Chapter 18: Insight

- Palutena -

I pull my blanket over my head as the sun shines brightly in my eyes. I slowly start to open them as I blink once and twice. Once I was fully awake, I look around me to check if anything happened last night. I can see Dark Pit laying next to me. I see Link on the other side of us still sleeping. Then, I see our backpacks that were open instead of closed. I quickly get up and rush to see what happened. "No..." I mumbled as I remembered what was in these bags. I checked through them to see that someone took our food and the map that Rosalina gave us. "No!" I exclaimed, continuing to rummage through the bags. I could hear Link and Dark Pit wake up suddenly. I could feel them running toward me. "Palutena? What are you doing?" Link asked, rubbing his eyes. "The backpacks!" I exclaimed in a panic. "What about them?" What made you yell that loud that you woke us up?" Dark Pit asked, annoyingly as he crossed his arms. "Have a look!" I responded, backing away from the backpacks. Dark Pit and Link look at one another before leaning down to check inside. "Our stuff! They're gone!" Dark Pit yelled as soon as he looked inside. Link started to rummage through them, determined to find something that wasn't stolen. Yet, he could find nothing as he lifted the empty bags in his hands. "What could have happened?" Link asked, nervously. A sense of nervousness and panic was in the air. "We just started our journey to find Pit and this is what happens! I knew that brat of an angel was trouble!" Dark Pit yelled out, angrily. "Hey, now, we can't put the blame on Pit. He isn't even here!" Link responded, trying to calm Pitoo down.

"Okay, both of you calm down. Panicking won't help us." I spoke, putting a hand on both of their shoulders. The two looked away, nodding as they let out a huge sigh. "Perhaps, I can use my powers to find out what happened. An insight might help!" I explained, closing my eyes. "A what?" Link asked, confused. "She harnesses anyone's eyesight to see who could have done something. Confusing, I know but, just watch." Dark Pit explained, quietly. "Alright, give me an insight and show me what happened last night," I mumbled.

I could see someone walking toward our camping site. Yet, it was too dark to see who it was. I could hear their soft chuckles and breathe as they finally reached the backpacks. They looked at all three of us to check if we were awake. Once the person could confirm we were asleep, they started to open our backpacks and rummage through them. I saw them eating some parts of our food and leaving some leftovers for later. I saw them grab the map and rip it into tiny pieces before throwing those pieces into the air. The figure soon ran away as they continued to laugh softly.

They looked down for a second to stare at a puddle. I bit my bottom lip softly as I wished to see who this person was. But, all I could see was a male figure with giant glowing wings. They then started to run toward a cliff and jumped at the edge of it only for them to start flying. I quickly open my eyes as I feel a little light-headed. Dark Pit grabs onto my arm to help me find my balance and I softly thank him. "What did you see, Lady Palutena?" Link asked, softly.

I smiled slightly as I begin to realize who that figure might be. "Hold on, Link. Let Palutena rest for a bit. That power of hers can drain her energy if she isn't careful." Dark Pit explained, walking me toward my blanket and pillow. I slowly sit down on the blanket before laying down carefully on the pillow. Doing an insight can hurt. It takes away my energy. Make me feel light-headed and tired. The power was a curse and a blessing at the same time. Which was why I never took it for granted.

No one talked as I closed my eyes for a bit, trying to steady myself and my thoughts. I put a hand over my eyes to try to block out the sun from them. "Link, do you know what an insight is now?" I asked, gently. "I'm guessing a view from another's perspective?" He guessed, nervously. "You're right. That view can only happen if I'm in the right location and spot where they stood. Which means, I managed to find who stole all of our items." I responded, slowly opening my eyes and sitting up.

"So, what did you see?" Dark Pit asked as they both sat next to me. "I saw a person running toward our campsite and checking to see if we were awake. Once they did, they ate most of our food and saved the rest for later. They took our map and ripped it before throwing it in the air. And just like that, they ran toward a cliff, jumped and flew." I explained, looking down at my hands. I could still picture that puddle reflection. That figure and those wings could only mean one thing, right?

"Woah, wait, what do you mean by they flew?" Link asked. "Yeah, did you miss something that was important or?" Dark Pit questioned. "I saw a puddle reflection yet, I only could see a figure and huge glowing wings. But, I already know who it is." I explained, fidgeting with my fingers. "Who?" They both asked in unison. "It seems Pit is a vessel for a monster that we are yet to defeat," I spoke, standing up from my spot. "Those wings shone a red, blue, and purple light," I mumbled, looking down at them. "Wait, I only know one monster who has those colors. Are you talking about..." Link spoke and I nodded.

"It seems Pit is a vessel for Galeem." I spoke, sighing.
