three

of course nari has left school many times in the middle of the day without telling anyone. but this, leaving out of a window when they were supposed to be staying for detention, was a different level.

the five of them didn't even bother closing the window back before sprinting off of school property, laughter mixed with heavy breathing leaving their bodies. once they were far enough from the school, they stopped to catch their breath.

"fuck," nari cursed, leaning her hands on her knees as she tried to keep a her normal breathing pace, "was the running really necessary?"

"yeah it might take a little while for you to get used to us," jeno nodded as he pushed his dark hair back from his damp forehead.

nari gave him a look that said, 'no shit,' before she fixed back her posture after gaining back her normal breathing.

donghyuck took his bookbag off his shoulders and all you hears was rattling come from it. the four of them looked at him, confused, as he unzipped it and revealed what was inside. in it was absolutely no books or any sort of school supplies, at least five bottles of spray cans and they could have sworn they saw a bottle of svedka peaking out.

"shall we take our new crew member to our special spot?" he grinned, further shaking his bag to renew that rattling sound.

everyone looked at nari with sneaky looking smiles. "your special spot...?"

any other time nari would quickly decline such an offer. she never trusted and she was never one to get close enough to people to call them a friend. however, as corny as she thought it sounded, she couldn't help but feel unbelievably comfortable around the four boys, despite just meeting them that same day.

she could not find it in herself to say no, she thought this may have been a sign to finally get out of her fucking shell and make friends.

they were obviously still in their school uniforms and it was a dull day. the clouds covered the sun, giving a gray color to their world with just bits of sunlight peaking through to create rays of light beaming down on them every once and a while. it was warm. as warm as a fall day could get.

the four boys talked about their home lives as they walked to their spot, nari not joining in as she couldn't relate to anything they were saying. she found it interesting how all of their lives were so different yet they were such good friends.

after the long walk, they all approached an abandoned building. well. whatever was left of it.

"ah, so this is the special spot, huh?" nari asked as they made their way into the opening of the place.

"see all this graffiti? most of it is us. that entire wall over there, us. that one too, us." jaemin pointed.

nari wandered around, her eyes scanning over the walls that were crowded of graffiti art. symbols and words overlapping each other because there was almost no room left.

"this is... a lot. you guys seem to come here a lot." she announced, brushing her fingertips over the textured walls.

"since middle school." renjun responded.

nari was too distracted, she didn't realize they'd begun taking out the spray cans and gotten started on the painting. she saw a hand come up next to her, holding the bottle of vodka.

she turned, seeing donghyuck offering a sip to her. nari's mind immediately went to her drunk of a mother. she grew up constantly in the presence of alcohol. the only time nari could genuinely remember seeing her mom sober was her dads funeral, which was years ago. her mom had even tried to get help, but went right back to her roots.

"uh... i'm alright." she declined, immediately turning away, wanting to throw up at the mere smell of it.

donghyuck noticed the slight frown and fear appearing on her face when her eyes moved to the bottle in his hand, so he pulled his hand back, closed up the bottle and put it back in his hand, pulling out a spray can instead to give to her.

nari took it and shook it in her hands as donghyuck walked away to do his own thing. she got ready to begin painting, but hesitated because she had no idea what she was about to do.

the only thing that was heard was the sound of multiple different paint from the spray cans hitting the brick walls, nari turned around to see all the boys completely immersed in what they were doing. this must have really been their safe spot, she thought.

she turned back around and decided to just scribble. letting her hand move freely to see what she could come up with. this went on for about ten minutes until she felt her hand cramping.

"holy shit, nari," jaemin cursed, coming up next to the girl, "what does that mean? i've never seen it before."

nari stepped back, only taking in what she'd created just now, shrugging. "i don't know. i completely made it up. like, just now."

jaemin brought up his hands to make two gun symbols, then combining them to make an 'N.'

"i don't get it..." jeno stammered as the other three began making their way over to them.

"me neither, but i like it! lets make it our thing," jaemin suggested as he showed off what he was doing with his hands to the boys, watching them copy his movements.

nari chuckled lightly. "its cheesy as hell." she said, but joined in anyways.
