Chapter Nineteen: Comfort

You have never felt so energised before, you woke up early and felt great. You could run a marathon with all the energy you felt. There was no other way to describe the jolt of energy you were experiencing today. Maybe it had to do with the plan you had made previously with a certain ghost or the extra sleep you have been getting, but either way, you couldn't tell.

You packed everything you needed and maybe added some extra things such your camera. Maybe you could get some shots of the scenery as the two of you where riding the train, who knows.

By ten you were already out the door and ready for the day ahead. You arrived at the train station where some workers greeted you. Since you have been such a frequent user or a fan of public transport they had memories your appearance and learnt your name. And to add to that, the incident of you fainting on the train was widespread and soon reached your local train station. Pretty much everyone knew about what had happened and they took time to check up on you, ignoring your words saying 'don't trouble yourself, I am doing great.'

Summer had completely come to an end and the sleeveless blouses your wore to work turned into lightly knitted sweaters. Unconsciously putting more effort into your outfit for today. Autumn was one of your favourite seasons for one reason, the beautiful changing of the season, once green leaves falling into the footpath, ready for you to capture with your camera. In fact, you snapped a few whilst making your way here.

A satisfied grin remained in your face as you entered the door of the train carriage, standing since there were no available seats. You flicked through the photo you had taken on your way here and grinned from ear to ear, they came out better then you expected. Suddenly realising you had automatically walked into the train once it began to move.

"What model is that, I've never seemed something that odd looking in my life." You hear someone say from behind. Causing you to turn around and be faced with a smiling ghost. You would usually feel the sensation of his hot breath on your neck, that was how close he was but instead felt the opposite, cold air.

"OH, hey Jungkook." You jumped slightly, slightly surprised by his close proximity.

"Was I too close?" He inquired after catching into your pink tinted cheeks, a small smirk on his face.

"Pardon?" You frowned in confusion, blinking a few times, not understanding what he was trying to say. Jungkook gestured for you to lean in, thinking he had something he wanted to tell you, you leaned in and he bent over.

"You're wearing a nice shade of pink today." He whispered, he was laughing cheekily as you quickly covered your cheeks with your palms, completely flustered.

Since when did Jungkook learn the art of flirting?

What caused his attitude to change so abruptly?

Maybe something is bothering him.

He continued to laugh resulting in you sending him a deadly glare in return. He really wanted to pinch your cheeks at that moment.

"It's not that funny, it was cold outside." You retorted, hiding that fact that you were embarrised in front of the cheeky ghost.

"Sure. But your inside now honey" He clicked his tongue in disbelief, making your glare sharper, not even reacting to the nickname he gave.

"You know you're a floating ball of cold, a walking air conditioner. Don't blame me." You crossed your hands in front of your chest and turned away from him.

"I thought you had gotten used to my cold aura?" He playfully raised an eyebrow at you but you didn't see since your head was turned.

"Nope." You denied.

"Lier."

"Nope."

"BABY!"

"Nop~ hang on what?" You quickly whipped your head around to find Jungkook, gaze darting around the train carriage until it landed on a giggling baby and floating figure. You watched in admiration as he poked the baby's nose, causing her to laugh. Jungkook continued to play with the baby, jingling a toy which was strapped into the baby stroller whilst the mother was busy talking. Jungkook smiled brightly, showing his two bunny like teeth. The baby reached into the air, only to grab nothing but air. His smiled dimly slightly, he couldn't touch her and he missed it.

He was good with kids, you could see it and he enjoyed it but it broke your heart the way he reacted when the baby couldn't touch him. Soon the train stopped and the mother along with the baby was outside of the carriage.

"Jungkook, you okay?" You inquired, warily.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" His slight frown was gone and quickly replaced with a bright smile but you could see past it. You pressed your lips together with empathy, you couldn't necessarily say you understood how he felt but you could imagine how difficult it was for him. He continued to smile as he eyes watched your softened state.

"It must be tough, hey?" You blurted out, catching him off guard.

"What?" Jungkook breathed out, it was his turn to not understand what you were saying.

"Do you miss being~."

"Human?" He finally got what you were saying and finished off your sentence with a saddened tone.

"Yeah."

"At times, yeah but then I remember no one can see and me which means I can mess with everyone as much as I want. Besides, I wouldn't have met your if this didn't happen." He smiled sweetly, you let your shoulders loosen, a small smiled plastered on your face as well.

What did Jungkook do to deserve this terrible fate?

"Anyway, you're never answered my question." He quickly changed the topic. You took this as a sign that he didn't want to talk about that any further so you didn't push, instead sending him another puzzled expression.

"Question?"

"I asked your what model your camera was." He repeated, as if someone clicked in your head, you now knew exactly what he was asking.

"Oh its a DSLR." You held up your camera for him to see and he looked at it with much curiosity.

"A DSL~what?"

"Digital single-lens reflex camera."

"I still don't know what that is." At first, he looked like he knew didn't what it was once you broke it down for him but he then let out a frustrated raspberry.

You chuckled. "It means when I take photos you don't need to get them processed, instead it is stored on a nifty thing called a memory card."

"Wow." He didn't need to say anything else for you to know what else was going on in that boy's head, he was so fascinated by the device.

"Here." You turned on your camera and took a picture of the ceiling of the carriage before flashing the photo you had just taken to him.

"Wow." He said again, you laughed before handing over the camera to the ghost.

"Just click this to take a photo and you look through this to see what you are taking a photo of." You pointed to two pieces of the camera before Jungkook quickly ran~ floated, away with the camera. You made sure to turn flash off since, people were already creeped out by a floating camera, you didn't think they needed the added random flashing light.

He came back a few seconds later and handed you back the camera. Snapping a cheeky candid photo of you.

"(Y/n), all fun aside, I need to tell you something." He seriously spoke.

Random?

He is really out of character today.

"What's up?" You hummed after taking the camera back and putting the strap around your neck.

"I want you to drop my case." He breathed out, barely audible.

"Again? Jungkook I told you before. If your~."

"No." He quickly snapped. "I don't want you to work on it anymore." Your eyes widened in shock.

What?

"I don't care if I am stuck on this stupid train forever. I don't want anyone to work this hard for me. Only to have me disappear from their lives forever."

"Jungkook." Was all you managed to say, you were speechless.

"You know what. Just forget about me, everything about me. Forget it because it will just save you the pain in the future. "Now you were angry, it was funny how your went from speechless and saddened to angry so quickly.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?" Your breathing became heavy as your chest rose and fell. "THERE IS NO FREAKIN WAY YOU EXPECT ME TO JUST FORGET YOU!" Your eyes quickly became glossy as you imagined the idea of forgetting him just like that. You took a step towards the ghost, having the intention of poking his chest only to poke nothing. "WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON YOUR CASE FOR THREE MONTHS, not only that. I HAVE GROWN TO CARE FOR YOU AND IN FACT, HAPPEN TO CALL YOU A CLOSE FRIEND. I AM NOT GOING TO FREAKIN FORGET YOU JUST LIKE THAT!" You subconsciously took steps forwards as you said this and cornered the ghost on the wall of the carriage, even though he could easily fuse into the other cart. You whimpered, trying to conceal your tears as they fell. "Selfish." You muttered under your breath, using the sleeve of your sweater to whip away your tears.

Jungkook didn't even have the intention of making you cry. Seeing you cry and hurting you was the last thing he wanted. He hated seeing you upset. He merely wanted to save you from further exhausting yourself because if you continued on, it would definitely do more to your health.

"Listen, (y/n). I'm sor~." He tried to whip your tears away but he couldn't and it hurt him so much, the fact that he couldn't comfort you.

"Don't apologies you dummy. Didn't you think I would miss you?" You looked at him, red puffy eyes and stern frown. You hugged yourself from the cold and silence enveloped the atmosphere.

"You have no idea how much I want to hug you right now." He spoke breaking the silence Causing you to chuckled slightly, a small smiled appearing on your face. Making Jungkook smile as well.

~TBC~

.

So basically Jungkook was off today because he has something on his mind which was what he told you before. Did you like the slightly flirty Jungkook, I don't usually write that flirty stuff because I simply have no experience. (< that sounds sadder on text). If you did let know then I might add more on future chapters.

I hope this chapter made up for Jungkook's absence in the past few chapters. This was a pretty long chapter nearly 2k. Well, long for this book that is. Anyways, enjoy the fluff as much as you can because I'm about to drop some more bombshells on you all in the next few chapters. I think this book will be ending in the late-twenties or maybe early thirties, we will see. Byee.
