Island 4. [Journey Again?]
Darkness filled her eyes. Either the day is still in sight, or the night has taken over. Footsteps echoed, but she didn't feel like she was stepping on anything. The journey that seemed so long, was passed in very black silence.
It took some time for a speck of light to greet her. Slowly her eyelids opened, revealing a cloudless blue sky.
The strong gust of wind that hit her body made her realize how dull the clothes she was wearing were. She gave a questioning look, cannot find the words to describe.
"Cold..!"
Only then did Anne realize that it wasn't just the wind and sun there, but the long length of water and her standing on the cliff was the last part of the unfamiliar landscape.
Her head was heavy and empty as if someone was clawing at her brain. None of the memories can be reached by Anne. Her red bead glanced down at the palm covered in fine scratches. When her gaze returned to the large river in front of her, there was a strange and tense palpitation that spread rapidly.
"Human," a strange voice called making Anne rush to look around. She became alert, prepared if it was something evil.
"So sweet of you, but I didn't mean to eat you."
"If you don't want to harm me, show yourself."
"I've shown myself, it's just that your view is too narrow," the words brought a frown to her brow. It was only after a few seconds that Anne realized the voice was coming from the river, no, rather the river itself was calling her.
"I must have gone mad."
"Impossible, as the ruler of the Nile, I cannot possibly greet a madman."
"Then say your name."
Goosebumps suddenly covered her entire body. There was something she didn't like, and there was a point in her that she was fed up with all the affairs of the river or the sea.
But she can't recall why.
"Asking for a name but not telling one's name?"
"My name is Anne, are you satisfied?"
Anne was too upset and confused, her body was shaking for no reason, and even though she had no memory, Anne knew that the thing she hated the most was stupidity not knowing anything.
"This woman is very brave. I have never met a human being as unethical as you."
"I'm sorry, I didn't intend to be friendly here."
There was a pause, "My name is El Naddaha, the Siren who rules the Nile."
"A name that's hard to pronounce, oddly suits you."
"You're really something."
The wind was blowing harder, forcing Anne to close her eyes. It took a minute before she dared to open her eyes again, only to be presented by the figure of an adult woman with long, flowing reddish hair, her body only using a long white cloth to cover it.
"I haven't changed my form in a long time, it feels pretty good. Hey, human child, come accompany me for a walk. I'll buy you some decent clothes."
On the one hand, Anne is already lazy to deal with strange creatures when she still doesn't remember anything.
"Alright, I'll ask you to buy me something expensive and nice!"
But there is no harm in trying to find information as well as improve her dull and dirty self.

"So the one I saw just now was Anubis, and the one you introduced in the river earlier was Tefnut?"
"Right. How? You should feel so flattered that The Great Siren's kindness was able to bring you to a God—"
"Let's buy some food over there!"
"Listen to me first, impertinent human child."
Everything that appeared to her now was nothing more than a relentless imagination. The formations of the creatures she encountered, their status that could not be taken lightly, everything around her seemed foreign and challenged her. The tickle that Anne said, which seemed to be asking her to run away, made her even more uncomfortable.
'Go where? If you tell me to leave, at least give me a place to come home to.'
Anne wasn't stupid, she already sensed that her existence was something wrong, something that shouldn't exist.
'Stupid Anne, do you know what home is?'
A light tap on her shoulder snapped her out of her thoughts. The gaze met the beautiful figure of the Siren. The gentle strokes of her hair also give her peace of mind.
"Don't think too much. You can't change the past, nor can you choose the future. What we need to do is go through the present with all our feelings so that there is no regret and suffering."
The curvature of her lips that Anne had thought would continue to be flat now turned into a sincere crescent.
"You look like a real old lady."
"Insolent child..!"
"Thank you, El Naddaha," from afar, maybe this was just her imagination, but the sound of the waves seemed to give her their support.
All afternoon they walked, along the merchants who sell. Bought and tried many things. The weight on her shoulders seemed to disappear for a moment. It was a stroke of luck that she met and was stranded in such a peaceful place.
Although deep in her heart, Anne mumbled to herself in a low voice,
'Of course, it's peaceful and happy, all fairy tales and magic stories are like that. Since this is not reality, this is all so full of dreams.'
Before long, from the end of the road, they were walking, appeared a luxurious horse carriage with many gold ornaments there. People prostrated themselves, El Naddaha clicked her tongue, and the daylight dimmed to be replaced by a cold and eerie evening.
'I do not like this.'
In her prayers, Anne only wished she could find a comfortable and warm bed tonight.
Unfortunately, even Anne doubted her hopes after her eyes met the cold eyes of the figure sitting on the throne of the luxurious carriage.
