.

"Your Grace—" Tyrion began to argue, but Daenerys was quick to cut him off.

"I've already lost to Annalys once, I will not lose again," Daenerys argued in a stern tone, turning on her heel before walking away.

Robb's eyes widened in alarm as he watched Daenerys walk away. He was on the verge of stepping forward, only to have Edric grab him by the arm. "She will be fine," He told Robb in a hushed tone, "She already knew this would happen. She did it on purpose."

Robb frowned, turning to Edric in confusion. "She's condemning the Lannister men to death," He complained in a hushed tone.

"Not if she wins," Edric pointed out quietly, "She's testing out her strategy. She has the scorpion."

Robb's eyes widened in shock, realizing there was a chance Annalys would kill Daenerys' dragon, Drogon. But would she succeed?

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

I just realized something so crazy about Robb and Annalys' children.

After the five year time jump, they are connected to all of the current great houses of Westeros, either related to them by blood or by marriage.

Of course, the obvious ones are House Stark, Lannister, and Tully.

But they're also connected to House Arryn through Robin Arryn (Robb's first cousin)

House Martell through Myrcella's marriage to Trystane.

And House Tyrell through Tommen's marriage to Margaery.

The second Myrcella and Tommen have kids of their own, House Stark, Lannister, Tully, Martell, and Tyrell will all be blood-related to each other through that generation which will be the same generation as Annalys and Robb's children.

Ik, this is so random and probably irrelevant, but I thought it was cool😂🤷🏻‍♀️
