Silent Stare

I chewed on my lip, waiting for her to say something. She didn't laugh when I had finally finished telling her. She didn't call me a freak or back away, acting like I had caught a contagious disease. Instead, she merely stared at me, her mouth gaping like a fish.

And that, I thought while biting back the tears, was far worse than anything else she could've done.
