I don't like it

Lindir felt a light poking on his face. "What on Middle Earth...," he thought as he opened his eyes. Taneniel, your daughter, stood there clutching her stuffed rabbit.

"Moon and stars, what ever is the matter?" he asked quietly, fearing he would wake you. Taneniel reached her arms up to her father to bring her up on the bed. Lindir smiled and picked her up, kissing her head.

"When will my baby sister be here Ada?" the elfling asked looking at your sleeping form. Lindir settled back against his pillow, holding her close to his chest.

"You will have a little sister or brother any day now."

Taneniel out her little hands on either side of her father's face. "No Ada, I will have a little sister." she said sternly, looking hard into Lindir's chocolate eyes. Lindir bit his lip to keep from laughing.

"Okay you will have a little sister."

Your daughter smiled, snuggling into his chest. "Goodnight Ada." Lindir kisses the top of her head and drifts off to sleep again.

(Time skip to after birth)

You gasp for air as you hear the sound of a baby. The midwife, Alathleth, smiles and hands you your baby. "Congratulations my lady, it's a boy!" You smile and takes the little Ellon from her arms.

"You can bring my husband in now."

Alathleth nods and opens the doors. Lindir nods his thanks to the Elleth. After the midwife leaves, Lindir rushes to your side. "You have a son melamin."

Lindir smiles and kisses the elfling's face. "I will fetch Taneniel." He says getting off the bed. You nod. As Lindir turns to walk out the doors, he pursed his lips together. This was going to be interesting.

Taneniel sat in Elrond's library, reading a book with him. "Forgive me my lord, but there is someone I would like Taneniel to meet." Lindir says giving a slight bow. Taneniel jumped off Elrond's lap and grabbed her fathers hand.

"How is Y/n doing?"

"She's doing very well my lord, the baby is as well." Lindir says, giving a slight smile as his daughter pulled and pulled on his hand.

Elrond chuckles seeing the elfling struggle to pull the bigger elf along. "Take all the time you need to be with your family Lindir. You have my congratulations."

Lindir bowed again before excusing himself and his daughter. Once they were out of Elrond's sight, Lindir picks the Elleth up.

Once the pair was inside your chambers, Taneniel struggles to get down. Lindir sets her down on the ground, and she rushes into your bedroom. You look up at your daughter, and extend your right arm to her.

Taneniel grabs your hand, and you pull her up onto the bed. "This is your little brother Taneniel." You say gently, showing her the little bundle in your left arm. Taneniel freezes. Lindir purses his lips together again as he stood by your bed.

"No baby sister?"

You shake your head.

Taneniel looks back to her father and begins to cry. You look to your husband with a questioning look. Lindir shrugs his shoulders as Taneniel wrapped her arms around his neck. Her sobs caused your son to start crying.

"Shh shh it's all right. Nana is here little one." You coo to your son. Lindir looks to you as he rubbed the little elleth's back. "Taneniel what is the matter?" He asks gently.

"I don't want a baby brother! I want a baby sister! Can you take him back?"

You give her a sympathetic look. Lindir sighs. "Moon and stars, nana and I can't give your brother back. I'm afraid your stuck with him."

Taneniel wails into her father's tunic. You wince hearing both of your children crying. Lindir hums a lullaby to the elflings. Taneniel sniffles and looks at her father with sad eyes. He wipes a tear from her cheek.

Eventually your son calms down, and falls asleep. Taneniel looks back at you both. "May I see him nana?" You nod and beckon her to you. She crawls over to you and gets up on her knees.

Taneniel covers her mouth and looks back at Lindir. "What is his name nana?" You look to your husband and he nods. "Well moon and stars, we were thinking that you could name him."

She thinks for a moment, then remembers the story Lord Elrond read to her. The tale of the elven prince Avorthal, who was rescued by an elf maid (another reference to Lord of the Rings Online....if you can't tell I flipping love that game).

"Avorthal. Like in the story that Lord Elrond read to me."

You smile and look down to your son. "Avorthal it is."
