Leaving Part 1

When Rita announced that she was divorcing Lynn, many of the children slowly started to pick their food. Eventually Rita started to address the seven children that she was planning to take.

"Lana, Lucy, Leni, Lisa and Lola pack your things. We're going tonight as soon as I get a car with Lincoln..Lisa you help pack Lily's things when you're finished and Lucy have Lana take down those broads on Lincoln's room and pack some of his stuff too." Rita Said.

"You can't do that...His badluck could still be in there." Lynn argued.

"Lynn...This is happening one way or another. Lana is taking down those boards no matter what and anyone who tries to get in their way is grounded." Rita stated. The seven girls quickly went to grab their suitcases and rushed upstairs to pack as many things as they could. Rita was planning to get a van to help get the rest of it when everything was settled.

The five remaining kids just looked on in silence as Rita slowly walked to the backdoor to get Lincoln who was just looking up at the sky.

"Lincoln...Can you come in here please? You need to get dressed so we can go to the car dealership." Rita Said. Lincoln slowly got up and entered the house trying to ignore the glares that were sent his way.

"I see those glares girls and it won't make a difference. You have taken Lincoln for granted for far too long and this is the final straw." Rita Said. After a couple of minutes, Lincoln came downstairs and started to follow his mother to the bus stop.

"Mom...Is this my fault?" Lincoln Asked.

"No..it's not. Lincoln...We went too far. Your father..sigh..manipulated me into going along with kicking you out. A real parent wouldn't have kicked you out...This just shows how much I let you down." Rita Said while looking at her hands. Suddenly she felt a pair of arms slowly hug her which made her cry a little bit.

"Don't say that mom. You're a great mother. If you weren't then would you divorce dad and let me back in the house?" Lincoln Said.

"You're right. I would've have kept this going if I ignored the guilt and shame. However it may take some time for your other siblings to see that you aren't badluck. Especially Lynn and Lori." Rita Said.

"Yeah..But things always work out in the end. Maybe those two will see the truth eventually." Lincoln Said.

Rita was about to say something else when the bus arrived. Slowly they walked on and sat down next to each other. As the bus pulled away Rita had one thought on her mind..I'm lucky to have a son as great as Lincoln.
