Island 7. [It's Too Boring]

(Buff: Lemons for all the Scurvy!)

These past few weeks have been nothing but the chaos that filled the Egyptian landscape. Disaster after disaster is like standing in line to show fear to the people. The palace was completely overwhelmed with requests for help coming from all countries.

"I can't imagine if we didn't prepare at all," a tired sigh was heard from a woman whose beauty never fades, not even eye bags and wrinkled faces.

Another woman came into her room with a cup of herbal tea, "You've done your best, Your Majesty. I'm sure the people are now incredibly relieved to have a leader like you."

"You praise too much. If it wasn't for you, I don't know what would have happened," Cleopatra couldn't even finish her imagination.

Desperate screams, weak hands trying to reach for help, eyes full of longing that new hope will come, the dark history that Cleopatra wanted to avoid in the end was still carried out by her.

'Thank Goodness it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.'

The balcony brought in the cool breeze that night, revealing a cloudless sky twinkling with stars. It looked so calm in contrast to what was happening on the ground.

"Then I'll go back to my room first. Tomorrow morning I will head to the second and third quarters to check on the situation. Your Majesty can rest while 'silence' the elders," it's no secret to both of them how the rich and powerful want to take profit from this incident.

Cleopatra smiled, more like a grin "hahaha, I'll make them 'mute' for a while."

Sun comes early this morning, but also the dark clouds. The rains are coming soon and Anne has no plans to get wet like last week until she catches a fever.

Anne finished breakfast quickly before taking a large bag filled with equipment that helped her solve problems in the refugee quarters. Goods in the form of additional food and medicine, several files containing predictions of the future that she had written, and several weapons for self-defense.

The situation of war and rebellion was still going on, and Anne didn't want to take the risk if she was attacked by rebel groups, especially the necromancers.

"Ah, I've never tried swimming in the Nile! Man, am I  even not allowed to have fun!?"

Amid the noise deriding the pleasures that she had not yet tried, suddenly her eyes turned. Several indistinct shadows surrounded her, and before Anne could curse, black seized her consciousness.

'What bad luck is this?'

***

Well, well, Anne swore that by now she was used to 'damp, cold, with the pungent smell of moss and dirt of a jail'.

'How long has this been? Two? Three? It seems that people here have a hobby of holding innocent girls,' Anne knows the next thing that happens is the sound of footsteps echoing, indicating a crowd of people coming to her, judging herself on the pretext of asking the truth.

Anne is too 'bored' with her new 'routine' in this world.

The screams that entered her ears made her buzz. Anger and rage filled her for no reason. Her hands were shaking, the tremor that Anne never got even though the apocalypse was almost upon her now came very badly. She had gone through several deaths, but never before had this atmosphere stroke her heart.

"Silly woman! Did you not hear what the High Priestess said!?"

"Shut up, old hag! You're so disgusting I feel like throwing up—"

PLAK!

A slap had flown across her face. Her lips were torn and blood flowed out, but Anne only grinned while looking lightly at the elders and priests of Rome in front of her. Anne even spat, daring the men to be even angrier and mock the contorted faces they were making.

"You sinners! Pirates only know to steal treasure and hide it. Hoard it all for your pleasure and make others miserable."

Anne laughed loudly at that, "sinner? Thief? Hey old man, are you aware that your 'God-like' actions are more sinful? You praise The Lord but distribute false indulgences? Which one is more misguided, a gold thief or insulting God by His disciples!?”

PLAK! PLAK! BRUGH!

"WATCH YOUR TONGUE! Tomorrow morning will be your last chance to see the sun! You'd better prepare that 'indulge of your sins'!"

BRAK!

Anne stared bored at the rusty bars that closed her off from freedom. She was still confused, but there was a rebellious side that was starting to 'eat' away at her.

"You want to get out of here?"

"Of course—"

Her red bead looked carefully at every corner of her narrow prison. The torches that filled the passage were also extinguished. A suspicious black hood was already standing in front of her.

"You want to get out of here?"

The question was repeated, and the tone used this time was slightly twisted, light but still harsh. "Nothing is free right? This is kinda a routine, so let's get straight to it, what should I do?"

Anne didn't see, but a faint smile that was so cold formed behind the darkness, "You just need to find the forbidden fruit, mix it with their food and they will die. You can be free afterward."

"No thanks," a loud snort came from Anne. The figure was still calm, asking why she didn't do it.

"Are you stupid? I still have to find the fruit and learn to cook, not to mention smuggle it. It's too troublesome, if there are no more offers, then leave."

Unexpectedly, the figure laughed, laughing very loudly. "Hahaha! You're a strange woman. Then fine, I'll give you the way you like the most, the way you say 'boring' so much done."

A dazzling light came out from behind her palm, and a line of sentences appeared bringing an irritating grin from Anne.

This time, however, her heart felt lighter than before. And Anne nodded, causing the big thump of the explosion that followed.
