Chapter 4. Aftermath.

Hell, pride ring, IMP Office Building...

Once the three imps, and shark demon exited the portal, they now stand in their company's lobby where the Hellhound receptionist, Loona, is on her phone not even looking up at them.

The portal closed behind them once they all entered the room.

"Ok, we're back. Now explain what the fuck happened out there!" Blitzo demanded impatiently.

Loona spoke up, but still kept her face in her phone.

"Did Black Tip screw up the job?" She asked nonchalantly with a bored tone.

"Shut the hell up! I didn't screw up anything!" Black Tip snapped, not in the mood for Loona's snarky behavior.

"Then explain to us as to why you chose to go out of your way, and get exposed to humans!" Blitzo demanded.

Black Tip took a deep inhale, and sighed tiredly before explaining anything.

"I did what I did because of Undertow." Black Tip said.

The three imps were confused.

"Under who?" Blitzo asked in confusion.

"You saw the giant shark attacking those people at the lake, right?" Black Tip asked.

"Yes, why does that matter?" Blitzo asked.

"That's Undertow. A blood thirsty razor toothed sonuvabitch that stabbed my family in the back. We killed him, but he came back as a monster. I never thought I'd see him again after two years." Black Tip explained.

"Did he have stripes, and red eyes?" Loona asked, still staring at her phone.

"How the fuck the do you know that?" Black Tip asked, shocked that she knows two details about his old time foe.

"Because there's a video of you saving a kid from him. It just got posted." Loona answers, showing him, and the imps the video.

True to her word, there's now a video online showing Black Tip surfing a wave of water he's controlling with the kid on his shoulders as he evades Undertow's attempts in trying to eat them.

"Of course people took videos of that." Black Tip grumbled in mild annoyance.

"Yep. It's also trending." Loona said, going back to browsing on her phone.

"D'aww! Black Tip's first big fuck up." Blitzo cooed.

"Shut up, Blitz! It's not even a fuck up! You fuck up more than anyone here! As long as they don't know I'm a demon, then it's fine!" Black Tip countered.

"How can you be so sure about that?" Moxxie asked.

"That's the thing. I'm not sure. They'll most likely come up with some crazy theory as to who is what I am. I just personally doubt that they'll think I'm a demon. For example, what part of me screams demon from hell when you look at me?" Black Tip asked the gun specialist.

Moxxie stared at the anthropomorphic shark for a moment, analyzing his appearance to see if any part of him would make people think he's a demon.

"Ok, fair point. I don't see how people would think you're a demon upon first glance." Moxxie said, seeing that his co-worker has a point.

"But what about your true demon form?" Millie asked, putting her away her double bladed axe.

"My what?" Black Tip asked.

"Your true demon form. Don't sinners like you have one?" Millie asked.

"Oh. Actually, I don't know if I have one. Plus, I'm not sure if every sinner has a true demon form anyways. Regardless of that, it currently doesn't matter." Black Tip answered.

"Ok, but wouldn't those freaks up top find a connection between you, and that giant fucker who attacked them?" Blitzo questioned.

"Most likely. We did just shout each other's names before he disappeared through a portal. But I don't care, it's not important. As long as they saw me, and not any of you, it should be somewhat ok. Ok? Ok. Now if you excuse me, I need to dry off, and start doing research." Black Tip said, heading to the break room to gather the rest of his clothes.

"Research on what?" Moxxie asked.

"The kid who's ass I saved from a demonic monster!" Black Tip called out from the break room.

"Why do you care about some stupid kid?" Blitzo asked as Black Tip walked out of the break room with his shirt, shoes, socks, and vest.

"You don't know Undertow. That bastard can hold a grudge. Especially to those who escape his wrath. Me being one of them. That 'stupid kid' now has a big ass target plastered on his back." Black Tip explained.

He then used his water manipulation ability to retract the water from his pants, leaving them dry like they were before he dove into the lake, and now holds a glob of water hovering over his hand. He then dunked the water into a potted plant they had in the lobby. He then began to put the rest of his clothes on.

"I should know. I've had a target placed on my back, and vice versa, ever since that twisted piece of shit took everything from me. So I made myself a vow. I vowed that if I ever saw his resurrected bitch ass ever again, I'd instill the fear of god into him when I get the chance! Since I currently lack any ability to make his afterlife a nightmare, I might as well make like Bugs Bunny, and piss him off." Black Tip explained further, putting his shoes on.

"Wow. Since when did you become monologue-Johnson?" Blitzo remarked.

"Hey, you asked!" Black Tip defended.

The humanoid shark demon then grabbed an iPhone from a pocket inside his red vest. "As soon as I'm done searching, I'm gonna borrow the book, and head topside."

"Topside? Wait a minute, you can read the book?" Blitzo asked.

"Yes, and yes." Black Tip answered.

"Where the hell did you learn to do that?" Blitzo asked.

"My girlfriend." Black Tip answered again.

"Ooooh~ Who's the lucky lady?" Millie asked with a cheeky smile on her face.

"The daughter of the owl man our boss fucks." Black Tip answered, heading into the break room.

Human realm, Royal Woods, MI...

After the whole B-movie incident had ended at the lake, a bunch of police, and a group of ambulances had arrived on the scene, as well as a news crew.

"This is Katherine Mulligan, and we're live on the scene of lake Sandy-Bark, where a horrific incident has taken place. Moments ago, people were enjoying themselves at the lake since it recently became open to the public. However, things took a turn for the worst when, I-I can't believe I'm saying this, a giant man-eating shark had suddenly appeared, and has killed and injured a small group of people in canoes. You heard right, everyone here has witnessed a giant shark attack innocent people here at the lake. The giant shark has been identified by off duty police officer, Oliver Bench, as a tiger shark with discolored skin, eyes, and a webbed tail fin." The news reporter, Katherine, explained.

She then spotted the mentioned officer talking to other officers.

"Oh, there he is. Excuse me! Officer Bench! Do you have a moment?" Katherine asked as she, and her camera man approached him.

"Just a second." He says, and returns his attention to the other officers. "I'll write down my report on the incident as soon as I can, just a moment."

He then returns his attention to the news reporter.

"Ok, I've got a free moment. What do you need?" He asked.

"Could you explain as to how you identified the shark as a massive tiger shark?" Katherine asked before pointing her microphone towards the off duty cop.

"Well, back in college I took a marine biology class before I became a cop, and I was able to identify the characteristics of the animal despite its outlandish appearance." Bench explained.

"And what were those characteristics that allowed you to identify the monster that killed innocent lake-goers?" Katherine asked.

"There's two different tiger sharks. There's the common one with distinct striped markings on its back, teethe like a can-opener, and a square shaped snout. Then there's the sand tiger shark, which has now stripes, almost needle-like teeth, and pointed snouts with a tan back. The tiger shark resembles the common tiger sharks, because of the snout, and I was able to recognize the serrated can-opener teeth from how massive the animal was. Also, despite the odd coloration, I was able to identify the markings on its back as tiger shark stripes. I don't know where this thing came from, but... I think it's something supernatural." Bench explained.

"Witnesses say that the monster retreated through a portal on the sand bar. Is that true?" Katherine asked.

"Yes. As crazy, and ludicrous as it sounds, it did just that. I wouldn't have believed it myself if no one else here had seen the same thing I saw." Bench answered.

"Witnesses have also reported about another shark, but this one being smaller than the giant, and has arms and legs. Could you elaborate on that?" Katherine asked.

"Yes, actually, I can. So the giant shark decides to specifically target this kid with white hair, and almost eats him alive. But then this humanoid shark, which I think might be a black tip reef shark but obviously larger, comes out of nowhere surfing a wave of water like Percy Jackson, and keeps him away from the monster. After the monstrous shark crashed onto the sand bar, he brought the kid back to his family." Bench elaborated.

"Is there anything else you can tell us about the incident?" Katherine asked.

"Well, the giant tiger shark spoke to the shark man in a deep garbled voice, calling his name, and it sounded like if one of the walking dead tried speaking with water in its mouth or if a demon was choking and gargling as they spoke. The shark man spoke just fine, and called out the monster shark's name. Afterwards, the two roared at each other, and the giant shark disappeared through a portal while the shark man swam off somewhere. People were even taking videos of what had happened after the tiger shark attacked." Bench explained the remaining events.

"You said that they called each other by their names, so what were they?" Katherine asked.

"The shark man called the tiger shark Undertow, and the tiger shark called the shark man Black Tip." Bench said.

"Ok, one last question. Do you know how many casualties there were?" Katherine asked.

Bench took a deep breath before speaking due to the graphic imagery he had witnessed.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. I think four or five were definitely eaten alive in mere seconds, and I think at least three or four were injured. You might need to talk to the medics in order to be sure." Bench said.

"Ok, thank you officer Bench, all of that has been very helpful." Katherine says, ending the interview with the off duty cop.

With that said, we now zoom out to see that this news report is on someone's TV. The scene then cuts to show the whole Loud family in the living room, watching the news about the incident.

The Louds had left the lake immediately after Lincoln almost got killed by the jaws of the monster shark known as Undertow. Needless to say, everyone's pretty shaken up about it.

"This is Katherine Mulligan, and- oh dear. I've just received word that there has actually been seven casualties, and three injured."

Lynn Sr. then grabbed the remote, and changed the channel.

"Ok, I think that's enough of the news. Let's just try to relax while your mother, and I... try to get a hold of a therapist." Lynn Sr. said, still a bit rattled like everyone else. "We'll be in the kitchen if you need us. We'll get lunch ready in a bit."

With that said, the Loud parents went to the kitchen, and the kids remained in the living room.

No one said a word for a good few solid minutes. That is until Luna spoke up to break the uncomfortable silence.

"Soooooooo... anyone wanna talk about that shark dude who saved Lincoln?" She asked.

"Yes." They all said, besides Lily.

They all turned their attention towards Lincoln.

"What? Why do I have to go first?" Lincoln asked.

"Because you're the one who got his butt saved by a man shark." Lynn Jr. pointed out.

Lincoln was about to retort, but figured she had a point.

"Touché." He said.

"Did he say why that giant shark was after you?" Lana asked.

"He didn't say. All he told me was his name, and that he hates the giant shark." Lincoln answered.

"Did he literally say anything else when you two were out there escaping the jaws of death?" Lori asked.

"Other than the fact that he said his name is Black Tip, and that he's the one saving my butt, not really. His name, and his intention were the only things he said I'd get out of him. It wasn't exactly the time to explain anything else." Lincoln said.

"Well, from what we saw, and from what little banter we heard between this 'Black Tip' individual, and that giant shark he calls Undertow, I think it's safe to say that these two shark specimens have a rather heated dispute between them." Lisa explains. "Though I am mostly curious as to where they originated from, and how the giant one created a portal out of nowhere."

"Well, there's nothing we can do now. That Undertow guy escaped, and Black Tip swam off to who knows where. So most of these questions are gonna be left unanswered." Lincoln pointed out.

While he's grateful for Black Tip saving his life, he'd rather forget the whole incident because he actually came that close to death... and he doubts he'll set foot in another lake, or look at sharks the same way again.

Suddenly, the door bell goes off.

*Ding dong*

"I'll get it!" Lynn Sr. calls out from the kitchen, and quickly makes his way to the door.

He then greets whoever it is on the other side of the door.

"Hello *GASP!*"

His greeting is cut short when he gasps in sudden terror when he sees who's standing in front of him.
Even the kids turn their attention towards the door, and gasp in shock at the sight of who it is.

Black Tip.

"Mr. Loud? We need to talk." He says.
