Bucky holds Mary close as they both breathe heavily after fighting off so many invaders at once and nearly losing each other to them. The husband pulls out more rounds from his belt and puts it in his rifle fast and swift as Mary holds off more invaders coming towards them quickly.

"So that's Thor?" Bucky asks loudly over the screams of battle.

Mary nods with a tight smile as she focuses her aim on several invaders at once. She lets her repulsors go with ease and they fall to the ground dead within moments upon impact with her repulsors. "Yeah, that's Thor. I've always wanted the two of you to meet." She replies and Bucky chuckles as he pulls his wife in for a quick kiss.

Mary still has her repulsors firing at incoming invaders and Bucky fires rounds into invaders as well as they proclaim their love in the heat of battle. Bucky breaks from his wife with a smile as they manuver around the field to avoid attacks. "I look forward to it then." He teases but their humor in the moment is shattered as they turn to see the bulk alien that was beside the woman invader slaughter kingsguard with his extendable hammer. Mary tries to keep her eyes on him and then smirks when T'Challa leaps into the fray and releases the kinetic energy he had built up in his suit.

Mary turns back around to see the raccoon creature that had arrived with Thor standing close to the couple. He seems to be revelling in this battle almost comically. "Come and get it, space dogs!" The raccoon shouts and Bucky spots several incoming invaders coming towards them. He and Mary make brief eye contact, she nods at her husband and she presses her back against his as he dives for the raccoon. Bucky grabs the collar of the raccoon and lifts him into the air.

The raccoon doesn't seem phased by it and only revels in it more as Bucky spins them to attack the invaders on all sides. Mary hovers with her boots as she stays against Bucky's back with her own. The couple don't have and time to contemplate how or why the raccoon can speak.

When they get a slight break, Bucky drops the raccoon and he stares up at the couple. "How much for the gun?" The raccoon asks Bucky.

"Not for sale." Bucky quickly replies as he holds his rifle up against his shoulder and contiues firing at the invaders.

Mary tilts her head in amusement as she walks over to the other side of her husband, standing beside the raccoon now. She hovers in the air beside them and fires more repulsor shots when the raccoon speaks up again, "Okay, how much for the arm?" The creature asks but Bucky looks up at his wife and she nods, knowing he's going to move on to another location in the battle. The raccoon smirks to himself but Mary chuckles and flies off to aid her brother.

When Mary lands near her brother, she also is beside Thor. She beams at the strength and power her god friend is showing, moreso than he ever had in the past. He had gotten much more powerful since Sokovia.

"Lady Mary!" Thor shouts boisterously after he swings his axe at several invaders at once.

Steve pants heavily for air as he turns to look at Thor, "New haircut?" He asks as the slaughter of battle goes on around them.

Mary chuckles as Thor briefly hugs her. They had a lot of catching up to do. And Jamie, Thor hadn't met Jamie yet. Mary could already picture Thor being the doting Uncle he always is with Becca to Jamie.

Thor chuckles as he motions his jawline with his hand, "Noticed you've copied my beard." He teases and then looks over at Mary, "Your hair suits you, Lady Mary." He states and Mary smiles.

"Two eye colors?" Mary asks and Thor nods.

"A story we will dive into after this is all over." Thor explains and Mary nods in understanding. There was no time or place for much talking. The Rogers siblings jump slightly at the tree creature slightly at a distance from them as he extends his arm through several invaders at once. "Oh, by the way this is a friend of mine, Tree." Thor introduces the siblings to his comrade.

The Tree looks over at the siblings as they turn behind themselves and face the tree. "I am Groot." The tree states.

Mary smiles and waves, "Mary." She states back but her brother takes it further like the wholesome big brother he is.

Steve, still breathing heavily pats his chest, "I am Steve Rogers." He states to Groot.

Mary laughs but rumbling from the forest cuts through their moment of friendship. Steve doesn't know what to do in the moment and he grabs his sister by her waist and throws her into the air. Mary screams but her boots catch her in the air as she watches everyone from where she was just standing run from whatever is coming to the battle.

The advisor gasps in horror as six giant blades come up from underneath the dome. She can hear the terror in T'Challa's voice as he screams to his people to fall back and disperse away from the threat of the blades. She dives out of the way as the blades scatter away from each other. She can hear Rhodey, "Focus your fire on the left side, Sam." The Colonol tells his comrade.

"I'm doin' it." Sam replies quickly as the two take down one of the blades by shooting at it. Mary then understands how to take the blades down. She flies up higher in the air and dives for a blade, she shoots at it with her repulsors until she flies overhead of where Natasha is battling invaders with Okoye.

Mary makes the rash descision to help them and roughly lands on the ground beside them as they spear an invader and Mary shoots at two oncoming ones. Mary gasps as the blades come increasingly closer to the three women. Natasha and Okoye both brace themselves as Mary still fights off invaders until the blades are nearly on top of them. Mary knew Bucky, Steve, and anyone else would be pissed at her for putting herself in the direct line of fire but she couldn't stand idle while two women she considered sisters gave their lives to fight for Earth.

She was ready to try and pull them out of the line of the blades until red wisps overtake the blades and Wanda lands in front of them. Her eyes red with her power as she moves her arms with her power and stops the blades from killing those she considered family. She uses her power to levitate the blades off the ground. The three women dive for cover as Wanda looks behind her shoulder and sees hundreds of invaders running towards them. She moves the blades behind her and then throws them back down ontop of the invaders with great force.

Mary sits up with a smile on her face as Natasha smirks and Okoye stands there in disbelief. Okoye flips her spear in her hand a few times and tilts her head, "Why was she up there all this time?" She quips.

They don't get long to appreciate Wanda's powers because Sam quickly speaks into the coms with a panicked voice. "Guys, we got a Vision situation here- whoa!" He shouts into his coms as an invaders jumps into the sky and tackles him onto the ground.

Mary whips her head around to find her brother as he shouts into his own com, "Somebody get to Vision!"

"I'll go!" Bruce shouts and takes to the skies in the hulkbuster armor to get to Vision as quickly as he can.

Wanda and Mary both nod, "We're on our way." They say into their coms but Wanda is hit on the head by the alien woman and Mary is thrown across a trench that was made by the blades.

Mary winces at the pain in her sides and back as the alien woman stands above Wanda, "He'll die alone. As will you." She snaps to Wanda.

The advisor stands onto her feet as quickly as she can as Natasha and Okoye stand on either side of the alien woman. Mary steps in front of the woman. "She's not alone." Natasha states. The women surrounding Wanda and the alien woman smirk. Okoye flips her spear and readies it as Mary brushes hair out of her face and aims her repulsors at the invader.

The invader leaps into the air for Natasha first. Mary takes to the low skies as Okoye leaps into the battle. The women need to ignore Bruce's call for help on Vision's end because they're busy with their own battle against one of Thanos's henchpeople. Okoye and Natasha keep the fight of the alien woman on them as Mary lands behind the woman and shoots her repulsors at her back.

Mary quickly thinks, stopping her repulors and presses her two fingers down on her wrist, much like she remembered Peter did with his webbing, and a wire shoots out. She jet boosts onto the alien woman's shoulders and holds the wire across her neck. Mary yells out as she fights against the strength of the alien woman but she still is fighting against Okoye and Natasha.

A blade flies overhead and Mary leaps off the woman's shoulders but keeps her wire across her neck to try and aid Natasha and Okoye. Mary then remembers something Shuri said the wire did and she smirks, "Taser webs." She states as her middle figner presses where the wire ejects again and it sends out a shock through the wire. The woman yells in frustration but she can't turn her focus onto Mary. Okoye tries to spear the woman but the alien deflects and manages to throw Okoye against the dirt ion the ground.

Mary lets the wire go and retract into her wrist as Natasha and the alien woman face off. The advisor knows Natasha has a handle on the woman and Mary races to where Okoye and Wanda are. She crouches down to Okoye's side and looks her over as Wanda stands on her feet, her red wisps entangle themselves around the alien woman and she's launched into the air, right into a blade as it comes overhead.

The four woman sit on the ground, completely exhausted as they look each other over. Natasha sits up as Wanda sits back down. The blonde woman of thr group has blue blood on her face from the alien woman being torn to pieces by the blade. "That was really gross." The spy mutters under her breath.

Wanda and Natasha both look over at Mary who is covered in dirt and sweat as she moves hair out of her face again. "When did you get good at fighting?" Wanda asks curiously.

Mary and Okoye smile at each other before looking back at the two women, "The Wolves protect their own." Mary states simply with a weak smile as she breathes heavily. "It was time i learned how to protect those i love."

As the battle rages on, Mary can hear M'Baku and the Jabari shout their chant in the distance. She can see Thor taking down the containment ships that hold the invaders. Wanda and the others had taken off after a quick breather to find Vision and Mary knew she needed to find her husband or brother quickly.

She flies to the forest line and lands in front of her brother as he looks up to the sky with fear and curiosity in his blue eyes, "Stevie?" Mary questions as she steps over closer to her brother. The wind rustles eerily and everything becomes quiet suddenly. Steve looks over at his sister as he presses his hand to his com.

"Everyone, on mine and Mary's position. We have incoming." The Captain relays his orders to the team and Mary looks over at her brother with a scared expression on her face.

A portal of some sort opens behind Bruce and Steve instantly motions Mary to stand behind him like he had always done with her even when he was weak and sickly. He always protected her. Always put his life on the line to keep her alive and safe.

And this time was no different.

A large purple man steps out of the portal and Mary instantly pales. She doesn't know what to think or do as who she assumes is Thanos appears on the field.

"Cap. That's him." Bruce says to the team.

Steve takes charge and readies his shield, "Eyes up. Stay sharp." He commands as he begins his charge to Thanos. Mary is terrified but she knows that her brother is in charge. She follows her brother's lead and begins to charge at Thanos beside him.

She tries to keep her fear in check as Thanos uses one of the stones on his gauntlet glove to make the hulkbuster armor phase through him and imbed itself within the rock behind him.

Steve knows what's coming the moment his feet leave the ground, he wraps his arms around his sister and pulls her to his chest to keep Thanos away from her. They both get thrown into the air and Steve takes the brunt of the fall and keeps Mary secure to his chest.

Mary screams as she opens her eyes to see Thanos holding T'Challa high in the air by the neck. Her best friend, her king, her son's godfather. Thanos throws T'Challa onto the ground and punches the king in the face hard to knock him out.

Sam flies in next with his guns firing at Thanos but sends out a blast and Sam tumbles onto the ground in front of the invader.

Mary lifts her head to see Vision and Wanda talking. Her heart shatters instantly when she knows what Vision is trying to convince Wanda of doing. He wants her to destroy the stone. Which in turn kills him. She watches as Vision places Wanda's hand against his cheek but then pulls her hand away and with his two hands, begins to postition her fingers in the way she does when she uses her power.

"It shoulden't be you, but it is." Vision pleads with the love of his life. "It's alright." He pleads more as Wanda steps back, "You could never hurt me. I just feel you." He whispers to her but Mary picks up on it through her com. Tears cascade down her face as Steve stirs underneath Mary.

The friend watches in horror as Wanda's magic flows from her into the stone. Mary then turns around as she hears her husband yell out in battle cry as he lets off rounds from his rifle. Mary stands to her feet as Steve does and they watch as Bucky is thrown aside by one of the stones by Thanos, as does Okoye and Natasha after him. They all put in everything they have to prevent Thanos from reaching Vision. Rocks and boulders appear above Natasha, trapping her in the position she is on the ground.

Groot does his best to stop Thanos by wrapping his branches around the mad man but it doesn't hold him long at all. Steve and Mary then rush to Thanos, the older brother slides on the ground and from on his knees, he is able to hold off Thanos momentarily. He hits Thanos with his double shields and then hits him in the chin with the tip of his shield. Mary pulls out knives from her boots, gifted to her by her husband earlier in the day. When her birthday was happy and everyone was celebrating. As Steve holds his own against Thanos, using both his hands to hold his gauntlet in midair, Mary slides behind Thanos and uses her knives to slash the backs of his knees. She knows that can wound a man, crippling him even but she just wanted to stun the titan.

As Thanos uses his force to stop Steve, he winces at Mary's attempt to stop him. Steve yelling in frustration and anger but Thanos pulls his gloved hand back and then punches Steve with his other hand with full strength, knocking the captain unconscious.

Mary's eyes widen in fear as the titan turns around the face her. She sits on her knees as his hand comes around her neck and lifts her in the air. "I know you." Thanos tells Mary and she grips at his hand, struggling for air. She doesn't know how he knows her, or why. She's only just found out that there are multiple planets with living beings.

"How." Mary struggles to ask as she gasps for air.

The titan holds her by the neck. "The woman cursed with time." He simply calls her before he throws her away from him, discarding her like a child is done with a doll. She gasps for air as she hits a body with her back.

Her vision is clouded with stars but she turns her head to see the unconscious body of her husband beside her. She struggles to shift her husband and herself just as the Mind Stone shatters in Vision's forehead and it sends a shockwave of power through the forest.

Mary breathes heavily as she can make out Thanos walking towards Wanda. Her head lays on her husband's chest as the shockwave of power is reversed somehow. Mary's eyes widen in fear and shock as Vision then stands before Thanos once more, alive. Wanda screams in terror but Thanos backhands her away from him and his prize.

Her body is screaming, she can't move and it kills her inside as she watches Vision be lifted into the air like she was by the throat. Thanos holds his grip around Vision tightly. Tears blur Mary's vision even more as she watches Thanos use his non gloved hand to pry the mind stone from Vision's forehead. When the Mind Stone is in Thanos's hand, he discards Vision's body onto the ground.

The mother watches in terror as Thanos completes his gauntlet with the Mind Stone and the power of the six stones surges through him. She watches him scream out in the pain of the power overtakng him but in that moment, lightning crashes and collides with Thanos.

"Thor." Mary breathes out as she tries to keep herself conscious. Thanos hadn't done much damage to her wind pipes and neck like she had expected him to. As if he went easy on her. But why?

Mary watches as Thanos sends out the power of the stones but Thor throws his axe and it cuts through the power with ease and hits Thanos square in the chest, lodging itself within him as Thor lands in front of the titan and holds the weakened invader by the head to make him look him in the eyes. "I told you.." he breathes out as he pushes his axe futher into his chest, "You'd die for that." He finishes his statement and Thanos screams in pain.

Thanos breathes heavily as he looks up at Thor, "You should have.." he says breathlessly, "You should.. You should have gone for the head." Thanos finishes his sentance and Mary and Thor both scream in terror as Thanos lifts his gauntleted hand and snaps his fingers.

"NO!" Mary screams along with Thor as a bright light invades their sights.

When the light fades, the gauntlet is burnt and destroyed with the stones still attached.

"What did you do?" Thor screams at Thanos in horror. "What'd you do?!" He screams again but Thanos says nothing as he uses one of the stones to open a portal and leave. Thor's axe falls to the floor as Mary sits up slowly in shock.

Steve staggers over to where Thor is with labored breathing of his own. "Where'd he go?" He asks with a terrified look on his face as he holds his side.

Mary looks over at her husband as he slowly stands up and she helps him up. Steve turns around in a circle, looking for Thanos, but the titan is gone. "Thor.." The captain mutters in disbelief. "Where'd he go?" He asks the god again but Thor does not reply.

"Luna?" Bucky mutters as he looks himself over and Mary turns to look at her husband beside her. Her hazel eyes widen in horror as Steve turns to look over at his brother in law and sister. The sight before the siblings is one of unphathomable horror.

Mary watches as her husband, the love of her life and father of their children begins to collapse to the ground and turns to ash. She screams, her lungs burn as she collapses to the ground with her husband only for Bucky to never make it to the ground as he falls. Mary is covered in the dust of her husband as she grips the ground where the dust lays of where her husband once was.

"James?" Mary screams as she tries to pick up the dust of her husband. "James?!" She screams even louder, her throat is hoarse as Steve rushes to his sister. He slides onto his knees and gathers her into his arms. "BUCKY?!" The wife screams his nickname in hopes of him coming back and telling her that only she gets to call him James, that his nickname is not to be spoken by her because of how sacred it was to them for her to call him by his name.

In this moment, all she wanted to do was join her husband. To turn to ash and dust along with him. But reality was often cruel to her, and fate did not grate her wish to join her husband in heaven.

But then her mind snaps to the fact that her precious babies were also possible victims.

Becca.

Jamie.

She had no idea if they were alive as well and it only made her wail more. She couldn't fathom her beloved James to be gone, but the possibility of their children being gone as well? His gifts to her. She couldn't stand the pain gripping her chest.

Steve doesn't know how to process what had just happened to his brother in law. Thor stands in shock as his close friend, the woman he saw as a sister, is screaming and wailing in the arms of her brother.

All around Mary people begin to turn to ash but her mind doesn't comprehend it all. She wails even louder as she hears Okoye calling for their king. For T'Challa. And then she can hear Rhodey calling for Sam and it makes her scream in heartbreak.

Steve does what he can and holds his sister close to his chest as he sits onto the ground, rocking her back and forth. The thought of her husband no longer with her is earth shattering, but the fact that those she loves, those she held dear as her family. They were gone to.

Rhodey, Bruce and Natasha race to where Steve, Mary and Thor are. Their hearts shatter instantly as Steve looks to his team and friends as Mary continues to break down even more from the loss of her husband.

"What is this? What the hell is happening?" Rhodey asks in disbelief as he turns to look at Thor and then Steve. The brother tries his best to calm his beloved sister down by smoothing her hair down.

"Oh, god." Steve mutters as he looks down at his sister who cannot and will not contain her anguish. Her sorrow is overwhelming to the group that remains.

It is all consuming.
