LION'S LEGACY
20. Home
Once reaching the small council chamber, Annalys walked up to a large book. She flipped it open before pointing toward it. "Read it," She encouraged him in an angered tone, "Read it, Robb, and you'll know exactly why I've grown distant."
Robb frowned in confusion, but stepped forward. Annalys watched closely as he read the book. She tried her hardest to hold back her tears, despite wanting nothing more than to cry. Once reading the majority of it, he turned to Annalys, shaking his head in disapproval. "It must be a trick," He complained in a stern tone, "Someone must have created this just to scare you."
"It was created three hundred years before we were even born, Robb," She informed Robb, whose eyes widened in shock, "Qyburn says it created just after Aegon the Conqueror had become king of the Seven Kingdoms. A part of him believed it to be about himself, despite not being a lion. He rode a dragon, he was born from a single bloodline, he was born in the south, he was married to a woman in armor..." She trailed off, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, "But it's about me. I know it. The entire book explains my life."
"No, it doesn't," Robb argued as he shook his head in response.
"It does, Robb!" Annalys shouted, beginning to cry, "It says I will lose a child and I have. Now, the next part of the prophecy states that the man I love will die in my arms. You are the man I love."
Robb sighed in defeat, looking down at the book. He didn't understand why she believed the man lying dead in the Golden Lion's arms was him. It simply showed a man wearing armor and held a fancy, bloody sword in his hand. That could have been anyone. There was four men Annalys cared deeply about that had an infamous sword and each of those men she loved in a different way.
First, there was Robb himself, who was the love of her life and the man loved in a romantic way. His sword was Lionsbane.
Second, there was Jaime, who was Annalys' father and the first man she ever loved, the man she'd always love most for being the one to raise her. He had his infamous Valyrian Steel sword that still didn't have a name.
Third, there was Jon Snow, who had been Annalys' closest friend besides Robb as a child. She once cared for him romantically, but now, she loved him like family.
Fourth and lastly, there was Ser Edric Dayne, Annalys' most loyal subject and the Lord Commander of her Queensguard. Edric had disliked Annalys the first time he met her but he soon began to believe in her in the same way Jeyne had. Annalys loved him deeply, just not in the way she loved Robb, Jaime, or Jon. It was a different kind of love, but the purest of them all nonetheless.
Edric would do anything for Annalys and Annalys would return the favor without question. They'd die for each other and would never regret it. Out of everyone in the entire world, Annalys trusted Edric most of all, oddly enough. More than Jaime or even Robb. Edric was also the one that knew the most about Annalys' secrets, due to being her escort the majority of the time.
If Robb had to bet on who the man in the prophecy was, he'd say it was either Jaime and Edric, but apart of him believed it was Edric most of all. Robb wouldn't admit that to Annalys, though. If she began to believe him, she'd tried to cast Edric off to the side like she tried to do with Robb and he didn't want that.
Robb needed Edric as Annalys' Lord Commander. Edric was the only other man beside himself that Robb trusted Annalys to be protected by. Annalys didn't really need protection, but she'd always need someone by her side as she constantly kicked ass. Edric was surely that person.
After all, he was the only person in Westeros who truly ever had the chance of besting Annalys with a sword. He was the only one who would ever truly be as good as her, too. Not many people seemed to know that, but after all, he was the sword of the morning for a reason.
"You shouldn't worry about this, my love," Robb managed to speak up as he turned to face Annalys, who looked absolutely devastated by the book, "Don't let this book control your life. Think about something else, Annalys."
"What if I can't?" Annalys asked, beginning to move closer to Robb, "Everyday since I've learned about it, all I can think about is losing you or my children. What if I lose another child? What if I lose you? I can't bare the thought of losing anyone else I love."
Robb sighed, moving closer to Annalys as he cupped her face in his hands. "You won't, you won't," He told her softly, wiping the tears from her eyes, "We don't have to let this define us. We can stop it. If anyone can, it's us."
Annalys knew what Robb meant. He was trying to remind her of the obstacles that kept them apart years ago. Everyone felt as though the world was trying to keep them apart, even they did, but despite that, they found a way to stay together and remain happy.
"Why?" Annalys found herself asking Robb as she stared up at him, "Why did you try to take my daughter away from me? Why did you try to marry her off?"
"We need some of their crops," Robb informed her in a soft tone, "They wanted a marriage in return," He paused, a saddened look on his face, "Did you think I really wanted marry our daughter off? She's six! I thought we had to. The Arbor is also the only place in Westeros that has a fleet that can match the Iron Fleet. I don't want a civil war to occur and the only way to make sure things like that can never happen is to make alliances."
"I understand," Annalys found herself admitting as she looked up at her husband.
Robb stared back at her in shock, clearly not expecting her to actually agree with him. Suddenly, a large, painfilled grunt escaped Robb's parted lips as Annalys roughly grabbed handful of his curly auburn hair with one hand and used the other to grip onto his groin area in an attempt to gain his undivided attention. "But you will never go behind my back again when it involves my children, understand?" She told him in a low, venomous tone and Robb wasted no time nodding his head as he hissed in pain.
He knew better than to do what he had done. They were fine with each other doing things on their own, but one thing that Annalys would never stand was when it came to Robb doing things without telling her when it involved their children.
There was a fierceness in Annalys when it came to her children that even Robb was afraid of, in a way. A fierceness that would have Annalys killing anyone who would dare harm her children, no matter who that person was.
Robb let out a breath of relief as Annalys finally released him from her tight grip. After she had done so, Robb roughly grabbed her by the back of her neck, tugging her back toward him.
Annalys smirked, doing nothing as Robb roughly smashed his lips against hers. The kiss began to deepen and became rough. As they kissed, Robb began to trail his hand up the skirt of her dress. However, he suddenly stopped and pulled away from Annalys, giving her a hesitant look. "What if someone walks in?" He questioned, earning an evil smirk from Annalys.
"We are king and queen of Westeros, who gives a fuck? That shall be happy there's a chance we'll be giving them another prince or princess to dawn over," Annalys retorted, causing Robb to begin smirking mischievously alongside her.
With a single swipe, Robb shoved everything off the large table, including the book they had formerly been looking at, which dropped to the ground with a large thud. After doing so, he grabbed Annalys by the waist and placed her down on the table.
He placed a hand on her chest, roughly pushing her down on the table so that she was laying on it before he began to pull up the skirt of her dress.
Annalys smiled, moaning as he began to trail kisses up her thighs and underneath her dress. "Don't stop," She told him in between breaths, running her hands through Robb's hair, "Don't ever stop."
At the entrance of the small council chamber, Torra walked in while holding Aden's hand, both of them smiling.
"Oh, you think you're so smooth, Aden Storm," Torra playfully commented as they entered the room that assumed would be empty for the rest of the night, which would mean they'd be free to be alone without any interruptions.
"I do, and what do you think?" Aden questioned, spinning Torra around to face him before he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I think you're alright," Torra sarcastically replied, leaning forward so that their lips were brushing against each other, yet they were still not kissing. Not yet, at least.
"Just alright?" Aden asked jokingly, beginning to kiss down her neck, "Perhaps I'll have to change that."
Torra let out a giggle as Aden roughly picked her up. She immediately secured her legs around his waist as they made their way toward the main room of the small council chamber, not knowing there was people were already there. The two people that were the last people they wanted to see at that moment.
Annalys was on the verge of pulling down Robb's pants when she turned her head to see the oblivious Torra and Aden entering while they still locking lips.
She let out a panicked scream, her eyes widening in disbelief. She quickly fixed her dress and pushed Robb away from her while Torra and Aden quickly removed themselves from practically being latched onto each other.
"Seven hells!" Torra cursed, looking beyond horrified by the sight of Robb quickly fixing his pants and putting his shirt back on while Annalys tried to put the skirt out of her dress back into place.
Alarmed, Torra quickly turned to Aden with a pleading look on her face. "Go," She whispered to him softly, "Please. I'll find you later."
Aden sighed, giving Torra an apologetic look before running off. Torra sighed in defeat, turning to face her adoptive parents as they made their way toward her. "You must be joking," Robb complained, giving Torra a scolding look, "Please tell me you haven't bedded this boy."
"I have," Torra confidently responded as she crossed her arms over her chest, "And I will not stop seeing him, no matter what you say. I love him and when the chance comes, I will marry him."
Robb scoffed loudly, giving Torra a look of disbelief. "Love him? You're fifteen!" He complained, earning an eye roll from Torra, "Do not roll your eyes at me, Torra."
"You really have the audacity to me who I can and cannot love," Torra complained, giving Robb an annoyed look, "You married Annalys for love. You married her even when you knew she was the bastard child of the man who pushed your brother out of a tower window and the daughter of the woman who was keeping your sisters hostage. I don't see why Aden being the bastard son of Robert Baratheon should matter."
Robb's eyes widened at the revelation, clearly not knowing that while Annalys cursed under her breath. He slowly turned to his wife, knowing by her reaction that she had already known. "You knew this?" He asked Annalys in disbelief, causing her to sigh in defeat, "Did you know she was bedding him, too?"
"I found her bedsheets stained with blood, what do you think?" Annalys retorted and Torra's eyes immediately widened in alarm when she noticed how furious Robb looked, "What? Did you really think I'd just tell you that our daughter had lost her maidenhood? I don't think that conversation would have ever ended well. Not to mention, the conversation would have been quite awkward."
Robb slowly turned to look at Torra, an angry look on his face. "You will stop seeing him," He demanded, causing Torra to give him a look of disbelief.
She was about to complain when Annalys beat her to it. "She will do no such thing," She suddenly argued, much to both of their shocks.
"What?" Robb questioned, taken aback by the fact that Annalys was taking Torra's side.
"She loves him. She truly loves him. That changes everything," Annalys explained, much to Robb's confusion, "I know you fear that she will fall pregnant and have a bastard child, but we can stop that from happening. She take moontea, it will stop her from becoming pregnant. And when she turns sixteen, she may marry him if she pleases."
"That isn't the point, Annalys!" Robb shouted at his wife in frustration, "She's fifteen!"
"We fell in love at sixteen and married not too long after that," Annalys argued with Robb, much to his shock, "What makes her and Aden any different? I'll admit, I even like the dynamic of it. A Baratheon and a Stark. A match made in the Seven Heavens. Their union will make up for what should have occurred between Robert Baratheon and Lyanna Stark."
"Okay, now you're just saying things just to be saying them," Robb complained, turning to look at Torra, who continued to give him a pleading look.
"I asked you how you knew you had fallen in love with Annalys. I feel the same way about Aden," She explained, tears welled in her eyes, "I've never truly felt at home since I left my home beyond the Wall. But with Aden, I feel like he is my home, just like Annalys is yours. I love him. Please don't take him away from me. I can't bear the thought of losing him, not after everything."
Robb remained silent, sighing in defeat as he felt as though he couldn't tell her no. He turned to look at Annalys, who he already knew wanted him to allow Torra and Aden to be together.
"Fine," Robb hesitantly decided, causing Torra sigh in utter defeat while Annalys smiled happily.
Tears in her eyes, Torra stepped forward and hugged Robb. Robb turned to look at Annalys, who smiled as Robb began to hug Torra back.
"Thank you, Father," Torra whispered softly, continuing to hug Robb as she felt utterly thankful for him allowing her to be with the man she loved.
Robb began to gradually smile as well, knowing in his heart it was the right thing to do. Torra felt happy with Aden, she felt like she was home, despite being taken away from her real home. The North. The same happened to Robb. He was forced to be away from Winterfell, his real home. However, after spending so much time with Annalys, she became his new home. He might not have enjoyed the South as much as Annalys did, but with her there with him, he was fine with being there.
